Back to the Academy

The shadowy figure in front of Mason giggled and called out his name. No matter how much he squinted, he couldn't see her face or body clearly but she felt familiar. He felt more comfortable with her than he did with most people."Come on," the melodic voice encouraged before giggling again."Wait!" He called out in a panic as the figure started moving away from him.He started chasing after her but she only grew further and further away like he was running on a treadmill. The further she got, the blurrier her image became until she was almost a blob in the distance."Wait!" Mason called again before the ground fell out from beneath his feet."Wake up!" Matthew yelled as he banged on the bedroom door loudly, jolting Mason awake and out of his dream.Mason groaned and buried his head under his pillow, determined to ignore his annoying brother. His dream lingered in his mind as he tried his best to remember what the mysterious figure had looked like. He sighed in relief when the knockin

Mom Knows Best

Asha buried her head deeper into her mother's neck as they ran through the forest. Leia hadn't explained much to Asha, she'd just picked her up and started running at full tilt - the young girl felt scared and confused. She squeezed her eyes shut tightly and just hoped that they'd stop running soon."We're going for a dip baby," Leia spoke into Asha's ear, holding the young girl tighter. "Hold on."Asha obediently wrapped her legs around her mother's waist and held onto her neck for dear life as they plunged into the cold river. She held her breath and kept her eyes closed as she felt them both submerge underwater for a brief second before her mother started propelling them to the opposite bank quickly.Asha gasped and did her best to breathe as her mother fought against the river currents. She felt relieved when they finally reached the other side and her mother climbed out of the river. Before she could really enjoy being on dry land once again, Leia had started picking up handfuls

"Isn't it good to be back?" Matt asked with a broad grin, his arms spread out.Mason rolled his eyes but he couldn't stop himself from smiling. Matt was annoying most of the time but his positivity was really infectious and he was right. It was definitely very good to be back.Mason had missed Star Academy more than he'd thought he would - he was also feeling surprisingly nostalgic about it. Probably because this would be their last year here and after that, they'd be taking over the pack at some point. Mason was eager to make the most of the time they had left before the weight of the world was on his shoulders. He also had a feeling he couldn't describe, it had both him and his wolf restless. He was on high alert for something to go down - he just wasn't sure what he was expecting."Look! It's Giulia," Matt swooned as he nodded his head towards their group of friends. They were sitting under a tree and sipping from red, plastic cups.Giulia was easily recognizable because it was jet

Ancient History

Asha fidgeted nervously as she stood at the gates to Star Academy. The ancient, wrought iron gates seemed to tower over her. She could see and hear some of the students as they hung out in some common grassy area. She was doing her best to be confident but it made her nervous to know that she was going to be one of the few new people here. She felt slightly relieved when she spotted an older woman approaching her with a brisk stride."Hello Asha," the older woman smiled as she reached the gates and they swung inward toward her. "I'm Headmistress Weatherly.""Hello," Asha responded slightly shyly as she slung her duffle bag over her shoulder and grabbed the handles of her suitcases, wheeling them past the gates. "It's nice to meet you.""You too dear," Headmistress Weatherly said with a close mouthed smile. "Do you need a hand?"Asha shook her head and smiled at the headmistress reassuringly, pulling her bags forward to prove her point. Headmistress Weatherly nodded and turned on her h
