CHAPTER 31GABRIEL I have been spending so much time at the office and returning home late out of guilt. Tara had committed suicide after she was told that Mason’s body had surfaced and that they suspected that from the way he was tortured, it was mafia related. I just didn’t know how to share that bit of information with my Bella and Jacob and still look them in the eye without telling them the whole truth. Would they hate me for it? CHAPTER 33BELLA Finding out that I was pregnant was definitely a big surprise. It shouldn’t have been though, what did I expect to happen? I was not on any method of contraceptives, and Gabriel never bothered about condoms. I foolishly believed he was my happily ever after! I wondered how long he was cheating on me with that woman? She was probably the reason for all his late nights! CHAPTER 35BELLA When we got to my flat, I asked Jacob and Arianna to make themselves comfortable while I attended to Athena. Afterward, when I came back to join them, it warmed my heart to see that they had helped themselves to some juice from the fridge and made themselves comfortable and were not behaving like strangers. I placed Athena on her play mat, and Jacob immediately came to her and started to talk to her, mimicking a baby voice. She just smiled back at him and made gurgling sounds while trying to grab onto his fingers. I could see the love in Jacob’s eyes when he looked at Athena. I let him enjoy his time with his niece, and I went to sit next to Arianna. Just as I sat down next to her, she grabbed me into a hug again and said, “I can’t believe we finally found you” I hugged her back affectionately and told her that I had missed them all so much and there were times I was so tempted to contact her but didn't cos I was scared that Gabriel would find me. CHAPTER 37ARIANNA “Jacob, get up already. We have a long day ahead of us! Jacob, if you don’t get up right this moment, I am going to throw a whole bucket of ice on you!!!” Trying to get Jacob to wake up is like trying to bring the dead back to life! CHAPTER 39GABRIEL Mum had suddenly gone all pale and looked like she was about to collapse. I panicked and rushed over to her, checking if she was okay, but her eyes were focused towards the entrance, and as she pushed me aside, she started crying uncontrollably and made her way forward.
