Selene’s POV I felt a little more grounded at ease after taking a few deep breaths, but that didn't make the storm in my mind Brew any less. Sean’s voice was nothing more than a dull hum in the background at this point, like static on an untuned radio. I barely registered his words anymore. My mind was practically of panic and guilt, my chest tightening with each passing second. My hands trembled as I dug my nails into my palms, stabilizing myself in the only way I could. The image of that innocent woman—her face, her helplessness—flashed through my mind like a cruel taunt. My fault. My fault.
