Bad Mommy

Lucille's POV I was finally let out of the hospital, ready to reunite with my family. I glanced down at the cake on my lap, and my lips curled into a smile. The cake was for my son, he was five years old today. I had missed moments with him because of my illness, but I wasn't going to miss this one. My son and husband would be so surprised to see me. I pictured their expressions, and I chuckled softly. "We are here, Ma'am," the cab driver said, pulling me from my thoughts. The cab came to a halt, and I fished some cash from my bag before stepping out of the car. I paid the driver and glanced at my house. It looked so familiar and warm. It hadn't changed one bit. With a warm smile, I walked to the gate and once I passed through, I approached my house excitedly, but the sight that greeted me upon entering made me cold. I saw my son and my husband standing close to a cake, with someone I hadn't expected. Vanessa. My ex-best friend. She wasn't my friend anymore becaus

My Wedding Day

Lucille’s POV My eyes widened as I looked up at Vanessa. Her face paled slightly, but she quickly recovered. "Which mommy?" Brandon asked. "Do you really need to ask?" I yelled, glaring at Vanessa. "She must have poisoned him. She's nothing but bad news." "Liam, which mommy?" He persisted. Liam pointed at me, and my heart dropped. "I ate some of Mommy's cake while you were...fighting," He whimpered. "There's no poison in the cake," I protested, panic gripping me. "I made it myself at the hospital's bakery. There's nothing he's allergic to in the cake!" "What did you add into the cake?" Vanessa spat, her tone accusing. "Did you want to hurt him, so he could join you at the hospital?" "Of course not!" I spat, desperation choking my words. "I would never do anything to hurt my child." But Brandon wasn't listening. "Give him to me!" Brandon snarled, pulling him away from my hands. "If anything happens to my son," He sneered. "I'll make sure you spend the rest of your miserabl

I Want A Divorce

Lucille’s POV A scream tore from my throat as I threw the bouquet on the floor and ran down the aisle. I heard whispers and voices calling my name, but I couldn't stop. Panic gripped me and tears filled my eyes. "What is happening?" I whispered to myself, shaking uncontrollably. "I was dead." My escape ended abruptly as I bumped into something hard. I whimpered, stumbling back before looking up and freezing. Before me was Martin, my first husband, one of the wealthiest CEOs in the country. "My, my...look who's running from her own wedding," I heard a familiar voice, and turned to see Kent, my second husband, an ambitious real estate mogul. They were both staring at me with an unsettling intensity. "Why are you..." "You're looking hotter than ever," Martin whispered, trailing his fingertips on my bare shoulder. I felt chills through my body, and stepped back, clearly uncomfortable. They were at my wedding before, because they were invited by Brandon's rich parents who d

We’re Completing Our Vows

Lucille’s POV Loud beeping sounds echoed in my ear as my heart raced faster in my chest. But I couldn't move my body and the darkness that overwhelmed me caused more distress. I tried to flutter my eyes open, but I couldn't. Was I dead again? Had I wasted the second chance given to me so easily? Or was I in a coma? I hoped it was none of these. I had to be fine to take my revenge, which would be a million times worse because Vanessa attempted to kill me. It was evident that even in this life or the past, I was still in danger as long as Vanessa was free. I struggled more to move and my fingers flicked. Slowly, I clenched my fist, mustering all the strength I could until my eyes were forced open. I gasped in relief as my blurry gaze met with a white ceiling. The antiseptic pungent smells evaded my senses strongly, but at least I was alive. It took twenty minutes of me staying still and trying to regain my energy before a nurse walked in. "Miss, how do you feel?" I heard a soft

The King Family

Lucille’s POV “No!” Brandon yelled. “No, Lucille… I will never let you go.” He shook his head, holding onto the edge of my bed. It was obvious he was struggling so hard not to touch me. If he did, he would definitely crush me. “By the time you get out of this bed, we are going back to the church to continue our marriage. I love you too much to let you go.” He whispered, his eyes red. He looked like he was going through a lot like a truck had run him over. He was wearing a suit, the same from their wedding. His hair was disheveled and he looked like had not gotten a shower in days. Anyone who saw him right now would think he loved me dearly but then, I could never forget how he kissed Vanessa in my past life and defended her. Out of them all, Brandon was the only one I caught in the act. Kent and Martin only presented me with divorce papers, saying they had found someone else, Vanessa. Brandon was the one who hurt me the most. I stayed married to him for five years and even ha

Lucille Might Not Survive

Lucille’s POVA surge of gratitude rushed through my mind. My brother, Lucas didn't end the call. For a few minutes, the call was silent and I had the time to regain myself and prepare myself for what was about to come. I held onto the wall for support and in that moment, another voice rang out on the phone. “What is it?” It was Lucian King, my father. “Hello, Father. I–” “Go straight to the point. You have three minutes.” He cut me off rudely. He was still so angry with me after all these years. Why wouldn’t he be though? After all, I was the reason why he lost the love of his life. I knew I had no time to waste, “I know who killed mother.” Those words were heavy in my mouth. The weight of it slumped my shoulders. The weight of those words could also be heard when my father started to breathe heavily. He was silent and I anticipated his response. “Aren’t you done destroying this family, Lucille? What more do you want?” His words cut through me like a knife but I wasn't the on

We Can’t Punish Vanessa

Lucille’s POVVanessa looked taken aback by that question and she glared at me. She started to walk closer to me threateningly, her whole presence shooting venom. “Mrs. King? I killed Mrs. King, huh? Are you trying to accuse me of the crime you committed?” She turned the question back to me. Just as I thought, she was never going to admit it so easily. Getting her to confess wasn't going to be easy. It wasn't the same as my last life. “Have you forgotten, my friend?” I smiled even though she tried to intimidate me with her venomous eyes, I stared back into them. “Forgotten what?” She looked confused. “You told me yourself… the day you pushed me to die…” I said, my eyes containing a dark chilling look. I was recounting the incident that happened in my past life.“You must be out of your mind, Lucille. Yes, I want you dead but I am not stupid enough to tell you that I killed your mother.” She snapped. “So, are you admitting to killing her?” I put words in her mouth. “Yes!” She sn

Welcome Back Home

Lucille’s POVIt was finally the day I would be discharged from the hospital. The past days had been me recounting my experiences with my father and Lucas. I was ready and the nurse had come to bid me goodbye. I made sure to get her a new phone and also thanked her for lending me her phone. “Aren’t you going to wait for your husband?” She asked. Since the day Brandon left, he had not come back, contrary to his words. I was glad that he thought of staying away from me for now. At least, I had some time to bond with my family in the hospital. Together, we vowed that Vanessa would be brought to book one way or the other. “No, I won’t.” I shook my head at her. I was actually waiting for my brother to come pick me up. My father had gone on a business trip, leaving Lucas to take care of me. There was a knock on the door and Lucas opened the door with a smile on his face. “Who is that?” The nurse whispered, looking starstruck. It was the second time she had seen Lucas. “That’s my broth

I Missed You, Lucille

Lucille’s POV“This is your room… your former room actually,” Lucas said to me, his smile not leaving his face ever since we got back to the King’s mansion. “Go in…” He opened the door, and the first wave of scent that wafted into my nose was the same scent I used to get whenever I got into my room years ago. A fruity vanilla scent. I took a step inside to see that everything was just the same. I was certainly a girl living her life. They had not touched or remodeled anything. “When you left when you were 19, father and I chose to leave your room this way… well we were too hurt to do anything about it. And we just left it the way it was.”“A while back, Father started to clean your room himself. He missed you so much but could never bring himself to call you. And when you called days ago, he was happy.”“I finally saw him smile genuinely.” Lucas’ words were supposed to be happy and heartfelt words but why did they make me cry? I hurt my family so much and they still continued to l
