CHAPTER FIFTY ONE

I was surprised to see Mary's call. I even remained stiff as I stared at the screen of my phone. I was about to reach Angus to come and help me to receive the call, when he suddenly rushed to me and snatched the phone from my hands and received it. Whenever a red symbol appeared on the top of the screen, it meant the call needed urgent attention. I wondered what might have happened, so I wasn't able to receive it. “Sweet heart…” I said.“Shh!” Angus stopped me, motioning me to keep mute. He continued, “Mary, what's going wrong?” “Alpha Angus.” Mary replied, her voice coming out with unstopping breaths. “I just heard that Alpha Thane is trying to sign a peace treaty with your pack.” “Oh, really?” Angus retorted. “Is that why you signified urgency on your call?” “It may sound funny, but…” Mary continued, her voice lowered. “He is trying many means to see that we surrender to him.”“I know!” Angus complemented, his voice raised very high. “Thane Thomas is a tricky Alpha.” “What do

CHAPTER FIFTY TWO

As soon as we saw the route, where we were asked to pass through, I became stunned at the sight of the borders that surrounded it. The route looked like a tunnel and it was as though I was going to fall, the sides of the route appearing very transparent. “Angus…!” My voice definitely disturbed Angus's ears, and he shot back a blunt response Immediately. “What is it?” He voiced, turning to me as he stood at a distance. “Dear, are you scared?!” “I'm not!” I voiced back, as I reclined on the sides of the tunnel-like route. But, when I looked back, I saw Lachie, who got me excited as he dashed to my side, sliding on the floor of the passage. The boy wasn't afraid at all, and I could realize his courage as he kept playing around. Suddenly, I was dumbfounded, as my gaze caught the number of the wolves who were in the passage. My heart raced and my mind was activated instantly, as he realized Lachie had gone with us. I didn't know how we got there and my eyes met Caelum, standing righ

CHAPTER FIFTY THREE

I was bothered, and Angus felt the same too, at the way Caelum was tracking us wherever we went to. Even when I told Angus how I saw him before me suddenly, he didn't want to believe until he visited us unawares in the room. Caelum must have been bewitched, just as Angus said. He was no longer himself. Even though he had always pledged his membership to the enemy pack, he sometimes tried to be friendly, but now, he was something else. I flinched. Angus was fast asleep, but I had to wake him up since I was being troubled. I always wanted to involve Angus in whatever bothered me so that we could solve it together. Actually, no one else could do that for me. As Angus turned in bed as a reaction that he was trying to wake up, my ghost mother appeared right in front of me, her eyes glaring at me and tossing me to another side.I was outrightly shocked. “Mother?” I let out.Angus raised his head immediately, seeming to have overheard what I said and he said, “I hope you are doing well.

CHAPTER FIFTY FOUR

The day wasn't so bright, just as my mood was, and I felt cold inside. I had walked around the inn to make sure the thoughts that disturbed me left, but there was no change. I flinched.“My heart is burning inside of me.” I complained to Angus, staring at him. “What's going on exactly?” Angus retorted. “Have you been downcast about how your ghost mother became bewitched?” “Angus!” I called him suddenly, as though I was attracting his attention to a close object. My eyes were partly shut and my face was pale. “Was she really bewitched?” “Yes, that was what really happened to her.” Angus said, his words dashing me to unwanted amazement. “She was affected by Alpha Thane's spell again.”“Ah!” I raised my voice, shocked and equally disappointed. “Does that mean she won't fight with us?” “Stop this, dear.” Angus returned, bluntly weighing his words. “Is your ghost mother the Moon Goddess? Why do you often feel responsible for your ghost mother?” “She gave birth to me…” I slurred.“But

CHAPTER FIFTY FIVE

The war began, as the day spoke of an already prepared one. The atmosphere was thick with dark clouds, but the earth still remained bright, at least to an extent. I came out of the room. On seeing the sky, I was shocked and I knew the Thane Wrest pack was up to something. The war had already begun. “Angus?” I called, as I turned in bed, staring at nothing but the wall and the ceiling. “Where is Angus? Where are you, Angus?” He was out of reach, and even when I walked out of the room to confirm if at least Ronan was still around, I saw nothing but plates, littered on the floor and splattered with blood. I was dumbfounded, my stance almost coming down. My phone wasn't close so I couldn't call Angus. I shook my head immediately, got angry at the situation and tried to even evoke the Moon Goddess. “Moon Goddess!” I called the name of the so-called, revered goddess, my voice raised at the peak. “I know you as the controller of our wolf universe. The compeller of fertility, the one wh

CHAPTER FIFTY SIX

The Thane pack wolves began to match in severally assigned groups - in armies. I didn't waste time to gather my pack as well and caution them to be ready for the real mission we had come to Arleta for.Suddenly, the aura of war began to stare me in the face, making me stand aloof in a spot. Ronan noticed me from a distance and rushed to my side. “What's wrong, Ellie?” Ronan asked me, his brows furrowed at me instantly. “I am doing well.” I responded, rather coldly. “Why do you ask me that question though?” “I notice your mood has changed.” Ronan revealed, his voice stiffened by his strong feelings about what he was saying, another expression of his readiness for the war. “Do you know the war has already begun?” “Yeah… yeah.” I replied. “Your face isn't what it was before.” Ronan complained, glancing through my eyes as they met him. “I realized you must have gone through a lot when I was absent with Mary…”“Oh, how and when was that?” I asked him, interrupting him as my face got l

CHAPTER FIFTY SEVEN

Alpha Thane's eyes met mine and I almost froze. But, soon again, I regained my strength, touched my armour, my eyes beaming with flashes of red light and before I could know it, I was transformed into the wolf inside me. The Alpha looked at me, chuckled and turned the other way. I thought he was scared at my earlier appearance, but when I noticed his sudden shifting again, I attacked him from the rear and brought him down first. “Harsh!” Alpha's Thane reverberated in my ears, making me tingle. The weather became colder and the breeze calmed me instantly. I stood up from level ground with Alpha Thane and I discovered he was also up. He grabbed me by the back, pierced me with his claws and stared at me with his fiery hot eyes. I kept looking at him as though I wasn't feeling hurt at all. When he noticed I wasn't feeling the pain, he groaned, beat his chest twice and looked me straight in the eyes and immediately, I knew he wanted to have some magical eye contact and get me down, bu

CHAPTER FIFTY EIGHT

Two days later, after the war had subsided a little bit, a strange pack was discovered, their kingdom sourced in a place close to Alpha Thane's palace. The morning didn't come without drops of snow falling to the ground, as usual. I realized the day was already bright so I upped and down the bed, rubbed my eyes off some particles and left the house. As I was about to take a step while on the road, a thought struck my mind, jolting me to the side. I wondered if Alpha Thane was with Angus trying to maintain a peace treaty with him. My mind was bothered, so I hurried as I was moving around the nook and cranny of Arleta. Even if it was Lachie or Mary's daughter I saw, I would be able to trace Angus. I didn't want him to attack Alpha Thane very closely. I didn't know how all of them left me alone. I discovered there was no way I could quickly reach them. I saw a pavement before me and I walked there pitifully to sit on it. Perhaps meditation would be the next thing I would do. It was a

CHAPTER FIFTY NINE

The ceremony began immediately, the noise of people's discussion surrounding the atmosphere. Even the chirping birds were engaged - sent on messages to transport flowers to loved ones. It was such a harmonious celebration. The Gammas were present there, seated in the same row, as usual and the rest of the wolves were gathered together. In a short while, Angus walked to the front, putting on a golden apparel. I nearly concluded that the day was to grace our total victory over the Thane Wrest pack and the other strange pack of rogues. As Angus began his speech, he explained what would be happening at that present moment. “I'm not sure if any of you really know why we are gathered in this place.” Angus started, his voice louder than a cymbal. “Well, by my side here is my beloved mate, who will be assisting me in addressing you today.”“Everyone.” I said to them, adjusting as I also changed my position. “Listen to us attentively.” “Eh!” They echoed, all of them, their voices sounding

CHAPTER SIXTY

I looked towards the window to check if Angus was close by. The noise I was hearing was quite unusual and I couldn't trace where it was coming from nor would I say it was from rogues or members of our pack. Asleep in the room, I had been in bed for some hours and I hadn't even come out for fresh air not to talk or see my pack members. Instantly, as I walked up to the door, I noticed it was locked and my eyes changed color immediately, making me want to force it open with my powers — I was scared of being stuck in by a rogue who would sleep with me. I sighed, turned my head to the other side and went back to bed. I laid on my bed and before I could shut my eyes, I saw blood splattered on my face, right from the window — there was a net that was inserted around the corners of the wooden window, which protected it from a strange attack. Blood? What was going on? “I hope my home and my pack are both safe.” I wondered, standing up again. Nobody was around to help me, so I kept m
