EPILOGUE (Diary Of Zorianna)

TWO YEARS LATERZORIANA'S POV I laughed with Liam as we walked along the terrace of our home in New Orleans, Louisiana. We got married few months ago and it's been really amazing. There's never been a moment I regretted saying 'I DO' to him. We were living the exact kind of live I had desired and written down in my diary and much to my happiness, it wasn't fake. It was real! After my graduation and service to my country, we got married in the church we worshipped at in Nigeria. Myself, my friends; especially Cassy and my parents, cried tears of joy and reluctance as I was leaving. In the few months we've been here, things have been great for us, I was working in one of the big news stations in the state of Louisiana. Liam's fashion brand was already renowned in most countries of the world, especially in the countries in Africa and in most countries in North America. Owen was present at our wedding with his beautiful Italian girlfriend, things were going well wi

1. (Finding Myself)

NARRATIVE "Gather around kids. Let’s see what you’ve painted." The middle-aged, brunette haired lady said as she tapped her ruler on her desk. Of course, it was to gain the giggling and chatty kids' attention. "Yes, Teacher!" The kids giggled as they all scampered back to their seats, each holding their canvas. Nine year old Cora, stared at her drawing proudly even though she’s done the opposite of what Madame Gary had asked them to paint. As far as she’s concerned, she’s done a good job and hopefully, the teacher would leave in a good word for her to her mom. She wanted to continue taking lessons under Madame Gary’s art class but her mom was skeptical about it as she thought Cora wasn’t that devoted to painting. "Not bad, Giselle. Hopefully, you’d be a great artist someday. Great job, Pamela! I like that you always put in maximum effort." Madame Gary went on as she examined the kids’ paintings from seat to seat, complimenting those who did really well and encouraging tho

2. (Finding Myself)

FIFTEEN YEARS LATER CORA'S POV I walked through the glass doors into the gym and made the way straight to my favorite exercise machine _the treadmill_ Ignoring everyone else out of habit. I focused on my workout, letting myself travel through space and time as I did. I had my long blonde hair in a messy bun and of course, I was putting on my workout suit. As you already know, I'm Cora _Cora Connor. There's just one thing I've ever really wanted in life and I think you know what that is already; To be an artist, to practice and make art. Funny enough, that dream is still a dream. Even after five more years of daily practicing at Madame Gary's art studio, I still ain't able to draw a perfect circle. Now I know that's funny and really unbelievable but that's the fact! I was fourteen when Mom couldn't take it anymore as she's done all she could to help my dreams become a reality, each painful effort she made, proved futile. She had me quit on anything related to arti

3. (Finding Myself)

CORA'S POV Is this some kind of joke? I mean, why's Oliver Hart sitting before me? Last time I checked, we never spoke a word to each other even though we took a course in the University together. Now, who's Oliver Hart? Oliver Hart and I schooled at the famous Oxford university. He was a random colleague I never had conversations with. I didn't know much about him other than him being a popular dude amongst the girls that year, well obviously because of his goodlooks. The girls did refer to him as a 'hunk' then and I also learned he was great with pencils and ink. Presently, I stared at him from underneath my lashes, my fingers caressing my wine glass. "So, to what do I owe this amazing surprise, Mr Hart?" I began. He smiled, his gray eyes liting up with his beautiful smile. "No, please. No need being so formal with me, we're old school colleagues afterall." He smiled again, tapping a finger on the table, probably out of habit. My eyes took in his every move as he c

4. (Finding Myself)

CORA'S POV I walked into the big art studio that was Oliver's, the next day after his visit. Yeah! I made up my mind to try again one more time. He would be surprised to see me here, I know. Because according to him, we were supposed to meet after two days. But suddenly, two days felt like two years to me. I couldn't sleep all through the night and early this morning, I had Mira cancelled all my previous appointments for a week. Immediately I stepped in, I sighted him bent over a canvas as he painted, looking so freaking gorgeous. He was wearing a black beanie, an ash-colored body fitted short-sleeved shirt, and white shorts. His muscles and abs clearly obvious even from his tight shirt. He looked so dreamy! I leaned against the wall quietly with my hands tucked in my jacket pockets as I watched his every move from the side. His eyes were puckered in concentration at the canvas, and his skillful hand, guided the pencil perfectly on the canvas. Oh, damn! Oliver Hart

CORA'S POV "Breathe, Cora." He whispered softly and immediately, my tension disappeared. I felt relaxed instantly and I began to inhale and exhale, shutting my eyes close. "Good girl." Oliver said after what seemed like a minute. "Now open your eyes." I did as he instructed. "Focus, Cora. Focus on the lady before you. Stare deep into the eyes of this beautiful woman, shut out every other thoughts and concentrate on her only. Open your heart, search her eyes and tell me what you see." He said and everything else became still that moment, his hands were no longer on my shoulders and I couldn't feel his breath on my ear anymore. I blinked severally, shutting out the million thoughts going on in my head and stared at the painting. Concentrating only on her eyes, I stared until I felt nothing within or without me. I stared immensely, searchingly at those eyes that were mine and in that moment, something unusual occurred. At this moment, I was looking into my own soul. I saw my bat

CORA'S POV "Look at the empty canvas, Cora," I did as he instructed. "Good, now hold my hand." I looked at him as he raised his right hand _which held a paint brush_ to the canvas. I leaned forward and slowly raised my hand, carefully placing it over his, on the canvas. While his hand held the brush, mine supported him. "Perfect. Now close your eyes and think about the healing you're getting and the representation of the new you." He instructed once more and I did as he said, closing my eyes and thinking about the broken lady whose soul I'd peered into, thinking about the new woman I'd always envisioned of her. "Guide my hand Cora, and together, let's reflect HER through art on this welcoming canvas." I heard Oliver whispered encouragingly. I breathed in and exhaled heavily. My mind went back to search my soul thoroughly and I felt my hand moving and directing his, against the canvas. I didn't know what I was doing; but one thing was certain _I had become a changed p

CORA'S POV Few days later, I was already a master of my own with Oliver's exceptional teachings. I've never met anyone as unique as him. Today was the last day of training but I don't think I was ready to let him go. I admit, I've fallen for him but there's no way I'm telling him. What if he doesn't feel same? I would end up humiliating myself. Our last training was scheduled for evening and I was in my office, organizing a few projects when Mira walked in. "Ms. Connor, you have a visitor." She announced. I raised my head from my laptop to her with a slight frown. "Mira, I remember telling you I wouldn't be seeing anyone today. No business meetings today so why..." "I'm sorry to interrupt you, but it's that guy from before, Mr Hart. Should I instruct him to return?" She innocently asked. "What? No!" I said quickly. "Let him in." My heart was hammering hard against my chest in excitement and anticipation of seeing him. What in the world is wrong with me? "Alright, M

He called out from the park. 'Yes Babe, just going through the equipments once more. I think we're good to go now.' She shouted back, bending over and picking up the neatly arranged set of tools.Minutes later, Gabby drove them up to the large open field where the plane and many other skydivers were waiting. NARRATIVE The smell of cotton, old wood and the scent of brewing herbs, made the way to Natalie's nostrils. She blinked severally when she opened her eyes, trying to adjust to the bright light in the cabin. She frowned slightly on discovering she was lying in an unfamiliar cotton bed and environment. Slowly, she scanned around the wooden cabin and instantly sat up when she found an unfamiliar man, sitting on a stool in a corner, watching her. He was masculine and shirtless, he had long black silky hair that fell down his shoulders. He had an attractive face and a clean jawline, his thick lashes conceal his hazel eyes. He had a somewhat huge frame and one of his fingers stroke one of his full brows as he watched her. 'You're awake.' He said and Natalie easily picked up his accent. He didn't sound native american. 'Who are you? What is this place? How did I get here? Gabby...Where's Gabby? Where's my husband?' She queried as she struggled to get off the bed. 'Relax, lad
