Catherina lay on her bed, her face buried in her tear-soaked pillow as she heard the voice of her aunt, the sobs racked her chest showing no signs of stopping. The sound of her door creaking open barely registered in her grief-stricken haze. A soft voice spoke again.“Catherina?”It was her aunt, Elena, standing hesitantly in the doorway. Her face was a mix of concern and sympathy. She stepped into the room, her footsteps soft, and sat on the edge of the bed beside her niece. Elena reached out and placed a comforting hand on Catherina's back.“Darling, sit up and talk to me,” Elena urged gently. “Whatever it is, keeping it bottled up will not help.”Catherina sniffled, slowly sitting up as Elena guided her. Her hair was a mess, and her cheeks streaked with tears. Her face had gone red, and she had a headache. She tried to speak, but the words were caught in her throat. Finally, the door opened, and a doctor emerged, his expression serious but calm.
