ReneeI mentally rolled my eyes when I realized it was Ivor calling, wondering what he wanted again.I picked, saying. “Hello.”“petals, how are you doing?” Was his response.His voice sounded strained and more deep than I have ever heard. I had to take the phone and put it on speaker because I couldn't explain what it was doing to me just from hearing it.“I am fine.” I managed to say.“That's good.” He went silent for a while before he talked. “Jerome called.” He informed me.“What? Dad? When? What does he want?” I asked, pretending not to know why Dad called him.“He asked me to let you stay for the duration of your study so I wanted to know if you are okay with it since he told me you said no.” He said.“Uhm, yes. I already said yes to them.” I told him, not exactly getting where this conversation was going.And why he felt the need to call me to confirm and then it clicked.“I get it now. You are worried that I will create problems for you and your girlfriend.” I said bitterly.
