ELEANOR A day after I arrived at the Witch's mansion, the maid assigned to me came over to my chamber to let me know that the old Witch had become more than ready to see me. It was good news - more than good news because the last time I was here, it took me more than a day to see the man. “You must be ready in the next hour.” The maid who came to make the announcement sounded. “I shall return so that you can be taken to the chamber of my master.” Nodding, I got out of bed and reached the bathroom where I washed up, getting more than ready the next time I showed up in the chamber. ELEANOR “No. No.” The words ran out of my mouth as I shook my head in disagreement even when I knew there was nothing I could do about it. “No.” Again, I stared at the piece of paper - reading the lines I did not even understand in order to check and see if there was something I understood in it. I could not be pregnant, could I? How could I not be pregnant?
