Selena's P.O.V.The more the day passed by, the more and more Raven hounded me to go to the hunt. With eyes aglow with excitement, she would pop up at any time and ask whether I was ready for that big night.First, I tried getting her off my back by informing her I had to attend to healer duties, but Raven was never one to quit and she'd only laugh it off, saying I needed a break, time to have fun.The sun had just about set, and before me again was Raven. The sound of sawing-chiseling, the scent of freshly cut wood and mortar wafted to the site.Kael nodded toward the great stone wall, upon which half a dozen laborers were well in hand, framing in the roof of the clinic. "We're making good progress, Seer," he said proudly. I glanced at Raven who sat beside her brother, her gaze traveling through the elders. I knew that she stood by me but her voice didn't have the impact that I needed. I had to bring everyone else to my side. Lifting his eyes to meet mine, he exhaled loudly and leaned forward. "I know that there is something you're hiding Seer, and I know it is something deep if you're this willing to coerce and deceive the elders in your favor," he muttered, his gaze narrowed and fixated on me. Selena's POV"Selena..." The name fell from Rowan's lips in a soft whisper, his voice trembling with a mix of disbelief and rage. The room fell dead still, the tension palpable as my name resounded in everyone's ears. I pulled Rowan's hands away from my hair-he no longer had his deathly grip on it-and stepped back, putting some distance between us. I half-expected him to lunge at me, scream or curse at me, but he remained frozen, his body rigid and his wide eyes locked on me as though he had seen a ghost. A faint smile played on my lips. "Shocked to see me, Rowan?" I asked, the smile growing as I shout out my claws and pressed then against his chin, digging it further until I saw them break the skin. Yet Rowan remained still, oblivious to the pain and the blood dripping down his neck with his gaze still fixed on me. My eyes left him and traveled slowly through the elders seated in their ornate chairs, their expression a mix of shock, disbelief and fear. Some shifted uncomfortabl
