***** When I opened my eyes, the familiar green forest had transformed into another realm of silver trees. The strange beautiful woman was nowhere to be seen, but the jade hair clip she pinned to my hair remained, a tangible proof of our encounter. I touched the clip, assurance flooding me, it was real. She had given me the heirloom. Now, I just needed to find my way back home. To Alpha King Damien, my mate. Gazing around, confusion and dread crept in. Threads of doubt entwined my thoughts. That strange woman, minutes ago, she sought to drain my blood, calling me a traitor. And yet, she gifted me the heirloom.
