Chapter 61

Aria’s POVAnd with that, the party had come to an end. Emily had to drive back home after the event, and I could see that she was getting ready to leave.“Are you sure you’ll be okay driving home?” Maira asked her, her brows furrowed with concern.“Absolutely! I’ll just blast some music and I’ll be wide awake,” Emily replied, waving her hands as she grabbed her bag.“Alright, but text us when you get home!” I said, leaning in for a quick hug.“You got it! I’ll miss you guys!” she smiled, giving us a wave as she walked out the door.Once Emily was gone, Maira turned to me with an excited grin. “Time to prepare for the Rogue shoot tomorrow! Are you ready for this?”“Totally! I can’t wait to see everyone again,” I said, my excitement bubbling over. “It’s been too long!”We spent the evening picking out outfits and going over poses for the shoot. Maira and I were a great team, and she knew all the right ways to keep my spirits high.“Remember to be yourself! You’re amazing just the way y

Chapter 62

Aria’s POVI sink into the soft couch in my living room, letting out a long sigh. I just finished a long day of planning different photoshoots with Maira and she finally went home. Now, I have a moment to relax. I sure as hell deserved it cause it had been quite a minute since the whole coma thing. “Ah, home sweet home,” I say to myself with a small smile. Stretching my legs, I feel the comfy pillow pulling me to sleep… Again. “At this rate, I'll think a tsetse fly bit me. I've been sleeping like crazy. Wallowing in my thoughts in the silence, my mind begins to wander back to my dreams—those strange dreams I had while in a coma back at the hospital. I had called the doctor and he called them, “random flashes of a dying brain.” but I knew it was anything but that. “What are those dreams about?” I murmured, closing my eyes for a moment. I try to shake off the memories. They flash through my mind like images of me lying in a hospital bed, with faces flickering in and out of focus.

Chapter 63

Aria’s POVWell, that was surprising. I had no idea he was going to actually want to meet up. “That settles it then!” Maira smiled and I quickly waved her off. I wonder what Gavin was going to say this time. ***Caleb's POVI lean back on the couch, looking over at Susan. She sits across from me, her smile bright and inviting. We just finished a movie, and in the afternoon thoughts of Aria kept coming to mind but I pushed them far away. That man has to deal with Aria now. Not me and I'm not the one who made a damaging deal. “Hey, wanna watch another one? I think I have one in mind that you’ll like,” Susan says, leaning closer.“Sure! As long as it has some action in it. I can’t do another sappy romance right now,” I reply, chuckling.Susan laughs, flipping her hair over her shoulder. “You don’t like romance? That’s shocking!”“Not all the time! Sometimes it’s just too much,” I say teasingly. Before Susan can respond, I hear the front door open. My heart sinks a little. I glance to

Chapter 64

Caleb’s POVI sit at the table, staring at the food in front of me but hardly tasting it. Everyone seems to be engaged in one conversation or the other but that wasn't my problem at the moment.“I’m just not so sure about the plan,” I murmur, trying to voice my unease. “Shush, Caleb! You don’t know what you’re talking about,” Elizabeth, Aria’s mom, snaps at me. She turns her attention back to Susan, who is smiling brightly. I want to respond, to explain how different things feel, but Elizabeth is too busy praising Susan. “You two make such a wonderful couple! It’s nice to see Caleb so happy,” she says, her eyes sparkling with excitement. Did she even care about Aria’s feelings? The thought suddenly occurred but I felt like a hypocrite. How dare I feel remorse? I didn't love Aria. I was forced to. I sulk in my chair, feeling a mix of frustration and guilt. How can they be so blind? They don’t seem to realize the reality of the situation. Susan and I are together, but it feels wrong.

Chapter 65

Aria’s Pov I have no idea why I had rushed out of the house to see Gavin about this. Now it seems ridiculous as I sit across from Gavin at my favorite café. We had arranged to meet in the park but this is better, comfortable and I feel a bit more safer. The smell of fresh coffee fills the air. I stir my cup, trying to find the right words. Today, I need answers and a good ol distraction “Hey, Aria,” Gavin says with a relaxed smile. “How have you been?”“I’m okay. Just... thinking about some things. I'm wounded. You didn't even try contacting me in the hospital. So much for caring.” I jab at him and I see an injured expression on his face but say absolutely nothing. “I was actually worried, you know but at the time, I couldn't come close.” “'I'll take your word for it. I look around, then lean in closer. “You knew about Susan and Caleb, right?” Like, before I got pregnant and everything. “Yeah. What about them?” He takes a sip of his coffee, looking curious but having a knowing

Chapter 66

Aria's POVI sit on my bed, the room feeling more chaotic than usual. My mind was filled up with thoughts of Caleb, Susan, and now, The Fixer. “Just who the fuck is he?” I whisper to myself and shake my head. This was going to drive me crazy at this point. I grab my phone and scroll through my contacts, but I don’t know who to call. I can’t ask Gavin. He’s already stressed about everything and had a major panic attack when he basically ran out of that restaurant. I shake my head, trying to clear my thoughts. “Why is this happening? It feels like I’m in a movie and I can’t find the script.” Just then, my phone buzzes, breaking my train of thought. An unknown number flashes on the screen. I feel a bubble of anxiety rises in my throat. “Should I answer it?” I hesitate for a moment but answer it anyway. It was probably a random fan“Hello?” I say, trying to keep my voice steady.“Hey, Aria! It’s Sebastien,” comes a smooth voice from the other end.My heart skips a beat. “Sebastien? From

Chapter 67

Aria's POVAfter getting ready, I sit on my bed, looking at my phone. Feeling a bit anxious as I wait for Sebastien to text me. I can hardly believe he’s coming to see me. After everything we went through on the island, I’m excited but also a bit nervous.“What should I wear?” I ask myself, standing up and pacing around my room. I glance at the mirror and decide on a simple T-shirt and my favorite jeans. “This is casual. Just like friends.” Maira was right, the Rogue gift did suit me. I take a deep breath and check my phone again. Still no message. I glance at the clock. It’s almost 6:00 PM. He said he’d text me when he got closer. I want it to happen soon. Finally, my phone buzzes, and I grab it quickly. It’s a text from Sebastien.[Hey Aria! Let’s meet at the coffee shop close to this park. See you soon!]He sent the location and realized that it was the same shop that Gavin and I met, But I push those thoughts aside. “It’s just a coffee shop and plain coincidence,” I tell myself.

Chapter 68

Emily’s POVI glance at the clock on the wall, noticing it's been a while since I saw Maira. Life has been busy, and I miss her. We haven't had a proper date in ages. I pull out my phone, my fingers ready to type.“Hey, Maira! It’s me,” I say when she picks up after two rings. “I was thinking… it’s about time we go out on a date. Just the two of us.”Her voice lights up through the phone. “Emily! That sounds amazing! We barely have time these days.”“Yeah! So, how about dinner tonight?” I suggest, feeling excited. “I can book a place we will both like?”“Perfect! I can't wait!” She sounds so happy, and it makes me feel relieved. She wasn't worried we were busy “Where are we going?”I smile to myself, thinking. “How about that Italian place on Maple Street? They have the best pasta.”“Yum! Yes! I’m in!” she replies, and I can practically hear her smile. “What time should I meet you?”“Let’s say 7:00 PM? I’ll make the reservation now,” I say, feeling a rush of joy. “I’ll pick you up ar

Chapter 69

Emily’s POVI sip my coffee, enjoying the cozy feeling in Maira’s apartment. “This brew is really good! You have to teach me how to make it,”“Of course! I’ll share all my secrets but for a price! ” Maira replies with a warm smile. She takes a sip and sighs contentedly.“Name it!”“Well–”Just then, a knock sounds at the door. “I wonder who that could be?” Maira says, furrowing her brow.“Maybe it’s a delivery?” I reply, curious as she walks to the door. When she opens it, I see a delivery person with a box. “Package for Maira. Can you sign here?” they say, holding out a clipboard.“Um, okay?” Maira replies and signs, taking the box from them. As she closes the door, I notice the name written on top.“Wait, is that Aria’s name?” I ask, my heart racing. “Why is it addressed to her?”“I don’t know,” Maira says, looking puzzled. We both stare at the box, a sense of unease washing over us. “Should we open it?” I ask, feeling a little nervous.“Yeah, let’s see what this is,” Maira says,

Chapter 70

Aria’s POV I sit on a park bench with Sebastian, enjoying the gentle breeze. The sun is setting, casting warm colors across the sky. “I can’t believe how beautiful it is tonight,” I say, smiling at him. “Yeah, it’s perfect,” he replies, his eyes sparkling. “I’m really glad we came here.” And I couldn't deny it, I was having a lovely time too. This reunion of sorts was a nice idea. “Me too!” I say, feeling happy. A couple of kids run by, laughing and playing, and I can’t help but chuckle at their energy. Sebastian leans closer. “So, what should we do next? More food or just enjoy the view?” “Maybe we can find some ice cream?” I suggest, feeling excited at the thought. “I always want ice cream!” “Sounds like a plan! Let’s make that happen,” he says, grinning widely. Just then, my phone buzzes in my pocket. I pull it out, and I see a message from Maira. It says, “Hope you’re enjoying your evening. Please be careful. Love you.” A wave of unease washes over me. Maira doesn’
