Dreaded day.

HARRYThe dreaded day of the meet has arrived and everyone was on edge. By now, everyone who was a part of this even were already in Aldenburg, leaving just Kate, Peggy, Benjamin and me.The last few days leading up to this have been quite tense for everyone involved. Peggy and Kate had spent most of their time handling logistics and doing their best to ensure that everything was perfect and put in place. When they weren't doing that, they were taking basic survival training and going through a few protocols on what they should and shouldn't do when the fighting starts with Benjamin. I, on the other hand, spent most of my time in the basement. I have been in a lot of dangerous situations throughout my life as a cop, but this can be said to be up there in terms of danger levels. I needed to be as prepared as I could, preparations that needed practice and an active mind. Finally, it was time to meet our doom or glory. Personally, I'd prefer Kate's doom, but I would also be on the rece

The low blow.

Chapter 42HARRYAfter a bit of careful consideration with absolutely no pressure at all, Rudolph decided that it would be wise to call his boss instead of making more.of an enemy of us than we already are. He made the call and it surprisingly didn't take long. He said a few stuff in a foreign language but he ended the call pretty quickly. He stared at us with a bit of annoyance in his eyes, his glare mainly fixated on me."You have been granted permission to accompany your mistresses to the chosen location. We would be accompanying you too. Our pilot would be flying your jet with the coordinates and we would follow closely behind.""Or....you could ride with us while the others follow behind," Peggy suggested.Rudolph's glare deepened as he turned to look at her."What is the meaning of that?" "I have decided that you are flying with us," Kate interjected. "You wouldn't have a problem with it since we are heading to the same location, right?""Not that your opinion matters anyway,

No more disrespect.

Chapter 43HARRY"Harry, keep your eyes peeled," Peggy said, shuffling beside me as we alighted from the jet. "Did anything catch your eye?" I asked as I observed our surroundings."Not yet," she replied. "But look around, we have been delivered to our graves."She wasn't wrong. The designated location of comfort which Rudolph stressed, was a private island. One that was devoid of any unauthorized life. The beach was clear and peaceful, a sight that would soon turn bloody and the sea was a clear blue as gentle waves rolled over in a calm, majestic procession. Tall beautiful palm trees stood around the perimeter of the beach creating a sort of barricade between the beach sands and the jungle behind them. A path was laid out between that barricade, one that inevitably leads to the location of our battle and eventual war."And theirs too," I replied calmly. "We didn't come unprepared."She looked around with a tired sigh."This would have been such a great place to visit on a different

The regret.

HARRYOur small but tense procession proceeded with Frederick at the head. He led us past a beautiful reception, with a breathtaking lady sitting at the desk with the signature smile as she greeted us politely. At least he wasn't lying about getting me all the girls I want, and they are the crème of the crop too. 'Maybe I regret turning down his offer now.'I walked at the back of the group with the intention to avoid having any conversation with Frederick. He has been stealing glances at me as we walked and grinning ominously. It's creeping me out."Just so you know, my bodyguard doesn't swing that way," Kate glared at him. "He cherishes boobs and ass quite a lot, and I'm pretty sure he'll like to keep his anal vurginity.""Ohhhh, you've tasted him?" Frederick smiled at her. Again, it was too maniacal to be called an actual smile. He looked demented. How is such a person allowed to be an executive?Kate ignored the question intentionally and looked away with her usual poker face."

Why is that?

Chapter 45HARRYThe hall went silent at the remembrance that they were infact in here for a civil negotiation not some childish banter and everyone's attention was once again grounded. All except Frederick, of course who looked like he couldn't care less how the negotiations go as long as he finds something fun to entertain him. "Kate Rivera," Alpha called. Once again reminding me how cringe it was to refer to him with that title. "I believe you know what our request entails. What are your thoughts?"Kate silently observed the table and then focused back on Alpha. "I refuse giving you jurisdiction in Grimmsville by letting you own a percentage of my organisation."Her voice rang clear and firm in the conference room, instilling a tense silence into it. It was so eerily silent that you could hear a pin drop."Why is that, Kate Rivera?" the man who calmed Alpha down and began the negotiations asked.Kate turned to look at him."Who are you again?" He seemed pissed at that but the re

Let’s continue like this.

Chapter 46HARRYAs planned, the second the first shot rang out, both Kate and Peggy ducked under the table and Benjamin and I shielded them from rain if bullets that followed. The windows were shattered and panic spread among the occupants of the room and both Kate and Peggy revealed the daggers which had been strapped to their thighs.I raised my head above the table for a little bit to determine the scope of the damage done and it seems like four out of the eight executives were killed by the gunfire. Alpha, Darrell as well as the other dead executives seem to have been either trampled on in the panic or used as a shield as the others tried to avoid the gunfire. I couldn't find any of the other executives as none of them had come under the table with us, I can only assume that they managed to exit the room. Unfortunately, it seems like Frederick escaped as well. 'That's gonna be troublesome,' I thought. 'That maniac posed the lost threat out of all the executives.'I didn't hav

What I believed.

HARRYI tossed and turned on the bed as I was too reluctant to stand up. I've had a lot things about from the recent events and it has prevented me from sleeping. My actions had made me question the concept of good and bad and the reality I was living. When I was a cop, I tried to avoid it as much as I could but I still killed people. Criminals who engaged in a gunfight, extremely dangerous offenders who try to run, ......or someone I was sure their death would make the world a better place. That's what I believed.Last night, I killed without care for any of that. I still killed dangerous criminals, but I wasn't thinking about making the world a better place when I killed them. I simply wanted to survive, and I wasn't trying to survive for the good of the world. I was doing it for my own selfish revenge.Does that mean that because my reasons for killing those criminals were not for the sake of good, killing them was a bad thing? Or does a good reason justify the act of taking anothe

Don’t worry.

HARRYSaying that I didn't expect this would be an understatement. I was okay with walking into danger as I know I will do anything to survive, no matter how dirty. I have a problem going in there with Peggy though. That puts me in a deadly spot as I can't fight using all of my abilities and cunningness if I'm protecting both my life and hers. Kate seems to sense my concern as she looked up from her papers, staring directly at me."Don't worry about Peggy," she said. "She doesn't look like it but she's quite capable of handling herself. If anything, I think her compassion would be a greater danger than her ability to survive."Peggy also looked up for the first time since I came in and flashed a smile at me. "Thanks for worrying about me."I wanted to clarify that I was worrying more about the chances of my survival with her around, but I decided against it. If I am going to get any dirt capable of incarcerating Kate for life, I need to get as close to these ladies as I can."I coul

The prize pool.

HARRYI walked around the hell that mimicked the form of a clubhouse. I expected to see stuff like this, but I didn't think it would be this bad. I was quite unpleasantly surprised. The only section of the clubhouse that seemed to have any semblance of sanity was the casino which was currently bleeding its visitors of their money. The guests in that area were quite sober as they were losing quite a lofty sum of money with every game.I saw the prize pool for one of the games and it was about five billion dollars and still counting. Chances are that it could exceed ten billion depending on how deep their pockets were, and considering the ilk of guests present, I am pretty sure their pockets are even deeper than I can fathom.I weaved my way in and out of the different sections within the expansive clubroom, noting the position of the guards and their proximity to the only entrance and exit which would be my escape route. Considering that we are underground, I was at a loss for somethi

I guess I could.

Chapter 50HARRYThe last five were the hardest to handle as they had already pinpointed my location and were gunning for me without hesitation.I had to rely on run and duck tactics, taking advantage of the pandemonium and blending in with the erratic crowd which seems to be stuck. Of course, the guards were skeptical about shooting into the crowd as some really powerful people were bound to be mixed in with them. They would only be causing more problems for Mr Lockhart if a mafia boss gets gunned down in his hotel. That was what I wanted though so I kept up with my tactics while taking care of them one by one without care or regard for the safety of the beasts vile enough to become customers of this abominable establishment. I shot a few in the process. I don't even know their names or remember their faces in my desperate attempt at survival. Now the red splatter on my mask painted to give the mask a bit of an ominous vibe was no longer just a decoration. Crimson blood stained my
