RAYLA "They are okay," Damien announced as he looked up from his phone. "I just got a message from Dad, he said the cell services there are bad but they are okay." To further assure her, he gave his phone to Ma so she could take a look at it herself. "Did he mention when they will be coming back?" I inquired, relieved to hear that they were doing okay. Ma gave the phone back to Damien. "I will be leaving now." She announced walking away. "Don't go yet!" Jenna cried, running after her. I looked at Damien. "We can't leave Jenna with the servants, I'll stay and look after her." With that, I also walked away not waiting for his response. I helped Ma load her stuff into the car trunk before making my way to the passenger side of the door where she stood. Damien had instructed one of Alpha Jordan's drivers to take her back home. "I wished you would stay a little longer but I understand there's no one to look after your pets. However, you can call me for a pet sitting one of these day

RAYLA Instantly regretting why I looked at his phone in the first place, I pulled away, bringing mine to my face instead. His hand went around my neck pull me back before I could completely move away. He kissed me like he was punishing me for something and my refusal became a way to punish him too. Instead of breaking the kiss, he kissed me deeper, slamming my body to his and then causing me to gasp aloud when he bit my lower lip. He broke the kiss then, smiling innocently at me as I reached to touch my throbbing lip. I glared at him, then looking down at my phone when it vibrated with a text. I left his room then to meet my friends in the living room already waiting for me. I turned to Jenna as we walked away. "Damien has something for you..." That was everything I needed to say because she had excitedly leap out of the room before the words even left my mouth. Kath laughed at her reaction, pushing the door of my bedroom open. "So, It's just the three of you in the family quarte

RAYLA She's been hanging out with Brandon so why was I still surprised by her outburst? Maybe because I thought we were friends? We might not be that close but we were close enough for her to ask me about some stuff, if not all. I guess that making it obvious I didn't like her despite trying to conceal it doesn't really help my case then. Taking a deep breath, I flung my arms around Fiona and Kath, leading them back Into the house. "She's a witch, I'm very worried." Fiona remarked as we stepped into my room. "On the bright side, Damien accepted to work with me after I told him it's what you wanted. Girl! You have him wrapped around your fingers and I'm so jealous." She let out a groan, falling into my bed. "Trust me when I say, I don't have him wrapped around my finger." I responded, because if that was true then he would have let Killion go when I begged him to. After my earlier confrontation with Nyx, I couldn't fully enjoy our sleepover as her words kept echoing in

RAYLA At first, I was fuming silently as he drove me to school that morning but then again I thought that this might be good for the stunt Brandon has been pulling lately. I can't tell if Damien knows about it or he's just ignoring it. For the sake of my own peace of mind, I could only hope it's the first one. As much as I can't stand him, I don't want another person's death on my conscience and besides it might just lead to a full blown war between Shadow-moon and Bluemoon pack. The car jerked to a stop, like literally. I pulled away from my thoughts, flinging a death stare in his direction knowing he had purposely done that. He merely winked at me before getting out of the car and I had no choice but to follow suit. We made our way to the president's office with me following him. The secretary peered at him suspiciously when he announced that he was there to see the president as a guardian today. "Just go into his office." She replied, making it clear that whatever he was u

RAYLA I abruptly came to a halt as Mom stood up to meet me halfway across the room and with my mind still reeling from the shock, I moved away from Damien, creating some sort of distance between himself and I. We came home to the biggest surprise, Mom was back, meaning whatever plans we had for the day were ruined. "Why are you not in school?" She asked, briefly looking at Damien, I bet she already thinks he has something to do with it. "I got into a fight at school-" I stopped not wanting to reveal too much, I glanced sideways at Damien, silently begging him to help me out. Not only was I bad at lying, I hated lying to her since she raised me to always tell the truth. "I handled it already but the president gave her a day's suspension as punishment." He turned to leave but Mom surprised me by stopping him. She smiled, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Thank you Damien and I see you've been taking care of things around here." "Hold your hands..." He shrugged out of her hold, "Ki

RAYLA I couldn't recall the last time it had been just us having fun. We ended our mother-daughter day with a trip to the spa and by the time we arrived home late at night, I was feeling much lighter and it felt as though there wasn't a single bone left in my body. Although, I do wish she would stop teasing me about a certain boy she was convinced had eyes for me. It happened at the bar. Aside from us, they had a mother and son customer, and while our parents chatted, he said hello to me. We parted ways once we stepped into the family quarters, I went to my room still chuckling under my breath. I pushed the door open, half-expecting to find Damien there but the room was empty and I felt a tiny bit of disappointment. While we were shopping, I bought a nice black little number dress with straps. It had a sweetheart neck and happened to be very short. To top it off, I bought a very high heel since Damien happened to be tall, I had no problems with wearing heels around him. Pushing t

RAYLA I got out of the car as soon as we arrived at Blue-Ray's pack and now that I think of it, Damien had to definitely consider changing the name. I hurried up the stairs to his room but Hunter pulled me back, shaking his head while gesturing to another door. Well, I expected him to be in his room. Taking a deep breath outside the door he head pointed at, I looked over my shoulder at Hunter but he was gone! Frowning, I knocked on the door but there was no response, trying the handle I was relieved to find it unlocked. I pushed the door open, peeking into the dark room. "Damien?" I whispered into the darkness, my hand on my wall looking for a switch. I let out a scream as something or should I say someone pulled me into the dark room and slammed the door. The light flickered on and there stood Damien in a dark suit, a rose in hand. I looked past him at the scene he had prepared, there was a single candle light flickering at the center of the table. Rose petals decorated the floo

RAYLA I woke up at the sound of the alarm. Untangling my limbs from Damien, I climbed out of bed and rushed into the bathroom to wash my face. By the time I returned, he was also awake but made no move to get up. I blushed recalling last night, it had been wonderful! The talking, food fight, the wine and the make out sessions. I blinked trying to recall something my mind must have skipped but I couldn't come up with anything, even though it felt like something was missing. I gave up as I climbed the bed to place a playful kiss on Damien's forehead. "Morning sunshine, do you mind dropping me off at Fiona's? I need to get our sister ready for school." I smiled at his frowning face, I didn't need to ask to know why he was frowning: Because I called him sunshine. I looked over my shoulder at him, only to find him already staring at me. He sat up, moving behind me. "How are you feeling?" He inquired, his morning voice sending shivers of desires down my body. I cleared my throat, movin

RAYLA "So...how was your date?" Both my best friends excitedly asked me the following morning as we walked down the hallway to our first class. "It was fine," I answered absentmindedly. After what went down between Damien and I earlier this morning, my mind had been occupied with so many scenarios and I couldn't stop looking over my shoulders to see if a spy or two were tailing me. "Just fine?" Fiona frowned, it was clear in her voice that she was expecting more. I understood how she felt as well. Hell, I had woken up this morning, excited to tell them more but now I don't even want to think about Damien. "Can't you read between the lines, Fiona? It’s obvious she doesn't want to talk about it. What's going on between you two? Did the date not happen?" Kath asked, following the direction of my eyes when she saw that they were fixed in a certain direction. Just a few doors down the hall was Nyx and Damien, he had his head bent as he typed away on his phone while Nyx trailed after h

RAYLA "I have a suggestion." Alpha Jordan's voice jerked me out of my thoughts, I looked at him as he went to stand behind Mom and then clasped his hands on her shoulders. "It's been a while since we've done any activities together as a family, how about we go somewhere?" He suggested and I could already picture what Damien's reaction would be. "Or... You and Mom could just take some time to yourself?" I suggested instead. "Ah..." He let out a chuckle. "That's Rayla's way of saying she's too old to be seen hanging out with us, but no. Your Mom and I already took some time off and now we are going to be spending a few hours together, where's Damien by the way?" He repeated and this time, Damien strolled in. He paused, looking at me and back then at our parents. "I heard the private investigator died, that's one sloppy mess." He told Mom, looking so innocent you couldn't guess in a million years that he was the Alpha to some dangerous pack of rogues out there. I was still dying to
