The blaring of the horn at the main entrance was what jolted Samantha back to reality. Her stepmother was back home from one of her many trips birthing a new chapter of misery was about to be opened in her life, she sincerely wished her vacation had lasted longer. Life had become a burden and a lot of times she had considered throwing herself from the window, in death maybe she would find peace but anytime the thought occurred to her she remembered her mother, she would be disappointed. Samantha wiped her hands on her worn out shorts and proceeded downstairs to welcome her stepmother home. CHAPTER TWO

She was quite aware that her father had bad habit of gambling, there was a time it caused a big misunderstanding between her father and late mother, she remembered him begging and promising never to gamble again but here he was repeating the same act. Her mother would be rolling in her grave, everything this man did and said were all lies. Fred Dwayne, her father was a prominent man in his early fifties, compared to his mates he looked younger and could pass for a thirty year old. He was known for his amazing business ideas and strategies that helped accumulate so much wealth that was until he started gambling, now he was in debt. Samantha could not deny that she was mesmerized by the grandeur of the Kane mansion and for moment it distracted her from her current misery. Her house was nothing compared to the architectural beauty before her. The men led her inside the house, one held her firmly with his grip so tight that she thought it might leave a bruise while the others carried her possessions. Her heart raced they passed the dim lit hall, the portraits on the wall held weird art works that she felt dated back to the 19th century.The men released her when they got to what looked like the living room.
