MEREDITH'S POV The evening was growing darker and outside was getting a chill. Brenda and I spent four hours choosing a dress for me to wear. I couldn't understand why it took so long, since she only showed me two outfits to select from. I wished my mother were here to help me with this. She was a true beauty queen. She probably won every pageant that her mom entered her in as a young girl. I missed her deeply, if she wasn't sick, then she would be the one to do my makeup and hair, not Brenda.
