CHAPTER TWENTY

Chelsea "Are you in pain Archie?" He didn't realize the question until he'd read it aloud. It was gone before he could check who it'd been. He swerved to Arc and watched him closely. He had that closed off look on his face again. His lips were pressed tightly together and his eyes refused to meet Chelsea's. Why wasn't he looking at him. If there was one thing Chelsea was terrible at, it was reading people. Was Arc uncomfortable or was he just behaving grumpily as he usually did? Did he not like being close to Chelsea? Suddenly, he remembered when Arc had refused to touch him during the meeting they had with Lily, preferring to put the pen on the desk instead. He decided not be irrational. He always jumped into conclusions with the worse ideas possible. It was that known trait of his that'd brought about the dilemma he was presently facing, upon himself. "Are you not okay?" His attention was no longer on the comments. He rested his le

CHAPTER TWENTY ONE

Arc Yes, Arc was an idiot. A big one. "This is so amazing, we're all here again. I'm glad to see y'all." The black woman named named Kaitlyn asserted. "Well..." Her eyes glided down from the tip of Grey's head to the wheels of his chair. "Except for no-legs over there." "I'm glad to see you too Miss Kaitlyn." Brandon commented, a wide grin on his face. Arc didn't know alot of jocks but Brandon fit the stereotype with his messy blonde hair, tank top and what looked to be excessively tight shorts. "Oh this boy. You sure know how to make a lady swoon. I'm no Miss, boyo. Just call me Kaitlyn." She smiled widely. "I'll have you know that I'm the loving mother to two beautiful kids and the wife to a lovely woman." Brandon's jaw dropped. "Whoa." "Great, another fucking homosexual." Grey uttered, flinging his hands in the air. "Wouldn't surprise me to know that Bozo sucks wood too." "Why the hell are you here then i

CHAPTER TWENTY TWO

Chelsea It was a beautiful sunny Sunday, with birds chirping in the air and the greenery of the grass, a picturesque harmony that merged together with a droopy grove of crabapples, thereby proposing a peaceful cooperation that brought out the loveliness of the park. He'd needed the intake of fresh open air that now came freely to him. And he was bored. He couldn't help but still be mad at Arc for lashing out on him the way he did the day before. He hadn't done anything to infuriate him. He couldn't understand why Arc had gotten annoyed. He'd been neutral enough before and during when they'd both gone live. He should probably get used to Arc's broody personality if they were going to hit it off with the pretense. He shouldn't care when he's gotten almost half his followers back. This was really going to work. He couldn't be more thrilled that he'd decided to go along with Lily's plan. She kept saying she had something bigger coming up that'll be an enormous boost t

CHAPTER TWENTY THREE

Arc Arc winced at the sharp bite of pain that went through his right leg. Damnit! He'd gotten half his cut for barely doing meager work as Bill had put it. He'd had to take up Sarge's offer to be driven home. "Why don't you take it easy for a few days man? See a physical therapist or something." Sarge had told him after pulling up by the curb. Arc had just nodded and alighted from the car, limping slowly as he moved towards his front door. He couldn't afford to take it easy for a few days. They were almost out of groceries and the water bill was overdue. "Need any help?!" Arc had heard him shout out. He'd pretended not to hear and thankfully, he'd heard the car drive away. He'd managed to open the door with shaky hands as the pain seemed to transfer to every cell in his body. He slowly slid down the ratty couch. As he sat on the couch, a wave of pain washed over him and he bit his tongue to stifle a cry. He slowly lifted his right leg on the couch and let it sp

CHAPTER TWENTY FOUR

Chelsea Chelsea desperately needed a hobby. He was beyond the trepid of his sanity and boredom made him go offbeat. It'd made him encounter a troupe of senile characteristic ladies the day before. It'd presently brought him to Arc's doorstep. He exhaled slowly, his breath escaping in a soft hiss. Lily has gone AWOL with the Big Bang of a plan she wouldn't give him a hint of. Besides that, her idea of being pretend friends with Arc was on a roll. Even annihilatorAK47 had backed down and showed little to no presence in his comment sections. He would very much like to know what other strategy she had planned but she'd waved her hand dismissively, saying he should just keep doing whatever he'd been doing with Arc. Posting more pictures of the two of them having fun together or going live streaming as many times as they can to give people something to chew on and leave them hungry for more. She was busy keeping a steady trail on his 'engagers' and following the responses of

CHAPTER TWENTY FIVE

Arc The fresh scent of strawberry had hit him the moment Chelsea's earthy presence had come close to him. A rise of feelings had welled up in him, all at once, seeing Chelsea's smile, the way his hair caught the light as he'd stood outside. And his eyes. God, Arc felt like he could dive into their warmth and bathe in the gentle torrents of emerald crystals. His thoughts were a rapid mess. Seeing Chelsea did many things for him. Maybe it was because of his reminisce down memory lane. Maybe it was because his fucked up leg was being crankier than usual. Maybe he was the crankier one. He shouldn't have left Chelsea with Penelope, his sister could be overprotective, but he couldn't be close to him with his perverted feelings. He'd wanted to put his mouth on his and feel Chelsea's respond and dance with his. Chelsea. He could remember that night at the gala vividly, when a hand had grabbed him, bunching up on his shirt and hurling him in. Demanding lips had crashed aga

CHAPTER TWENTY SIX

Arc "You're okay there?" Chelsea asked, his voice holding a hint of worry. Arc nodded, staring upwards at the ceiling, his lips pressed tightly together. When Penelope had left in a hurry to go bowling with a friend, there'd been a silent awkwardness between them that Chelsea couldn't quite understand. Chelsea had been terrified seeing Arc lying on the floor, squirming as his right leg convulsed almost violently. He'd never felt that terrible lick of fear run through his spine, or that ball of trepidation drop in his stomach since his Didi had been diagnosed with stomach cancer. Chelsea couldn't blame Arc for his fear of hospitals. He was scared of them too. Although, he wondered what had gotten a impassive person like Arc to be so worked up at the suggestion of a hospital. Had he have to say goodbye to a dear one in one of them too or was it just a stagnant bad feeling he got anytime he thought of them. He drilled questioning eyes into Arc but the other guy's posture was sti

CHAPTER TWENTY SEVEN

Arc "Are you sure you're not the one that's afraid of getting attached?" "I'm not. I can handle myself." Arc wasn't sure he was handling himself well when it came to Chelsea. He'd used Penelope as an excuse for creating a boundaries, but it was more for him than her. He needed time to think, to process this new bout of tingling feelings that simmered to the surface ever since Chelsea forced his way into his life. In retrospect, Arc hadn't been willing and it happened to be that Chelsea could be a determined pest when set on something. He'd needed to put Chelsea outside the borderline of his personal life. Yes, he'd agreed to do the stupid pretense thing which he was almost starting to regret it but the money was too big of a deal to pass up. And he'd told Lily, Chelsea's social manager that he wasn't planning on ever quitting. Besides, Penelope could go away to college and her life would be made easier and better wit

CHAPTER TWENTY EIGHT

Chelsea The hotel room was a serene oasis, with soft, creamy walls and warm beige furnishings that seemed to whisper relaxation. The large window framed a stunning ocean view, where waves gently rolled in under a clear blue sky. A comfortable-looking couch and armchair sat invitingly in the sitting area, while a sleek, modern desk held Lily's laptop and notes. The room's luxurious king-size bed, adorned with crisp white linens and plush pillows, beckoned a restful retreat. The air was filled with the sweet scent of fresh flowers, and the sound of seagulls drifted in from outside, creating a calming ambiance. Lily sat on the couch, typing away on her laptop, while Chelsea lounged on the bed, chewing his thumb in contemplation This was the second one he'd ventured into Lily's hotel room. "Could you please go away? I'm busy here." Lily's fingers flew across the laptop's keys, the clicking sounds a stark contrast to Chelsea's wavering thoughts. "I don't want to.

CHAPTER TWENTY NINE

Arc Three days passed without the familiar sight of blonde hair and big brown eyes. The absence of Chelsea's bratty voice was unsettling. He couldn't quite put his finger on what he was feeling. Despite setting boundaries to keep him at arm's length, a lingering sense of melancholy had settled in. An empty feeling gnawed at his gut, leaving him perplexed. Maybe Chelsea had finally written him off as a lost cause, a deformity he no longer wanted to bother with. Perhaps he'd boarded a plane to LA, returning to his life of luxury and leaving Arc behind. Maybe Chelsea had gotten what he wanted and was done with Arc. The thought stung, and Arc couldn't understand why he cared so much. If Chelsea was truly gone, Arc would simply need to find another way to secure Penelope's school funds. But the practicality of it all did little to ease the hollow feeling in his chest. It was absurd. He barely knew Chelsea, and his tolerance for the other boy's childish antics was wearing thin. S
