Chapter 111

ORION'S POV Getting to the chief's office, I knocked, a hard, angry knock that said I wasn't in his office to trade smiles and pleasantries. There were a series of noises as if a chair was being knocked over, and when the door opened, he was leaning against it,his head outside it. He stared at me, and in his eyes I could see nervousness and probably anger that he was being disturbed. When he opened the door, he walked over to straighten a chair that had been probably knocked over as he tried to get to the door. He smiled nervously, then cleaned his sweaty and clammy hands on his trousers as he sized up Elena beside me. He closed his slightly opened drawer, and I could tell that he was hiding something. Why was he so uncomfortable?“Mr Ironclaw,” he began, stretching his hand for a handshake. I shook it, acknowledging the slight trembling. What was he so scared of?“We meet again, Chief.”“Yes, we do.”He muttered, shaking his head slightly and sniffing. Rubbing his hands together

Chapter 112

TRISTAN'S POV“Remember, no shots fired until I say so, boys. How are we feeling?”“Good, bouncy even.” It was Cavill that replied first, and I understood perfectly why. He was trying to impress, but I didn't mind. All I wanted was for him to do a good job. Henry only nodded, cradling his revolver. He was frowning as usual, and I wanted him to do whatever he thought was best for him. I only wanted him to function as well as he usually did, nothing more. The alarm rang, the shrill sound drawing all of us out of our various shells. Grabbing my revolver from my belt loop, I opened the door, and gestured for them to do so. It was show time. Signaling to Henry, I waited, my gun by my side as I allowed my eyes to roam the streets for any unwanted eyes. Roaring, Henry broke the door in one swift move, and the next second we were in elder Jeremiah's home. From the silence, I knew they were all in their rooms. Snarling, I transformed, allowing the upper part of my body to become a wolf c

Chapter 113

TRISTAN'S POV Bending, I lifted the well sharpened spears and sunk them into his wife through her back. She let out a scream of pain, a wail that was creepy, a wail of death. It was painful, I knew it, and I wanted it. She started to bleed instantly, blood finding its way out of her mouth after such a short time. Elder Jeremiah's eyes were wide with surprise and disbelief. I grinned in response, trying to tell him that this was only the beginning. He was going to watch each and everyone of his children die, one by one before I killed him too. “Edwina…no, Edwina. She had nothing to do with this, you bastard!”I smiled at him, withdrawing two other spears. “Now, are we going to go through this again or you want me to start with your children as well? All I need from you, elder Jeremiah, is your silence and your support. I know you can do that. We can do this the hard way, or you can accept the money and I spare your kids.”When he spoke, his voice was tear laden. So were his eyes.

Chapter 114

TRISTAN'S POVChugging the beer in one swoop, I ignored the sound of his crying. I reached into the bag that contained the silver spears, retrieving two. “Please, boss. Tristan, I'm sorry. You have to forgive me,please. Please, I promise to do better…”I shook my head vehemently, raising the spears and smiling.“You should've thought of that before reporting me to elder Jeremiah. Elder Jeremiah of all people. What did you think was going to happen? You thought he was going to expose me? You reported to the wrong authorities, my boy. Now, I really want to have fun with your death, but I guess Henry isn't having it. So, here it goes.”Without batting an eyelid, I drove the first spear into his eye, continuing to press it even though it wasn't budging anymore. I pushed it to the max, till it protruded from the back of his head. I did the same to the other eye, smiling as Henry held his hands steadfast and firm using his superhuman strength so that he didn't disturb the procedure. Grab

Chapter 115

TRISTAN'S POVI stood at the window that faced the city, staring at the city that I envisioned was going to be mine in a few months. It was beautiful, the sun was starting to set, and I could only imagine that it would be even more beautiful if I was the great Alpha. The urge to control the city before me was greater than before. The urge to be in charge of not only my brothers but the servants and everyone, the urge to see them bow before me and call me the great Alpha was too great. It was what I wanted to do, it was what I wanted my life to become. Leaving the window, I made my way to my bed slowly, acknowledging reality and leaving my imaginations and fantasies for the time being. If I wanted to be the great Alpha, there were a couple of obstacles in my way. There were a lot of hurdles I had to cross before I reached that goal.It drove me crazy that for me to become the Alpha, I had to make all my brothers love me. And I knew that it was literally impossible. They knew who I

Chapter 116

TRISTAN'S POV“Come on, brother. You know I didn't mean it that way. I'm only trying to know his whereabouts, I've not seen him in the palace for a while.”His calmness and composure even though I was trying to rattle him was insane. Couldn't he see that I hated seeing him even? Didn't he see that I wasn't interested in Christopher, a man that I had killed? For a moment, I wondered within me if I was still capable of having human empathy. The demon inside of me was monstrous and disastrous, killing people at will, destroying families anytime I felt like it. But I didn't actually kill people at will, I muttered to myself in a bid to cover up my flaws, I only fought hard to get to where I was eventually. And that fighting hard meant eliminating people who didn't see me as the right candidate and nominee to lead the great moon arc pack. “Well, if it interests you, he hasn't come to work since yesterday. By the time he comes, he'll be fired though. His negligence is getting out of hand.

Chapter 117

ORION'S POVI ate slowly, my mind racing. Nowadays, eating was difficult. The fact that I was starting to forget that my girlfriend existed and had been missing for months was a difficult pill to swallow. The fact that I was even forgetting what it felt like to hear her voice in the morning and hold her in my arms was strange. And it hurt me because while I was supposed to be the one fighting for her to be found, it was her best friend that was championing it. It hurt me because I had grieved for so long that I had forgotten what it felt like to cry. I was tired, and although I knew that somewhere out in the city was Emilia, I knew that the chances of getting her alive and well and anytime soon was getting slimmer as the days rolled into weeks. Even seeing Elena made me remember that she was missing. Seeing Elena everyday made me guilty. It made me realize that maybe I had stopped loving Emilia afterall, and I wanted to prove her and myself wrong so badly. I wanted to be the perfe

Chapter 118

ORION'S POVBy the time I finished dressing, it was twelve noon. A restless and annoyed Elena was waiting by the passenger door, her face a mask of annoyance. It was clear that she had wanted to be there earlier but had been waiting for me. I shrugged inwardly, wondering if she was doing too much. The fact that I had already been to a lot of places concerning the case of Emilia's disappearance was why I was rarely excited by the act of playing detective. But I could understand that Elena, who had just come, was filled with energy. It wasn't her fault, and I knew that if I too had come a few months ago to find a missing lover or a friend, I would've been filled with the same energy too. “I'm sorry I took a little too long to prepare.” I apologized, staring into her eyes. Apart from the anger which was directed at me, what I saw in her eyes encouraged me. The determination in there, the courage to do anything to find her friend gave me strength. And even though I thought she was doi

Chapter 119

EMILIA'S POVI stared at the chains in my hands, knowing that if I had been brave and courageous a night ago, I probably wouldn't be in those chains. After Charles had professed his love to me, I had freaked out. I wanted to expose Tristan so badly, but I was afraid. I wasn't only scared of what he could do to me, I was scared of what he could do to Charles too. Charles who had done nothing but love me exceptionally. Although I didn't love him back in the same way he loved me, I feared for his life. I was afraid of what Tristan could do if he eventually found out, and a part of me knew that I wasn't prepared to see the dead body of Charles yet. He had done a lot for me already, and trying to make him even do more while pretending I loved him was villainous. But what could I do?What choice did I have?Getting out of the warehouse where I was in wasn't going to be possible without an inside party. And that inside party was willing to do it without nothing in return. He was willing t

Chapter 120

EMILIA'S POVI continued eating, deciding not to think too much about it. That was what love did to people. It made them think less and use their heart more. It turned their brains to jelly and made them unreasonable. Love had happened to me, and I knew what it felt like. “Have you considered my proposal? We can be out of here as soon as possible, Emilia. You're the one holding us back, sincerely. I have everything in place, all I need is your word. Come on, you know we can do this. Together, it can work.”I smiled at him, wondering if he was thinking clearly. Tristan wasn't only a wolf, he was one of the most powerful ones. How was I sure that he wasn't going to find me with just a sniff? How were we sure that he wasn't going to fish us out and kill us?For a moment, I acknowledged the truth that indeed Tristan might have gone a little crazy. How much of a threat was I? How much of a threat did he consider me that he had kidnapped me without any just cause? It was clear that he had
