CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND ONE.

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND ONE. DANIELLE'S P.O.V. The night unfurled herself as she roused from the temporary slumber that she had been forced to take by the bright sun, and announced her arrival by casting her dull glow upon and wrapping the earth in the embrace of her dark folds. Two days and nights, very much like the present one, had passed since the incident that had taken place at the Valentino mansion, and like the earth had been subjected to by the night, I had been left in the dark about the details of the incident by my husband and the entirety of his family. The events of that fateful day were still, very clearly, ingrained into my memories and whenever I recalled what had happened, it caused me to burn with curiosity to find out why the things that had happened that day had gone down the way that they had done. More than anything, I wanted to find out who the strange woman who I had seen was, and why she'd had such an effect on the Valentino family. I wished th

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWO.

DANIELLE'S P.O.V. After nearly a year of being married to Adrian Valentino, I had come to realize that he loved to do things that left me both surprised and breathless; whether it was from him saying something, so ridiculous, that I was tempted to throw him out of the room, or from him exhibiting his level of expertise and experience in all things coitus related; whichever of the two ways that it was, Adrian Valentino always managed to leave me winded up and shocked. When Adrian had asked me, in a deep and husky voice laced with an emotion that I did not know, the question; "Can I kiss you?"; I had not expected it. So when he pressed his lips onto mine, I had been rooted to my spot on the couch, with my eyes wide open like saucers, because definitely not expected it either. His lips were soft and gentle as they moved against mine; they moved slowly and lightly on my own lips, much unlike the fervid and aggressive claiming of my lips by his own that usually came alongside our

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THREE.

DANIELLE'S P.O.V.The sight of Adrian's fist buried nearly halfway through the wall, where cracks had begun to form, was extremely disturbing. Alarmed by what I saw on returning to the living room, I rushed over to my husband's side to find out why he'd had a sudden change in mood, and with worry heavily lacing my tone, I asked; "Adrian! What is wrong?"When he turned to look at me, his light blue orbs flashing angrily with an intensity that I had never seen before, I knew that something huge had happened; and that which had thrown him into such a state of absolute fury was, obviously, not something good. With his nostrils flaring, his eyebrows creased and tightly knitted on his forehead, and his lips slightly open with heavy breaths, which heaved his chest up and down, escaping them, Adrian continued to stare at me with that intense wrath in his eyes."What is wrong, Adrian?" I had to repeat my question as Adrian continued to stare at me with such fury that it scared me.After heavi

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FOUR.

DANIELLE'S P.O.V. The days passed in a blur, rolling into weeks which, in turn, rolled into months and I spent my time alternating between Adrian and I's house, school, and the Valentino estate. After my tete-a-tete with my husband, Adrian, we had brain stormed ways to get rid of his irresponsible birth mother who had only returned to their lives to upheaval their stability, cause problems for the blooming family, and get herself some cash, free of charge, through blackmail. Although I was still reeling with all of Adrian's confessions and revelations to me, I kept my swirling mind under control, long enough to run up the stairs to the bathroom in search of the first aid box; run back down the stairs which I took two at a time, with the first aid box gripped in my hand; clean, disinfect, and bandage the bruises that were scattered across Adrian's fists in small, red, and angry looking cuts; and then brainstorming with him for ideas to get rid of his irresponsible biological moth

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIVE.

DANIELLE'S P.O.V. That night; the night of the date; Adrian and I slept in each other's arms after a very long time of abstaining from one another; we slept in each other's arms after being drained from the exhilarating and passionate activities that we involved ourselves in. That night would forever be a memorable one for me as it marked the start of something fresh, sweet, intimate, and passionate between my husband and I. The night had easily slid its way up to the top of my list, taking the crown for the best night that I'd ever had in all of my twenty four years of living. The date, although unexpected, would be forever ingrained in my heart as it had been such a wonderful and romantic event. Once more, Adrian had managed to shock me and this time, whether he meant to or not, he had won me over. As the days after our fervid activities stretched into weeks, Adrian and I could scarcely keep our hands off of one another. After spending the day time apart from each other, wi

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SIX.

DANIELLE'S P.O.V. The early morning sun light licked its way, mutely, through the closed cream colored curtains that covered the length of the windows in my new bed room, and fell on to my face. I felt a smile pull across my lips from the feeling of the sun rays that kissed my face, while letting a sigh of contentment escape from my lips. It was finally the D-day; the day that I was to finish my last exam for the semester and now more than ever before, I was closer to achieving my dreams; or more so, the dreams that my father-in-law, Alfredo had designed for the company at the expense of his one and only daughter in-law. Gently prying my eyes open, I threw away the blankets and comforter that I had tucked myself into the previous night, and buried my feet into my bathroom slippers. With my slippers slapping gently against the floors of my bed room, I made my way to the windows and threw the curtains wide open. I felt a surge of happiness swell in my chest as I watched

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVEN.

DANIELLE'S P.O.V. For, very possibly, the fifteenth time on that day, I declined another incoming call from an unsaved and unknown phone number on my mobile phone. The caller had been blowing up my mobile phone with calls since very early that morning and I had also been declining all of the calls ever since then, but instead of said caller reading between the lines by realizing that I was not interested in picking up the call and giving up on disturb me with calls, he or she, instead, only became even more of a disturbance as the calls only became more persistent. Almost immediately after I had declined the previous call, my ringtone blared from my phone's speakers and the same unsaved and unknown number flashed on the phone's screen. At the sight of the unknown caller ID, I let out a hiss through my teeth and groaned in frustration. On my reaction, my friends who had been busy contemplating what food and drinks to get from the school cafeteria for lunch, looked up from their

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHT.

DANIELLE'S P.O.V. As soon as I had dropped my pen for the last paper of the examination for the duration of the semester, I practically flew out of the lecture room, only having just enough time to bid my friends a quick farewell before I made my way to the school's parking lot where I had parked my car earlier in the day. The source of my hurry was not the fact that I wanted to get out of the school grounds as fast as possible because I had just concluded the semester's examinations; although it could be counted as one of the reasons as I had day dreamt and imagined how thrilling it would be to run out of the school after finally finishing the exams. The sole reason for my rush was the fact that I had an appointment to meet up with that afternoon; an appointment that I could not afford for any of my family members or friends to catch wind or get an inkling of. Once inside the confines of my car, I took in deep breaths to regulate my breathing which had been affected in m

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND NINE.

DANIELLE'S P.O.V. "You're expected back in three working days for the result of your tests." "Okay, doctor. Thank you very much for your time." "You're most welcome, Mrs Valencia." the doctor said. "Have a great rest of the day." I greeted. "You do the sane too, Mrs Valencia." she reciprocated. After bidding my farewells to Doctor Melissa Vamos, the obstetrician gynecologist that attended to me and directed me in the process of confirming whether the strip test that I had taken in the confines of my bathroom were accurate or not. After exiting the doctor's office, I felt a wave of nervousness wash over me once again- it was a different feeling from the type that I'd had on my way to the hospital and my entry into the doctor's office. This feeling was almost new as it felt very fresh and undiluted in its tenseness. The processes that I had undergone and being a partaker of while trying to confirm the suspicions that I had about the true state of my health had been n

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TEN.

DANIELLE'S P.O.V.When Adrian retracted his palms which he had placed around my eyes as a blindfold, I was surprised by the sight that lay before me in the living room; it could be said, and recorded, that once more, my husband, Adrian Valentino, had succeeded in surprising me- and this surprise of his was indeed, much like some of the few other occurrences of such, a pleasant one.Bared before me, on the marble floors of the living room, were rose flower petals- bright red petals that covered the expanse of the floors and arranged in parallel lines to mark off a pathway that led from the sitting area of the house to another part of our homestead; one which I was very eager to explore at that moment.“Oh, wow!” I said, my eyes trailing over the length of the living room’s floors.“Come now, my lady.” Adrian said, moving to stand beside me and bending his elbow in a gesture that mimicked that which the English gentlemen usually did in movies, “There is much more to see.” “Oh really?”
