The Prince's Ego

Chapter Fifty-one.Alaric's pov.I can't believe I saw Diana. After I saw Diana, I was still surprised that she was alive. I thought maybe it was someone that looked like her but my heart knew the truth, it was definitely her. But how come?I had watched her die, saw the machine had flatlined, witnessed them unplugging her from the life support machine. There was no way she was still living, she had even been dead for almost a week. How was it that she had stood in front of me?I had even felt the bond between the both of us fade away, I was finally free, but I felt it inside. I had rushed to complete the mating ritual because I needed something to feel, something passed the emptiness in my heart. Then it occured to me, the pain. The second the mating ritual was complete, I felt something was wrong— I felt a pain in my heart and then a presence. I didn't know what it meant and Diana coming back to life didn't cross my mind until I saw her face to face. She stood before me looking like

Unhappy Herbs

Chapter Fifty-two.Diana's povThe prince and his ‘new mate’ took their precious time before they left the queen's chamber. It took everything in me not to look at him. I was too hurt, too angry that he would betray me like that, then again, he had already rejected me, this shouldn't be on him.I didn't know what had happened, one minute the queen was seated, sipping her tea, the next minute she instructed that we tidied the place up. I brought the trolley out and placed the teacups and dishes into it. I could feel the queen staring at my face but I didn't budge. She dismissed us with a wave of her hand. I bowed before rolling the trolley out of the room. The other maid, who I still haven't learned her name was right behind me as she pulled both sides of the door closed. The queen never really addressed us with our names, all she needed to do was wave and we'd be at her service, either one of us, usually her.She threw a sideways look at me before she walked away. I didn't even bother

The Angry Mob

Chapter Fifty-three.Diana's pov.A mob of angry citizens gathered in the distance by one of the buses that had left the palace. I didn't know what had happened or what provoked them and was curious to check it out.I hadn't taken two steps forward before I was pulled back, I glanced from my hand where I was held to Ian who was holding me back, I raised an eyebrow in question.“I wouldn't do that if I were you,” Ian held me back by the arm with a resolute look on his face like he knew what was already happening.I shook my hand from his grip, “And why is that, what's happening over there?” He looked from me to the mob that was beginning to get louder, “They are angry citizens who do not agree to the Lycans rule over them, they do not like the fact that most of the supplies which they produce are taken to the upper city, leaving them with little to nothing, my grandfather is the same,” he said, indicating to the old man that had sold the herbs to us.I always knew that the Lycans trea

Mission 1 Accomplished

Chapter Fifty-four.Diana's pov.It was finally time for me to visit the king's chambers, it had taken me a while to get the perfect opportunity but I realized there wasn't the right time, there was just the present.I had overheard that the king would be having a late meeting with the ministers that night and I couldn't have found a better chance. Yes it was risky for him to still be in the palace but I had no idea when he would be leaving the palace. The reason behind this meeting was unknown, I didn't stay long to listen and I doubted it concerned me in any way.It was night time and I made sure of a few things, one; that the meeting had begun and all the ministers that needed to be present were. Two; that the queen wouldn't be needing my assistance in the middle of my operation, she had a habit of calling one of us.The kitchen doors were never locked and so I pushed it open and went straight to the cupboards where the cups and trays layed. I made one of the best teas that I had e

Sweats In Cupboard

Chapter Fifty-five.Diana's pov.I Picked up my heart that was this close to falling out of my chest. I had to reach the west wing but first I had to return the tray back to the kitchen. I turned on the faucet in the kitchen and washed the sweat off of me.What was the king doing there? Had they concluded their meeting? That was quick. If I had stayed in his chambers even for a second longer I would have been caught.I breathed out a sigh of relief, I thought I was going to be caught. I glanced at the orb which was upon the counter at a safe distance, water droplets dripped down my face. I was still very much afraid of the orb, its visions had plagued me for a while before they had subsided. Although I still had trouble sleeping, it wasn't as bad as it was the first time I had touched it. After I had calmed down a little bit, I grabbed the orb and made my way to the west wing.Tomorrow would have been a good time to have seen my future, but I have waited far too long. Something about

The Pentagon

Chapter Fifty-six.Diana's pov.I still couldn't move… My legs stood frozen in place from fear, it took me a brief second before I got out of the cupboard and stared at Luke questioningly, “What was that all about? Why was the king here and what did he mean by wiping out?” I voiced my concerns, and King williams angry expression flashed in my mind, it made my skin crawl.I wondered why he was so angry, he wanted to wipe out someone and my thoughts were on the chosen one, according to the prophecy. And, if he couldn't find that person then he was really going to wipe out everyone else. I was afraid for my own life, I didn't want to be killed just because this ‘chosen one’ didn't know what to do.I held the orb tightly underneath one arm while Luke led me out of the cupboard with the other, my legs were still weak from being crammed up in such a small place.“What did the king want from you?” I asked more forcefully this time. My thoughts were merely speculations, I needed to know what

Chaos, Diana

Chapter Fifty-seven. Diana's pov. I took a deep breath and let it go, "Was I truly ready?" I asked myself as I stepped into one of the triangles as instructed and waited while Luke stared at me. His stare only made me more nervous and so I avoided it and glanced down at the orb. The last time I was on this spot, I still could remember what had happened, but at least this time I would be prepared. I took a deep breath, “I'm ready.” I swallowed the lump that had formed in my throat. Luke nodded determinedly, “Stretch out your hands and touch the orb,” he instructed again. I stretched out my hands and let them linger. Before I touched the orb, it began to glow, I lifted my eyes to confirm, “Is it supposed to do that?” I began to ask when Luke's expression caught me off guard; his eyes were wide open as he stared at the glowing ball confused. He glanced at me, before I could ask if something was wrong I inhaled sharply as I was sucked into the orb, just like the first time. All the

Visions Or My Future?

Chapter Fifty-eight.Diana's pov.Darkness. Silence. Peace…I didn't know how long I was out, when I finally came through, I groaned and held my head in pain. I was on Luke's bed so I propped myself up on my elbows.Luke sat beside me with worry etched on his features, as much as the candles he had lit shone on his face,“What happened?” I asked as I looked around, the orb was still glowing atop the pedestal and I peered at Luke for an explanation.“I was about to ask you the same thing,” he chuckled. “What did you see?” I was confused until everything came crashing back to me in full force, everything I had seen; The lady, the dead people, the wolf, none of it made any sense. “I don't… know, it's all jumbled up, scattered,” I answered through the pain in my head.He stood up from the bed and brought over a glass of water for me to drink, I declined as water wasn't what I needed. I didn't know what I needed though but it wasn't water. “I should just go back now, maybe I'll see you la

Good News?

Chapter Fifty-nine.Alaric's pov.Preparations for the ceremony haven't even started, you can even get the whiff of celebration in the air but I was already tired. My father had held a meeting the night before where he had addressed the ministers on the development of things or rather the talking of things— How there was disturbance to the supply of goods to the upper city as well as the palace. Those werewolves have been stirring trouble ever since but it had always been minor, nothing too big yet.The king had put them in their place quietly and we hadn't heard of any disturbances again, so we could get back to discussing the ceremony.Although I would have said making use of the imperial guards was a bit too much, which I did, but, my father had informed me that they weren't that fazed by the normal guards and so he needed to exert dominance."THEY SHOULD KNOW THEIR PLACE OR THEY MIGHT JUST GET HURT." His words not mine. But I could tell my father was angry, not at the werewolves

Spilled Tea

Chapter Sixty.Diana's pov It's been a few weeks now and my ‘future’ visions have been letting up, at least that's what I'd like to call them. They've made my life a living hell and made me look like a crazy person, shaking my head every time just to swipe them away.Out of mind out of sight, right?I was on my way to the queen's chamber, I won't be escorting Merilyn to the briefing as it was not needed anymore, my duty was fixed. I waved goodbye to Merilyn, she had no idea how much better her work was, I had to be walking on eggshells around the queen and still made some errors according to her.“Are you okay?” I snapped my head to the side as Sarah came up to me with a look of worry and suspicion, “You've been acting all jumpy lately.”Sarah had really been a good friend to be, we had bonded and I was glad she was around even though I thought I couldn't trust her. I was just being suspicious of everyone since I came back to life and they had tried to put me down again.I'm glad I c
