The man had just come back from work and was sitting at the head of the glossy dining table inside a very richly decorated dining room. The arrival of a black escalade in his front yard drew Drew's attention to the window. He was currently on the phone speaking to someone but had to end the call. Kathleen woke up to the smell of pancake and that brought her out of bed. She had slept well last night, more than she has done for so long. Still married to her husband, she will be awake worrying about when he will come home, or thinking about why her marriage was disintegrating and what she could do about it.But last night was free of any such worry.She left the room, her feet encased in a soft bedroom slippers that Joe lent her last night. He couldn't say what he expected, but the woman who walked in behind the suit was certainly not his wife. Kathleen smirked at the sight of her husband's shocked face. Outwardly, with her sunglasses covering her face, she could hide the smugness she felt inside. Chapter 5: An idiot

It was really over, were the words that rang through Kathleen's mind as she got to her feet. She could feel Drew watching her like a hawk, and turned in his direction. She wore a thin smile that didn't reach her eyes. "I hope things work between you and your secretary," she said sincerely and then walked out, her lawyer on her heels. Her words left Drew dumbfouned, and unable to respond until the door hit Kathleen's back. He couldn't believe that his wife knew. So why didn't she say anything? Her silence about his affair, and him acting like an idiot few minutes ago left feeling like an idiot. After the door closed behind his wife was he able to snap out of his stupor and found his lawyer gawking at him, while wearing the are-you-insane-look. The mediator was no where to be found as well. Chapter 6: Her comfort food

"You like it?" Joe possed the question to Kathleen with a softened expression on his face as he watched the brunette intently like she was his favourite movie. They were sitting in an ice cream palour enjoying a cup of ice cream.Inside the palour was cooler than the raging heat happening outside. It is so sunny that people could physically feel the burn from the scorching sun. It's welcome coldness was not the only thing going for the palour. Joe joined his tired friend on the long red couch.
