ROSE After taking the catheter out, Adam leaves to see to other patients, letting me know that Nurse Frank will be in soon with meds and to take more blood. Tyson comes back in, and he pulls out the breakfast Adam brought for us. Holy cow, it all smells so dang good! And there is so much. Pancakes, biscuits and gravy, omelets, bacon, sausage, and cut up fruit with yogurt and granola. There’s also orange juice, apple juice, and coffee. Tyson makes me a plate with a little of everything. I devour my plate. The pancakes are by far, my favorite. “Oooooh, these are so fluffy and buttery. I can’t even tell you how long it’s been since I had pancakes last.” I moan as I lick the syrup off my lower lip. I look up at Tyson and he once again has stopped with his fork of food almost to his mouth and he is staring at me. “Um, Tyson. Are you okay?” I ask as I swallow my bite of buttery, syrupy goodness. TYSON After Rose finishes her food, yeah, she put it all away, she settles back into the bed, and we begin to talk. I want to know everything about her, not just how her lips and body feel pressed against mine. “So, tell me, what do you like to do in your spare time? Favorite flower? Favorite candy? Family, siblings, anything… I’m all ears.” Do I sound as desperate as I feel, wanting to know about her? Does she want to know things about me too? ROSE I smell coffee and dark chocolate. It is all around me, swirling in the white misty fog. I don’t know where I am, but I’m enjoying the aromatics. I feel his warmth as his large muscular arms encircle me and I step back into his embrace. I love his hands, arms and chest. They are so big and strong, making me feel safe and protected. I rest my head back on his chest and I realize he is shirtless. I turn around in his arms and press my breasts into that amazing chest. I guess I’m shirtless too, but it feels totally right. TYSON I exit the room to give Rose some privacy. I don’t want to leave, but I know she’ll be more comfortable with just Melinda there. When I hear her quiet exclamation of pain, I want to rush back in, but I hold onto myself and wait. However, I can’t contain Zeus’ growl when he hears her pain.
