Meeting friends

ALEX Before I could answer Grace, I got distracted by a call from Paul. Thank God he called, I didn’t know what I was going to say to Grace that would convince her to leave my room. I smiled sheepishly at Grace, watching her glare at me with a look that said “You’re not off the hook”,I dashed out of my office into the lounge to talk to Paul.“Hey dude, what’s up?”, “Hi, yeah man all’s good. Uh have you heard from Marga?”, he askedI was a bit confused. I didn’t know who Marga was, or why Paul would ask me about her/him.“Who’s Marga dude?”, I asked trying to clear up my doubt“The girl from the club two nights ago man. The one you gave $10,000”, he addedPaul didn’t know I gave her $12k instead of $10k and I wanted to keep it that way for some odd reason.“Uh no, I haven’t heard from her, why ask”, “She hasn’t been to work in 2 days, i was starting to get worried, and her number is unreachable”, he stated“Ah don't know man, maybe you should ask the other girls in the club, they sh

Dreams

MARGADon’t forget. 6:45 pm sharp, better be ready. My chauffeur will pick you up. He’ll give you a bag; in it, you’ll find a dress, a pair of shoes, and a clutch purse—and jewelry to match the outfit. Make sure you look stunning. I was awed by his audacity. What made him think I’d even want to go see him? He didn’t even ask me for my schedule or if I’d be free at that time. Such a grumpy man. I stared at his text a little bit longer, a line of sweat rushed down my spine as I felt a tingly sensation hover around my body. Uggh. I better catch some sleep now. I murmured. It was already 5:38 am and I hadn’t slept for a second. Today was going to be a long long day, the earlier to rushed to bed, the better for me. I rose from the dressing table and walked over to my bed, falling like a rock, forgetting to charge my phone which was almost dead.I slept off calmly after all the chaos earlier that night. No! I can’t let you hurt her, she’s only a child. She knows nothing. Do what you wa

Waiting for my guest

ALEXAs the first rays of sunlight gently peeked through the curtains, of my room, I wiggled in my cozy bed. I slowly opened my eyes, feeling well-rested and content after a restful night's sleep. The room was covered in a warm, golden light, casting a soft glow over everything it touched.I sat up and stretched, casually feeling stiff and sloppy. I could hear the chirping of birds outside, and a gentle breeze rustling the leaves of nearby trees. The air was crisp and fresh, carrying with it the promise of a new day.I knew I didn’t have to go to the office today. I had my assistant Gina cancel all of my meetings. I wanted to stay home today, moreover, I had a guest coming over later. With a warm smile on my face, I got out of bed and made my way to the window, to start my morning routine. I loved to watch the sunrise or at least be in the sun for 15 minutes daily. As I drew back the curtains, I was greeted by a breathtaking sight: the sky painted in hues of pink, orange, and gold a

Reminiscing

ALEXI made it right in time for breakfast. Breakfast for me was usually lonely, with no one to eat with, unless Julia or Paul were around. I’ve asked Grace to join me several times but she doesn’t listen. So now it’s just going to be me on the dining, eating alone. Speaking of Julia, I haven’t seen or heard from her in a while. She’s probably fine. If she were not, she’d be here nagging either about money or sex. I was going to call her to come over but for some reason I was so hesitant about it. And Paul, I could go over to his bar to pay him a visit anytime. I hadn’t seen him in 2 weeks, I wonder how he was. I made my way downstairs and into my dining room. I was greeted with the fine smell of fried bacon and garlic bread which enveloped the room. I liked my bacon medium rare, anything other than that, I made sure not to eat.The dining room exuded an air of refined elegance, with its soft, muted color palette and opulent decor. The walls were adorned with tasteful artwork. I w

Chapter 15

MARGAWhile in the bathroom, I wondered what tonight was going to look like. I had never been to his house, I didn’t know anything about him, not even his name. I slouched into my small size bath tub which was just perfect for me. It wasn’t the coziest or most fancy but at least it made do for my little bath times. I didn’t have to break a sweat on making an impression with what to wear ‘cause he said he’s sending an outfit for me. I didn’t have any proper clothes, I was going to wear any of my rags. A tingly sensation traveled through my body and a hush feeling of excitement brought a coy smile upon my face. For the first time, I think someone was actually interested in me. I didn’t want to get my hopes up, but his gestures were commendable.I rose up from the bath tub, stretching my hand out to my faucet for support to stand upright. I grabbed my towel and ruffled it through my wey my hair hoping to make it dry. I felt like a well plucked chicken after shaving every single strand
