Lillie’s POV I had barely run my hands across the spine of some of the books hung in the shelves when the door to the library creaked open. Instinctively, I turned my attention towards the door, just to see David walk in. Pure hatred and rage dwelled in his eyes as he stared at me. My heart thundered wildly behind my chest. I wasn't scared of him, but I had no idea why my insides always acted funny even from the slightest reaction from him. Some tables and shelves separated David and I, but it did nothing to protect me from fury radiating from his body. I was sure that if I went any closer, I would be burned to bits by David's anger. David turned away from me immediately, almost making me rethink if I had really seen the hatred in his eyes.
