She flopped back on the bed. “My body clock is all messed up,” she said. He rolled on top of her and kissed her, sipping from her lips and gently rocking his hips against hers. “Jake,” she said with a sigh, “we don’t have time for this.” The fake name was jarring to him. She hadn’t called him by name last night and for that he was glad. He rolled off her and ran a hand through his hair. His stomach rumbled again and she laughed. “You’re hungry.” His eyes popped open as she sat up, the sheet pooling around her waist. He was hungry, but not just for food. Why hadn’t his appetite for her waned? He expected after last night to have at least worn the sharp edge off his attraction to her, but apparently not. “I am,” he said, tumbling her into the sheets once again.
