Lena's POV. After Leo's declaration last night, he kisses me on my cheek and left the house. I didn't plan on saying anything back to him but even if I wanted to, I couldn't, his words shocked me that I couldn't even form any words if I tried. I left the dining room but I didn't leave the house, I went to the patio to tell the kids goodbye and when Zeo came over, I left and that's when I heard her, it's not like I was purposely listening in or anything like that. The pack is so quiet but Lena and Leo were right, it is beautiful. “So no one comes outside because of the disease?” I ask Zeo as he drives. “Yea, we don't know exactly how the disease spreads and why some people are sick and some aren't. So everyone just stays in. Every week, a truck delivers groceries and also another truck comes in to pick up the trash.
