Chapter 11

AUTHOR'S POV "Well, that forest we went to on the way here was just a diversion; the place I was really bringing you is here." Joshua parked the car in front of a massive club that was blasting music quite loudly. Because everything was so loud, Aileen immediately grimaced and covered her ears, but Joshua slowly removed her hands from her ears and held it in his. The heat from his palms enveloped her hands. "It is better to get used to it because then you will be able to associate different sounds with what they truly are." "What exactly do you mean?" Aileen tried to ask a question, but someone cut her off. As Aileen studied him, she noticed the black ears on top of his head twitching against his black outfit. The guy was aware that she was staring at him, so he gave her a tiny bow. When he raised his head again, he had a grin on his lips, and his adorable fangs were visible. "I'll be back in a few hours; in the meantime, you can take care of the car." Joshua gave over the keys to

Chapter 12

AILEEN’S POV "Whoa… This spot is stunning; I don’t know how I could have missed it all these years that I stayed here." I breathed in the scent of the clean river and the forest that was some miles away from us. It was a good thing that we chose to come to this place, the smell of alcohol, of sex and everything that was in between burned my nose. I held onto the railings as I raised my head and closed my eyes, I listened to the wind and thought about everything that had happened. The burden that had been weighing on my heart for a prolonged amount of time was finally lifted when I transformed into a werewolf. It had been a very long time since I was able to experience this kind of freedom, this liberty at being myself. I suddenly turned to Joshua who had been staring at me, I felt his eyes but I chose to ignore it. "You haven't been to this place before, have you?” He asked me and I shook my head, my tied hair followed my small movements. Whenever people stopped, they turned to star

Chapter 13

Author’s POV As soon as Aileen entered through the portal, her senses were assaulted by the powerful scent of werewolves and the spark of energy. In her line of sight was a vast area of land that was brimming with enticing greenery, the musty aroma of ancient forests, and the scent of the moist ground. The moon hung low in the sky, and its light shone brightly upon all of the werewolves as well as the towering trees. "Does time pass in a different way here?" Aileen had a question. In the other world, it was morning, but here in this place, it's already dark. However, based on the fact that Joshua gave a dismissive nod, it did not appear that this was the case. "The light of the moon always casts a shadow over this world. The elders say that the end of the world will come the day when the sun rises at this location. At the very least, this is what they believe." As Joshua led Aileen through the thick undergrowth, his fingers occasionally brushed against the palms of her hands. The c

Chapter 14

AUTHOR’S POV After receiving instructions from Joshua, who had gone out to take care of something else, one of the mansion's maids showed Aileen the way to her room. Both of them proceeded along the hallways in a deafening hush; neither Aileen nor the servants spoke a word, and Aileen did not care; she was immersed in her own thoughts, and she could also sense the menacing eyes that were directed towards her. In addition to this, she questioned something that left her perplexed and wondering, "Why are you leading me in circles? You were instructed to show me the way to my room, weren't you? Even though we have passed by this location three times at this point, we have not yet arrived at where you are taking me to?" Aileen came to a halt in the middle of the hallway, crossing her arms over her chest as she peered at the maid who had been motionless. Aileen scoffed and turned her gaze away from the maid; did she really believe that she would not notice? "If it was your intention to i

Chapter 15

"Even though Aileen has not accepted the mating mark yet, due to the fact that I stayed with her during her transformation, her inner wolf has recognized me as her mate and mine did too so there is nothing to worry about, Aileen does not have anything to do with whatever is happening." Joshua stated in a firm tone, and when Liam attempted to interject, Joshua looked at him, which made him to stop talking. He would never permit anybody to suspect Aileen of having any involvement in whatever is occurring, even with so many things happening; he would also have to cope with the council and their prejudice of humans and their old fashioned way of thinking. Joshua let out a sigh before rising from his seat and turning his back on the chair to face the windows. He turned his gaze to the moon. It is quite unlikely that he will be able to return to the mansion tonight given the volume of paperwork that is currently spread out on the table. Simply put, he wished and hoped that Aileen would n

Chapter 16

AUTHOR’S POV "Could you please bring some order to the court?" Lord Wallace, a member of the Werewolf Council and the second in command after Joshua, smacked his staff three times on the ground, and he also infused each strike with a little bit of energy so that it would better alert them to the fact that he was getting bored of listening to them argue with one another. After they had finished their conversation, Mr. Wallace turned his head to have a look at Joshua, who was being quiet and had his attention fixed on Harriet. Joshua was aware that he was being watched, and when he turned around, the two of them made eye contact. After the fight with Vivian, Harriet called for a meeting in the council. Not only was he angry that a ‘human’ woman had dared to injure his daughter, he was also angry that his house had been embarrassed. "This gathering was convened on behalf of Lord Harriet, whose daughter was injured by the woman who claimed to be Alpha Joshua's mate." When Mr. Wallace s

Chapter 17

AUTHOR'S POV "Did you hear? The human woman Alpha Joshua brought to the mansion last night had already bewitched him before he came back and that is why she holds so much power over him." While another of the servants was working on the laundry, one of them said, while vigorously wagging his tail. The woman who was standing next to him gave a rapid nod of her head. She had also heard about this, and she commented, "But you should not call her a human, she displayed her powers last night! Didn't you notice how she destroyed practically half of the mansion with her powers?" The woman yelled out in surprise. "You have it exactly right; that woman is not even a human. I was able to detect a faint whiff of kinship emanating from her, despite the fact that it was so faint. Now, don't stare at me like that; you know that I have the most acute sense of smell of all of us." Another woman, this time one who worked in the kitchen, chipped in some words as she sliced fresh red meat. She was on

Chapter 18

"Ah…" Aileen exhaled a sigh of contentment as she eased herself into the warm water that Lila had brought over for her. It was such a relief to have someone who would do what you wanted without making a fuss about it. Within the water, there were a lot of rose petals and scented soaps, and the sound of the water moving around was soothing to Aileen's hearing. It was like music to her ears. Her muscles were strained from the roughly five long hours of training that she had received from that slave driver, but her body was still tingling excitedly from the experience. "That jerk is even more heartless than Joshua; I don't understand how he could treat me in such a manner." Aileen's expression changed from one of displeasure to one of glee as she recalled the grin that was plastered across her teacher for the day face as he helped her practice. She could sense that he not only took pleasure in instructing her, but that he also took some delight in the fact that she did not give up when t

Chapter 19

JOSHUA'S POV After Aileen ran away from her room and into the dressing room, I sat on the bed and covered my face with my hands. I didn't know what came over me nor why I was acting like a wolf in heat. I knew that we have a connection, but I didn't think that it would be to this extent. The moment I saw her, I wanted to take her till she begged for mercy. I wanted to see her writhe under me and moan in pleasure, I wanted to see her… Fuck! The sound of the little moan that I heard when we kissed echoed in my mind and I could feel my d*ck rise up in response. I shook my head, I shouldn't scare her, it was still so early for this. Gradually, I was able to calm myself and although it was hard, my third leg was able to go down just a few seconds before she came out of the dressing room. She sat a few inches away from me and silence descended in the room. I could see that she wasn't comfortable with the silence but as I was about to speak, her soft voice sounded in my ears. “When d

Chapter 20

“So you started working here when you were just twelve years old?” I asked Terry who nodded in response. After Joshua left earlier this morning, I came out to train but Terry was already there. After some hours, we decided to rest for a bit and Terry told me of how he came to work in the mansion. “Then it's been a very long time, but, why are you still stuck being a mere guard? From your skills, I can see that you're good enough to be promoted or something… except people here see more than what I see?” I leaned back as Terry shook his head gently. “I chose to stay this way. I had gotten a chance of promotion years before now but I have friends that I don't want to leave behind, silly right? Some people say that I'm stupid to forgo my chances because of ‘mere’ friends.” Terry glanced at me but I pursed my lips and glanced at the darkening sky. “I agree with them.” I started but as Terry wanted to speak, I cut him off and continued, “I know that I do not know enough of the conce
