CHAPTER 62Ryker’s POV.Arnold did not bother joining us for breakfast again, the reason best known to me. After eating breakfast with Keleigh, and escorting her back to her room, I made my way to see Arnold in his study room. CHAPTER 64Keleigh’s POV.Something was happening. Something important enough for the head maid to come and dress me up. I sat in front of the mirror, watching as the maids hovered above and farther from me, curling my hair, wearing a necklace, straightening my dresses and doing every sort of thing that had to do with lady beauty. Two of them were standing beside me, the brushes in their hands dancing and painting my face. I have tried to ask the head maid who was supervising everything on what was going on but got only an answer,“I have no idea, ma’am. CHAPTER 66Keleigh’s POV.For some reason, I was relieved and at the same time not relieved at Selene badgering inside and interrupting the dinner. Relieved because I was starting to get tired of Ryker’s questions and running out of answers. And not relieved because selene badging in only means one thing now, trouble, and her spiting words that seemed like me trying to steal her man.“Why are you eating with her? Why is Ryker not here? Why am I not invited to this dinner? I thought no one was attending dinner tonight until my guard told me you were here? CHAPTER 68Keleigh’s POV.I didn’t know what came over me when I placed my lips on his, aiming for just a quick peck. But someone didn’t want just a quick peck this time. He pulled me back in when I tried to leave the kids, gently nibbling on my lips to give him full entrance to my mouth.It started out slow, the both of us sucking each other's lips with so much passion. CHAPTER 70 Keleigh’s POVIt was not until we got to Ryker’s study room did he drop me gently on the chair, muttering an apology and leaving again. I just sat there, frozen and a little bewildered. If Arnold knew already about it, it won’t take much time for everyone else to know about it. And the thought of everyone calling me a slut, or pointing fingers at me made a chill run down my spine.Ryker returned quickly, this time with a tray of food in his hand. He placed them gently on his table before turning to look at me, “let’s eat together.” I pressed my lips tight together, taking his stretched hand and placing mine into it. I sat gently on the chair and he circled back to his side, taking his seat also. We started eating in silence, no word leaving the very tense atmosphere. My eyes darted to him at intervals, waiting for him to break the silence with whatever he also thinks of me now, to say something of what he thinks, whether demeaning or reassuring.
