At exactly 9am, Camellia, Alexa and I walked into the police precinct with Mark following behind us. Before leaving home this morning, I had made sure to send the address of the precinct to him along with the time, he arrived earlier than us and stood outside the gate waiting. I could already sight him when we got few blocks closer, he looked so pale and a bit weak. I would tell this whole thing was taking a toll on him coupled with his lifestyle of smoking at all times, he looked sick to me. There was noo form of greetings or exchange of pleasantries between us as everyone kept a straight face, Alexa held unto my hands tightly while Camellia and Mark followed behind. We were taken into a room which had just few chairs in it and a small round table, I assumed it was the room set aside for questioning.

ALEXA’S POV:The next day came by quickly making the anxiousness in the pit of my belly to grow, I just couldn’t wait for all of these to be over. Drew had decided he would be going to the court with Camellia and I didn’t have to go with them, honestly that was the best thing for me right now considering the throbbing headaches I’ve been getting recently, going there would only make it worse. For some reasons, I had woken up this morning to be very active, even though I was anxious and a bit worried, I didn’t want to show it.‘’’My mom would be here in no time.’’ I said to Drew who was still trying to find himself a fit. He didn’t want to wear anything too serious or corporate, so he had to look for something good yet casual. Drew still hasn’t asked me anything about the text he saw in my phone, today was supposed to be the day for the court judgement, but Drew had received a text early this morning letting him know the court meeting was adjourned and that we would have to wait till two weeks. According to the judge, all evidences provided would have to be thoroughly investigated, but in the meantime Mark would have to be detained.I stood at the balcony as flashes and memory of the first night Mark assaulted filled my mind, I thought about how my mom had remained silent and allowed it continue for years. Something in me still holds a grudge against my mom but for the sake of peace and the fact she’s willing to change, has melted my heart. I decided to just focus on other things instead of dwelling in the past and allow it ruin my mood.What were the chances that I would have been happy today if I hadn’t bump into Drew at the club that night? Drew had asked that I take the kids and everyone for shopping to get new clothes and other stuffs, I haven’t really gone for any proper shopping since I came here. My clothes were getting too tight as a result of my protruding belly, my mom too needed some new clothes as she didn’t come here with any of her stuffs.
