CHAPTER 91 Where's Lily?

The adrenaline coursed through Garrett's veins, his heart pounding hard in his chest. He stood amidst the chaos of the battleground, panting heavily, his wolf form still dominant. With a guttural growl, he crushed the last remaining hunter in his mouth. Garrett's breaths came in ragged bursts as he released the lifeless body and turned to face Adam, his Beta, who looked ragged. The blade of a dagger was still stuck in his eye. He was surprised to see him as he assumed that Matthew would have remained with his mate. "Adam," Garrett panted, his eyes wild with the remnants of the battle's frenzy. "How many casualties?" Adam's golden eyes met Garrett's with an understanding that ran deeper than words. He nodded, his chest heaving as he caught his breath. "Many. Everyone has lost someone and some have been lucky. One of the prides that was closest to the bomb, the son only remains. The hunters have retreated. Whatever they came here for, they have gotten," he began. Garrett shifte

CHAPTER 92 Sweet Dreams

When Lily came to, she found herself lying on a cold metal table, surrounded by surgical instruments and unfamiliar technology. She tried to move, but restraints around her wrists and ankles held her firmly in place. 'Dina, Dina, help me. We are strapped down. We need to get out of here,' Lily called out to her wolf, but there was silence. She couldn't even feel Dina. Panic surged within her as she strained against her bonds with a feral growl. "So interesting. The color of your eyes changes when you reach out to your beast. So very interesting." A figure stepped out from the shadows at the sound of her struggles. It was a woman with sharp features and piercing green eyes. She wore a white lab coat, and Lily could tell that she was the one responsible for her being bound to the table. The woman regarded Lily with a cool detachment, as if she were nothing more than an object to be studied. "I'm pleased that you're awake. I was worried they may have given you too much of the se

CHAPTER 93 Such a Naive Fool

Brandy entered the room where her mother was sitting. A quiet storm of resentment and confusion swirled within Brandy. Things were getting out of hand, and she needed to say something. "What do you want, Brandy? If you're not going to say anything and just stand there annoying me, you can get out," Mandy said, breaking the silence. "We need to talk about getting this slave bond removed from me. I did not sign up for this," Brandy stated. Mandy regarded her daughter with a mix of condescension and annoyance. "Brandy, must we revisit this tiresome topic again? You brought this predicament upon yourself; you chose to lie to get Matthew. You knew the consequences of your actions. You can figure out a way out of this situation." Brandy's eyes glimmered with tears, but she refused to let them fall. "How can you talk to me like this? You didn't want Lily to be with Matthew, either. You told me to pursue him." "Hmm, I did no such thing," Mandy said matter-of-factly. "You did, and

CHAPTER 94 What Did You Do to My Wolf?

[Sexual Assualt] "Nothing," Brandy quickly lied, "she just woke up." Matthew turned his full attention to Brandy. He gripped both sides of her face harshly causing her to yelp in pain. "What did I tell you about lying, Brandy?"   "Stop it! Leave her alone," Lily said.   "Really, Lily? You're still protecting her after everything she has done. But, for you, my love, I will let her go this time," Matthew said, and  he then slung Brandy away from him. "I am not your love," Lily stated. "And I am just defending my sister. You don't think I can't smell the mate bond on you. You're disgusting." "You hurt me, Lily. What you're smelling is not a mate bond, but a slave bond. I told you that the only mate for me was you," Matthew responded, causing Lily to look from Matthew to Brandy in disbelief. Brandy didn't meet her gaze, which confirmed that Matthew was telling the truth. "You dishonor her by doing this. Why? Why would you do this to her?" Lily exclaimed. "Because she kept m

CHAPTER 95Kill Him

"No! No, please!" Matthew pleaded with Kenneth. He could feel Baldur fading away. Tears streamed down his face as he realized what he had done. The excruciating pain from the loss was making him slip into unconsciousness. "It's already done. Normally, a wolf would fight against the poison. How sad that even your wolf would rather die than be bound to you," Kenneth said coldly. "Our blood pact has been fulfilled. Be thankful that I didn’t just kill you. Now you can start a new life as a human." Dina howled in agony within Lily. She never wanted this fate for Baldur. He had been unfortunate to be tied to such an awful person. ‘Baldur!’ Dina cried out, trying to connect with him to say goodbye, but it was too late. His essence was gone. Lily was having whiplash from everything happening. Tears streamed down her face as she looked at Kenneth and then back at Matthew, who was now lying motionless on the ground. Losing your wolf was one of the most painful experiences, and how did he

CHAPTER 96 Red Wolf

"Fucking hell!" Ethan cursed as he ran his hand over his face in frustration. He was exhausted. They had spent the majority of the day digging people out of the rubble and Ethan didn't feel comfortable leaving, going back to the safety of his land while his people were suffering. The casualties were significant, and the grief of the victims' families hung like a heavy cloud over him. He couldn't help but feel responsible for the safety of his people. Ethan had failed to prepare in case of an attack, but he never thought that this would happen. He never thought Kenneth would stoop so low to do this. And now, rogue packs were beginning to take advantage of the situation. One pack had already been taken over and he would need to acknowledge their claim or destroy them. On top of that, there were so many in need of help. "My King? My King, are you there? What would you have us do?" his warrior said through their telepathic link. "Issue warriors to each pack and pride. Make sure t

CHAPTER 97 Why I Can't Feel Him Anymore?

"I know my mate is dead!" Bethany snapped, causing Kelly to instinctively cover her mouth in shock. "That's what I know. You want to know what else I know?" "Bethany, I'm…" Kelly started, but Bethany interrupted her as she began pacing angrily. "I know, my son, your grandson is barely clinging on. I know that he may never see again, and he may lose a leg because of silver poisoning. He will never be Alpha now. His life is ruined. What the hell do I not know about this situation? What the fuck did I need to see by being there?" Bethany snarled. Deep down, Bethany felt regret about not going with them to the trial. Perhaps if she had, she would have been able to save them, but where they were, Bethany would have more than likely been killed along with her mate. Kelly's heart ached at the pain in her daughter's eyes. "Bethany, I'm so sorry," she said, taking a step toward her, hoping to offer some comfort. But Bethany pushed her away, her expression fierce as she glared at Kelly.

CHAPTER 98 We're Not Related

Lily's eyes widened in disbelief, her gaze locked onto Brandy as if the world had just shifted beneath her feet. "What do you mean he's not my father?" she stammered. "What are you saying?" Brandy looked depressed as she didn't want to have this conversation. She helped Lily out of the bed and said, "Let's get you into a bath first." Lily wanted to argue with Brandy but as the adrenaline began to fade, she started to feel the pain in her body. She just nodded and let Brandy help her out of the bed. Brandy wrapped the sheet around her, tying it into a knot before leading her out of the room. Brandy led Lily back to her bedroom. It was bare because Lily had moved all of her belongings to Garrett's villa. The thought of Garrett made Lily sad. She hoped he was okay. 'We need to worry about ourselves for now,' Dina said. 'This is all weird. Why is Brandy being nice to us? She has never been this nice.' Lily was also confused and slightly frightened by the attitude change. Did Br

CHAPTER 99 To All of You

In the sterile confines of the pack hospital, Matthew lay motionless on the bed, his once vibrant form now pale and frail. Kelly was inconsolable, her anguished sobs filling the room as she clung to her dying son's hand. The scent of despair and grief hung heavy in the air, a suffocating reminder of the tragedy that had unfolded. Jack stood by the bedside, his fists clenched in impotent rage. His eyes bore into Ethan demanding answers. "How could this happen? How could someone kill a werewolf's wolf without an Elder's involvement?" Ethan's expression mirrored the gravity of the situation as he explained, "It should be impossible, Alpha Jack. No one but the Elders should possess the knowledge or the power to do this." "Then, Elder Richard did this!" Kelly said hysterically. "No, that is impossible. All the Elders are accounted for. Elder Richard would not have been able to do this. Whoever did this must have been taught how to do this," Ethan explained. Kelly continued to so

CHAPTER 100 A Fight

"I did as you asked, Luna," The mousy little Omega stood in front of Mandy, trembling in fear. She had already been beaten for not getting information for her, so she hoped that Mandy would be satisfied with what she had to tell her. "Finally. I hope it is worth my waiting," Mandy said. Her frustration had grown to a boiling point. Kenneth's recent behavior had left her feeling uneasy and resentful. He was evasive, secretive, and had been avoiding her like a plague. The joy she had anticipated during the attack had been shattered by Kenneth's refusal to engage with her. "It is, my Luna. I have found out the reason why Alpha has been acting so weird," the Omega stated. "Stop wasting time and speak then. What have you learned? Tell me what you have learned," Mandy questioned. She had hoped that the chaos of the attack would be the catalyst for them to unite, to revel in the ensuing power and control. Instead, Kenneth had retreated into his study, leaving her to wonder what was
