Chapter 111

Valerie: It took me two minutes to process what Alessandro just read and what Alaric had mentioned. And the fact that the Lycan’s eyes were fixed on mine as if what he just told me was the most causal thing was even more alarming. But I could tell that he was surprised by the fact that I didn’t know the truth of who my father was. The idea of him keeping something like this from us was one thing that I didn’t understand. Or maybe he didn’t keep it from US. It was just kept from ME. I took a sip of the wine that Rheniera gave me, and she laughed, shaking her head at me. I looked at the man for a second too long and he studied my expression, knowing that I neither liked what I heard nor accepted it. I didn’t even understand how my brother managed to fool him, but I knew one thing; this was going to be one hell of a problem. “How did he manage to fool my father into believing that he was the chosen phoenix?” I asked, voicing out the only thing that I could say. My heart ached at the f

Chapter 112

Alessandro: I kept my eyes on my mate as she sat out on the porch, clearly not knowing what to say or do as she got lost in her thoughts. We were still at the D’Angelo Estate, but with everything that she heard, I was surprised that she was yet to snap at someone. She wouldn’t even approach Rheniera, who I knew was waiting for her in the back garden. “I do believe that you will not be helping her by standing inside while she is sitting in front of the door.” Alaric said from behind me. I turned to look at the Lycan who raised an eyebrow at me. “I would go, but I doubt that she would be speaking to me, nor do I think that she would be willing to give me a chance to speak to her.” “For a person who claims to like her…” “I do, more than anything in the world, I do.” He said, stopping me. “And I would do anything for one moment with her, for her eyes to meet mine with the same feelings that I hold for her. But I know for fact that forcing myself on her would not be doing that, and har

Chapter 113

Valerie: If anyone would have told me that small words like what Alessandro had told me would make my day; I would have told them that they were lying. But here I was, curled up in my mate’s arms as I found myself getting lost in the moment. “And here I was thinking that you ran away,” Rheniera stated, crossing her arms over her chest. “I have been waiting for you for the past hour, and you’re sitting here, cuddling, might I add.” A small smile played on the woman’s lips, telling me that she wasn’t angry, but I had to admit, I didn’t know how this training was going to be. “I was initially debating on my life decisions…” “Too late to do that, little dove. You are to accept things as they are to be able to fight, and if we are going to win this war, we are not going to be doing so with you laying in your lover’s arms, cuddling, might I add.” She said, and I laughed. Alessandro nodded, and the two of us slowly got up, watching as Rheniera stepped back, allowing us to come forth t

Chapter 114

Alessandro:“Being who you are, and having the power that you do, you can foresee what we are to do in short periods. While longer ones might need more power, and are not recommended as I told you, you can now at least see what I would be doing and how I could be attacking you.” Rheniera said, looking at Valerie. My mate raised an eyebrow at her, and I stood back, allowing her to do her thing. At this point, I knew that there was no harm to come. At least, until they got what they wanted. I wasn’t dumb, this was about a war, and one that they aimed to win. Real intentions were only going to show when it was done, and I did hope that things didn’t backfire when that happened. But I knew that whatever their intentions were, I wasn’t going to let our guards down in this state.“You are going to need to know how to fight those that are stronger and deadlier than you are. And while I am well aware that you know how to fight, I know that you could easily end up getting harmed if things get

Chapter 115

Valerie: “You really are a strong bitch,” Rheniera said, and I smiled, helping her stand. She shook her head at me, and I took a step back as I looked at Aurora, watching as she smiled. She crossed her arms over her chest, and I took a deep breath, trying to catch mine. “I did tell you that I wasn’t impulsive. But being who you are, you chose to underestimate, now I doubt that you wouldn’t be doing that anymore.” I said, and she laughed, shaking her head at me. I took a step back, turning to go inside, knowing that we were going to have to freshen up. “We have a few things to deal with, and I think that we should be going inside before we find the men burning the Estate down. It has been quiet for long enough, do you not agree?” “Indeed, I do.” Rheniera said, looking at the door. “And knowing my brothers and your mate, I doubt that the three of them can stay in one room without destroying it completely. Therefore, there are high chances that someone has his head hung on a wall.”

Chapter 116

Alessandro: I wrapped my arm around my mate as I kept my eyes on the painting that the bastard drew of my mate, and I couldn’t help but clench my fist as I looked at it. His eyes met mine, and the smirk that played on his lips was one that annoyed me more than I could let out. “You know, you really have the audacity to play a dark game like this one, Alaric.” I said, glaring at the man who smirked. He looked at Valerie for a second before shaking his head in question, his expression sarcastic, and I knew that he understood very well what he was doing. If anything, right now, he was doing it on purpose. “To think that I am playing a game, Alessandro, only tells me the kind of man that you are. But right now, I don’t have time to waste with you, and I know for fucking fact that you are going to have to find a way to understand that, or you are going t be dealing…” “I am going to be dealing with what?” I said, stopping him. I let Valerie go and her eyes widened in surprise as I gra

Chapter 117

Valerie: I sat on the couch, staring into space as I got lost in my thoughts. I didn’t even know how things were going to be and I didn’t know how I was going to be able to find myself looking at Alaric. The fact that the man was here earlier, drawing me, painting me was something that I didn’t understand. And though I knew that others might have found it as romantic, I couldn’t help but find myself hating every moment of this. The door was knocked twice, and I looked up to find Ned entering the room with a raised eyebrow. “The last person that I expected to see here is you, I have to admit that much.” He said, putting his phone in his pocket. He looked at me for a second too long, and I couldn’t help but find myself growing small under his intense gaze. “I am guessing that you argued with my brother?” “Your brother has more nerve than any other man that I have met in my life, and believe me, you are going to be surprised with the number of men that I have met in my life.” I sai

Chapter 118

Alessandro: I looked at Valerie for a second, watching as she sat on her chair in the plane without saying a word. The fact that she was angry with me was something that I couldn’t blame her for, but I knew very well that I hated it with everything that I had in me. Aurora looked at me for a second before looking down at her feet, knowing that it would be best not to approach me right now. The woman not only tried taking me for a fool, but also tried stealing from me, and that wasn’t something that I took lightly. However, for now, I knew that it would be best not to speak to her. I sat on the chair beside my mate who looked out the window, avoiding my gaze, and I took a deep breath before putting her necklace on her lap. She was going to need it, and I knew that if she gave it to me, it was because she trusted that I would be keeping it safe for her. But that didn’t mean that she wasn’t going to need to be wearing it when I knew that we were entering the lion’s den. She looked d

Chapter 119

Valerie: I woke up to Alessandro running his finger on my arm. I knew that me sleeping on planes was a habit that I had, therefore, I wasn’t surprised that I dozed off. But then again, that was the case with almost everyone. There was a time when they literally shut off all the lights as the flight attendants seemed to notice that the entire plane was asleep. And though fully aware of my surroundings, it was good to get enough rest throughout such a journey. “Morning,” he whispered, and I smiled, leaning in to peck his lips. The fact that we made up as we were going back to fight this was something that I was happy about. At least I knew that things would be going on one right track in this messed up alliance. “Good morning,” I whispered back to him. He tightened his arm around me for a second before letting me go, knowing that I wanted to get up to freshen up. I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes before tying my hair in a messy bun, knowing that I needed to change my clothes too.

Chapter 120

Alessio: “What you are doing is crazy,” Daniella said, glaring at me. “Don’t tell me that you are worried about your little lover and his mate?” I asked, raising an eyebrow at the woman. She pulled me toward her, forcing me to look her in the eye before pointing at the aircraft as the pilots had it holding. “I think that you of all people should know that the last person that I am going to be worried about right now is Alessandro. But you are holding innocent people hostage, Alessio, and that is far worse than anything that you have done before.” She said, glaring daggers at me. “We did not agree on this,” I kept my men standing with their guns pointed at the employees, and I knew that they understood that one wrong word meant that their lives would be taken. If we weren’t going to be able to kill them, then I knew for fact that we were going to be able to force them into submission. And knowing that Valerie’s daughter was somewhere close, I knew that they weren’t going to be run
