Chapter 21. Destined mate

Amalia’s povAs soon as our conversation ended, I went back to my room to sleep. I was very exhausted from giving birth and everything else. Sleep didn’t come easy to me as I was replaying everything that happened in my mind again and again.I cried so much before finally falling asleep. I slept only because I was imagining Peter next to me cuddling me and this helped me relax. My wolf was in pain too and I could feel it, she lost her mate as well. She hadn’t spoken to me since Peter’s sacrifice, she was remaining silent mourning him. She spoke to me only after two hours to wake me up to check on our pup and feed him. After that she woke me up again every two hours for the same reason. I woke up the next morning feeling physically and emotionally drained. The weight of grief still lingered in the air, but I knew I had to find a way to heal both myself and my wolf for the sake of our baby. It was time to face the reality of our new chapter without Peter by our side. During breakf

Amalia’s povThe days that followed were filled with a constant cycle of exhaustion, grief, fear but love too. My family and Tatiana were supporting us and they were trying to spent as much time as possible with me and my son. Christopher on the other hand hadn’t speak to me and he hadn’t accepted my rejection either. It was bothering me that he had a pull of me due to our bond. I was feeling like I was betraying Peter every time that I saw him and I felt the need to get closer to him. My wolf was feeling the same, even thought he was her destined mate she was feeling like she was betraying Peter and his wolf too, the father of our pup who had sacrificed himself to save us. This meeting with the Vampire King was crucial in order to protect my son and ensure his safety within the supernatural world. With me through the portal came Tatiana and after us were my dad, Christopher, and John. My brother wanted to come instead of my father, but he insisted that he was the future of our pack and that he had to remain safe. They wanted to come through the portal first to protect us but I insisted on going first.  He would feel less threatened by a woman with a child than by three lycans. The minute that we entered, the place was filled with vampires ready to attack us. Chapter 25. Two sides of the coin

Tatiana’s povBeing back there was bringing back all the bad memories that were hunting me. I could feel the weight of the past pressing down on me as I stepped into the familiar surroundings. The room seemed to hold echoes of pain and sorrow, reminding me of everything I had tried so hard to forget. How could this man be allowed to hold his grandchild? He didn't deserve happiness, family or love, he deserved to be alone. My heart was full of hatred for him. I wanted him to be accountable for everything that he had done to me. As I watched him cradle the innocent child in his arms, a surge of anger and resentment washed over me. The thought of him experiencing joy and love while I carried the burden of his actions felt deeply unjust. I yearned for justice to be served, for him to face the consequences of his deeds and understand the pain he had caused. Maybe it was a mistake coming here, Amalia and the baby proved to be safe here, they didn't need me. A part of me maybe hoped that
