CHAPTER 101

Chapter 101 Bryan's POV I had been to this pack several times but today I had no idea I'd be here to see my parents in-laws, unannounced. Ciara shivered at her mother's icy tone and ran into me. I adjusted Lacey in my arms and grabbed her shoulder. “What's wrong?” I asked as I studied her closely. “This was a mistake, let's just go back home,” she muttered as she struggled against me. I shook my head. We couldn't just run off at the first sign of danger. She obviously had a reason for being here today and if she didn't accomplish it, I wasn't going to let her go. I shook her slightly. “You need to face them. Once you get over this fear, you'll be invisible.” She opened her mouth and started to talk but I didn't let her finish. “Go ahead and do what you need to. I'm right here.” I shook my head and nodded towards the other woman standing there. “Good day Ms….” I had no idea what her name was. “Alpha Bryan,” she frowned as she watched me closely. “Why wou

CHAPTER 102

Chapter 102Ciara's POV “One, toe…keep counting.” I obeyed and as I swung at the dummy, I counted his punch delivered out loud feeling energetic after every hit. It had been two weeks since I visited my parents and in that time I was still unable to wrap my head around what I am. I went from being the useless weak and worthless Omega to being a dire wolf in the blink of an eye. “Now take a swing at me,” he called breakfast into my thoughts and I obliged giving it my best shot. Since I got my wolf, I was stronger and faster and with Bryan I could use it to my advantage because I was a distraction for him. I heard a groan beside me and giggled as I met Bryan's gaze. “You're enjoying this a little too much don't you think?” he whispered with a scowl and I shrugged as I swung at the him again. He dodged just in time and grabbed me, wrapping his arms around my waist. “Focus on the lesson, teacher, then maybe I wouldn't be beating you so badly.” I teased and he growled as his hold

CHAPTER 103

Chapter 103 Bryan's POV Things have been too quiet around the pack. The killings have suddenly stopped and all is right in the world again. Even though I was relieved, I still couldn't shake off the feeling that something wasn't right. I felt like something big was upon us but just couldn't tell what it was and it was messing with my head. Ciara was honing her Dire wolf skills and she was getting really good at it. I was proud of the woman she was becoming but I was also worried she'd be targeted once her secret got leaked. Was it selfish of me to wish she was still the weak useless Omega people always panned her out to be? Maybe but at least she was safer then. I kicked a rock and huffed, my breath coming out like puffs of smoke. It was that time of the year where everything was freezing and cold. It had been snowing for a week already and I wasn't used to it. “What did that rock do to you?” I heard from behind me and sighed. I remained there though and didn't bot

CHAPTER 104

Chapter 104 Ciara's POV I watched Bryan go, several unknown emotions coursing through me all at once. I had never seen him like with anyone else except Orion and he deserved it most of the time. But what could this sweet looking woman have done to deserve that side of him? “Don't worry about it, he's just angry with me,” she sighed and dropped her fork, the sound cutting through my thoughts and bringing me back to the present. I reached for her hand and gave her a gentle squeeze. “What happened between you two? He seems really pissed at you,” She hesitated and then finally sagged in her seat. “I left.” She summarized as if I was supposed to understand those two simple words. “Bryan had a difficult childhood. After hisother died, Alpha Stone officially married Luna Stone and they had Orion. I came before all that.” I leaned forward, my attention peaked. “Alpha Stone had me first obviously through one of the maids but he never gave her the recognition she deserved so I was

CHAPTER 105

Chapter 105 Ciara's POV “Here,” Brianna said finally as she sat on a rock. I sighed and collapsed on the ground feeling weak like my old self would. “Are you okay?” She asked me to stretch her hand out and I nodded. “I just need a few minutes to catch my breath.” I told her and she laughed then fell back and cared not to hurt herself. We stayed like that for a while then she broke the silence by laughing. The sound was so unexpected, I was startled. “I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. I just…I just,“ she paused and then shook her head. “Never mind, I don't want to burden you with my problems.” I sat up with a frown and reached for her hand. “Hey, you're not a bother and ignore Bryan. He's just playing tough but he's really just hurt because you left,” “Does he even know why I left?” She fired at me and I took a moment before responding. “Did you tell him?” I shot back and she flinched as if I actually aimed an arrow at her that hit her square in the chest. She

CHAPTER 106

Chapter 106 Bryan's POV “What are you doing here Brianna?” I asked without looking at her. I smelled her before she crossed the hall. “I'm not going to ask how you knew I was here.” she sighed as she walked in. “Why are you still here?” I still wasn't looking at her. I was expecting Orion because we had a meeting. The fact that the killings had stopped didn't mean we were in the clear. Also Ciara was a dire wolf now so it was only a matter of time before she was targeted, I had to be ready. Orion didn't know she was a dire wolf and I intended to keep it that way. The less people who are aware, the safer she'd be. Or that's what I keep telling myself. “What else do I need to do to make you forgive me for leaving?” She asked, pulling me out of my thoughts and I sighed. “Brianna please don't pretend like you care okay? You should just be on your merry way back to wherever you came from.” Her eyes glazed with hurt but I ignored it. “I see she didn't tell you,” she said

CHAPTER 107

Chapter 107 Ciara's POV “Did you have fun today?” Bryan's voice reached my ears as I closed the door to our room. I shrugged and walked into the room, leaning against the doorway as I looked at him. He was sitting on the bed, starting down at some files. “You brought work into our bedroom?” I asked with a frown. He sighed and looked up. “I'm sorry, backlog but I wanted to come to bed. I have missed you,” I held my breath as he dropped the files and walked up to me. “I've been here.” I told him in a nonchalant tone and he narrowed his eyes. “You know what I mean. I don't want to fight, baby, I hate when we fight.” I wrapped my arms around his neck. “I hate fighting with you too.” I rested my head against his. “I just wanted you to accept your sister back. I'd give anything to have a sibling right now but you know how my family is.” “I thought I was your family,” he sounded hurt but he had a sneaky smile on his lips. I rolled my eyes and kissed him. “I am

CHAPTER 108

Chapter 108 Bryan's POV “You did what?” I roared as I turned to stare at Ciara. I clenched my fists and stared at her. “Relax, it's not that simple.” She assured him, holding her hands out. “I am not stupid babe, I know not to reveal myself like that.” I scoffed and rolled my eyes. “Seriously? You're going for a run. How do you intend to hide yourself?” She hesitated and didn't respond immediately. Then she grinned and shrugged. “I'm playing the role of the weak and useless Omega that I am.” My facial expression morphed from rage to confusion and then finally I grinned. “Wel, aren't you brilliant?” She chuckled and shook her head. “I know. You didn't think I would reveal myself to your psychotic sister did you?” The smile on my face was wiped off instantly at her words and as I was filled with irritation. “She's not my sister,” I whispered through gritted teeth. “I'm sorry, I'm sorry.” She apologized quickly and I sighed. “You're going to be the death of me woman,”

CHAPTER 109

Chapter 109 Ciara's POV Brianna suggested we start our run on foot in human form before she would shift and carry me on her back. I had left her and Bryan to talk privately but I was uneasy, bursting at the seams wanting to know what was said. The energy about her had changed when she met me in the garden and I knew their conversation had been tense which peaked my curiosity further. “You're staring,” she commented and I flushed. I quickly looked away and continued jogging. “I’m sorry, I just got lost in thought,” She stopped and placed her hands on her hips. “What's on your mind? You can be free with me,” I hesitated before replying. “How did your talk with your brother go?” She laughed and nodded. “I knew that was what you were mulling over in your head.” she raised an eyebrow. “What do you want to know?” “I know you both have a lot of things to talk about and I'm just curious about how it went. He said he'd give you a chance.” She nodded. “He did.” Afterwards, she

CHAPTER 110

Chapter 110 Bryan's POV I stormed out as soon as I heard noises outside and glared at Brianna who was lying on the ground with Ciara unconscious beside her. “What happened?” Orion was standing beside me wordlessly but I could feel how restless he was. “We were attacked.” She said in a breathless tone. “It seems most of your pack members aren't very fond of your choice in a Luna.” She staggered to her feet. “This wouldn't have happened if she had remained with Orion.” I growled and stepped forward. “How do you expect me to believe that you had nothing to do with it?” She scoffed. “If I did, you have no way of proving it.” She spat on the ground. “Although your mate held her own for a weak and useless Omega.” My heartbeat picked up as I bent over Ciara's limp body. Had she shifted out of desperation to protect herself? “And what is little Orion doing here? Does my sister know you're here?” she asked, turning to look at Orion. Orion ignored her as he came to stand by my side. “
