CHAPTER 111: SAVE RODRIGO

TANYA'S POV Sitting quietly after Dante left, I turned around and willed myself to go back to sleep. Less than an hour later, Dante and some guards burst into my room, dragging me out. “What is going on?” I asked. Of course, they didn't answer me. “Tie her hands so she doesn't escape,” Dante ordered one of the bodyguards with a scar above his upper lip. Scarface moved closer to me, grabbing my hands and twisting them back painfully before tying them. “Are you going to tell me what is going on?” I asked again as I was being dragged forward. Dante didn't reply and kept looking around wildly as his bodyguards shielded us, guiding us outside. “I guess not.” Walking outside, I realised I hadn't been out in a while. I looked around to see where we were, but only thick bushes surrounded us; it was hard to see anything other than the bushes. How did I even get here? I could have sworn we were in the city before. One of the guards grabbed my arm painfully, hurrying me tow

CHAPTER 112: ANYTHING FOR THE WOMAN I LOVE

RODRIGO’S POV My car sped quickly to the place where Tanya was being held. The location was deep within the forest, far from any signs of civilisation. I hadn't seen anyone throughout my journey here. I pushed the pedal to the floor, ignoring traffic lights and speed limits. The urgency of the situation left no room for caution. My mind raced as fast as the car, each passing second amplifying my fear for Tanya's safety. My phone buzzed beside me. Picking it up, I answered it without checking the caller, “What is it?” “Sir, we are right behind you.” My bodyguard said. Looking through my mirror, I noticed four cars following behind me. “Okay, good.” Without waiting for his response, I hung up and threw my phone on the passenger seat. Dave had managed to find a video from a security camera that showed her being taken there. Every time I replayed it, my heart twisted in pain. Mi Cariño. The short footage showed Tanya and her father being dragged into a van, her eyes wide wit

CHAPTER 113: LOVE AND FAMILY

RODRIGO'S POV "No!" Tanya's voice ripped through the air, distracting me from what was happening. She sprinted out of the car, her steps frantic and unsteady, like a bird with clipped wings. Her face was hurt, and she was probably in a lot of pain, but it seemed like she was hell-bent on stopping me. The way her breath hitched as she closed the distance between us made me almost laugh. She held her hand up as she bent down to steady her breathing, "You can't…. Oh my god, I think I'm going to puke…okay…you can't kill him!" she screamed, her voice cracking as she yelled, she bent over and clutched her knees again, trying to catch her breath. She didn't even run that far. Wait a minute, I shouldn't kill him? “You can't kill him, Rodrigo. Please don't. For me, please don't kill him. Please just don't kill him; you can't. Just put the gun down so we can talk about this, please.” She begged. Something was going on. Dante turned, his eyes narrowing as he took in the sight of her.

CHAPTER 114: YOU LIED TANYA

TANYA'S POV “Bang.” The sound of the gunshot echoed around me. "Ahhhh…." I screamed, my voice piercing the tense silence even as my eyes clamped shut. My heart raced a wild drumbeat in my chest. He hadn't listened to me, and he had killed him. But slowly, hesitantly, I opened my teary eyes, blinking away the tears, and glanced beside me. There he was, Dante. Alive. Unharmed. Rodrigo hadn't killed him. Oh my God. He listened to me. He didn't kill him. I sniffed as I turned back to Rodrigo, ready to thank him. Rodrigo stood there, the gun still in his hand; his eyes were freezing. His eyes locked onto Dante with a mixture of anger and warning. "Leave," he said, his voice colder than ever. "If you don't, I won't hesitate to finish this, and no one can stop me then." He glanced at me after saying that. It was a warning he wouldn't listen to me next time. Dante's eyes flickered with relief and fury, but he didn't argue. With a nod to his injured bodyguards, he turned and left. St

CHAPTER 115: SHE LOVES ME

RODRIGO'S POV Sitting alone in my office, the dim light cast a long shadow across the room, and I couldn't stop my mind from always wandering back to everything that had happened. I couldn't focus; I couldn't concentrate for a few days now, and I couldn't face Tanya either. The revelations of the past few days had left me feeling many emotions I'd never felt before: sad, confused, hurt. Hurt. That was a new one. It wasn't physical, but it hurt more than even a bullet, and I couldn't stop replaying every moment in my mind, thinking about how it came to this. Tanya's betrayal was like a wound that cut deep, like a bullet into the heart, a betrayal I hadn't seen coming; I mean, I knew I couldn't trust people, but I still trusted her. I wanted her to be different and unique and see if things would change, but she ruined that. The fact that Dante, the man who had been my enemy for a long time, the man who had tried to kill me several times, was her grandfather only added to the situ

CHAPTER 116: A FLEET OF EMOTIONS

TANYA'S POV ‘I was going to leave this house,’ I thought. The decision had been on my mind for a few days since I returned. I had paced around the house for an hour, thinking about what to do, whether to be patient with Rodrigo or leave him. It seemed like he hated me now, so what was the essence of staying? It didn't seem like he would forgive me anytime soon, so waiting was useless. And it didn't seem like he was ready to listen to my apologies anytime more quickly. The whole house seemed to remind me of him, and it hurt me every time I remembered everything that had happened. It was like the world was against me. First, I got married to a man forcefully, then I made the mistake of falling in love with him, then I got kidnapped and tortured, and now the man I love hates me. The more I thought about it, the more I felt like a ghost haunting my life. Tears poured out of my eyes as I looked around my room again, our room, but he hadn't stepped a foot in since I returned. It

CHAPTER 117: THE CONFESSION

RODRIGO'S POV Alright, I could do this. I just needed to tell her the truth about how I felt, about how much I loved her, and how much she meant to me. That shouldn't be hard, right? She crossed her arms under her beautiful breasts as she raised her eyebrow. Even though she looked sad and mad, she still looked gorgeous. How can anyone be this beautiful? She was a work of art. “Okay, I guess I'll start from the beginning. Tanya, when I first met you, I thought you were the prettiest woman I'd ever met, but I didn't want to do anything with you because I didn't want anything. Slowly, we became closer. You became my haven, my light, basically Mrs. Me. I'd never felt this way for anyone before, and I was confused. I kept doing stupid things that made you sad, and I'm sorry for that. You mean a lot to me; you mean the world to me. I would die for you; I would even destroy the world for you…” Her cute laugh interrupted me, and seeing her laugh made me smile. “Go on, continue,” she sa

CHAPTER 118: SAVE THE MAN I LOVE

TANYA'S POV Hurrying around my room, I rushed into the shower and bathed hastily. “Why did I have to oversleep?” I groaned as I ran to the closet, searching for the perfect dress. Rodrigo was supposed to pick me up in an hour for our date, but I had slept past the time. I had been excited about our date earlier, but now I was nervous. My stomach wasn't bulging yet, but I still felt 'fat'. Would Rodrigo like me this way? Tears soon fell from my eyes as I sat on the floor, sobbing. “Tanya, why are you crying? Rodrigo loves you, and he doesn't care about your weight gain,” I said to myself. But what if he does care? Standing up again, I went through my closet until I found a black dress. It was beautiful; I had gotten it a while ago but never had the chance to wear it. Putting it on, I posed in front of my mirror; it fit perfectly and didn't show off too much skin. It was the perfect dress for the date. Moving on to my makeup, I applied a little makeup just in case somethin

CHAPTER 119: THE TRAP

Rodrigo's POV I opened my eyes to find myself in an unknown location. My head still felt very fuzzy, and everything spun around me as I tried to get my bearings. I didn't move, however, not wanting anybody to know I was up. I needed a complete survey of the place and my predicament before deciding. I tried thinking, I did, but it was much too tricky. Whatever drug I had been given was still affecting me, even though I was awake. After putting in all my efforts to make out a compelling thought, I decided it wasn't conducive. Instead, I directed my energy towards remembering. At the thought of her, I immediately felt better. At least, that was a good start. I reminisced about the events between us, from the beautiful confession that had taken a lot out of me to the lovely time we had spent together in the morning. The memories were becoming increasingly cogent, and my thoughts together with them, until things started getting dark. I remember entering my car and noticing the

CHAPTER 120: BE BRAVE FOR US

Tanya's POV I recognised the voice instantly the moment I heard it. I looked up, my eyes wide in disbelief. I knew this somewhere, somehow. I couldn't place a finger on it; however, the feeling remained. "Who are you?" I asked, looking around and trying to assess the surroundings. When I was given a moment, I realised it was some broken-down factory. The particular environment we were in was dark and dismal. It was probably in some effect. Suddenly, I was dragged without any warning. My hands were pulled behind my back, and I was led somewhere by force. I gripped the document tightly; it was my only leverage. I was now in their hands, and from the looks of things and the violent approach they had taken all of a sudden, it seemed to be the only thing that I could use to keep them in check. I was forced into a chair, but I wasn't tied. The environment was even darker now, but I could make out the outline of some men standing at the perimeter of our room. "Get your hands off
