Chapter 21

Leena's POVDespite all the information Damon crammed into my head all day, something about his blunt honesty about my father brings these strange feelings up in me. All I've ever wanted was to feel wanted, and respected, and that's what I received today without even asking. Tonight, I'm going to rock his world and suck the soul out from his body. I stand firmly and turn to meet his gaze. I can smell desire pouring from his every pore and it creates my own desire. This is the night where I show him who's the ruler of these chambers. I unzip my dress and allow it to fall to the floor as I step closer to him. I unclamp my bra and free my breasts from their fabric prison. I stop long enough to step out of my cheeky, lacy panties.I slowly push my body into his and lead him to the couch. He goes to remove his own clothing, but I reach out to stop him. Grasping onto his shirt, I rip it apart and the buttons go flying and land with a soft clatter onto the stone floor beneath us. I unbuck

Chapter 22

Damon's POVI didn't want to leave her. I wanted to stay and explore every inch of her--inside and out. The minute she mentioned Torrance's night visit, I knew it couldn't be good. I make my way to the study where I know he'll be waiting. That is one thing that unnerves me about him. He seems to always know where I'm at, like some sort of shifter intuition. When I open the door, he standing by the windows facing out. He looks solemn. I knew it would be bad. Upon hearing me, he turns around and his face is grave. "Another death your majesty. This time it's further away. They attacked the Alpha of Red Dawn.""That's Alpha Benjamin Ronin. Torrance, where have I heard that name before?" "Your Majesty, that's the father of Aleena Mills. Leena's grandfather." That's right, the documents he recovered from Silver Rock's pack house basement. It included the ledger of members, and all information of those who joined from other packs. This was their way of keeping contacts for notification

Chapter 23

Leena's POVI hear a slight, feminine knock on the chamber doors. When I open it, a petite maid, looking to be in her forties is just out outside of it. "Hi! Good morning! Err, afternoon I mean. How may I help you?" She gives out a small giggle at my time mishap. "Pardon me, Luna. His Majesty left an itinerary for you while he is away on business and the first item is in twenty minutes in the library."Curious, I raise an eyebrow. "Oh? He did huh? Does this itinerary at least describe what I'll be doing in the library in twenty minutes?" She blushes and looks a little flustered as she scrambles for the paper that's tucked away in her uniform. "Yes, Luna! It says here that you are to meet with Nalia, the seer." Seer? I told him I didn't want to be involved in any of that witchy nonsense. Regular witchery, fine, whatever, but this is completely nuts to think that someone can read your thoughts and make a whole spin of tales from them. I sigh heavily. "Thank you, Ms.?" "Just call me

Chapter 24

Damon's POVI knew that she would have a hard time processing this, but I did not expect her to faint. I make sure to catch her carefully and I carry her bridal style to the room that I have been staying in. She needed to know, but Luca's impatience ruined any chance I had of easing her into it. I hated the abrupt nature of how I told her, but again, my hands were essentially tied. When I get to the room, I lay Leena gently on the bed, prop a couple pillows behind her head, and cover her with the duvet folded at the end. She's restless as I do so and I place my hand on her arm to help ease her sleep, and it works. I have never been able to calm someone that quickly before, but it has to be because of the mate bond. After I make sure she is calm and resting a bit easier, I walk out of the room, closing the door quietly behind. As I come down the long hallway, I can hear hushed voices in the sitting room. When I approach, Luca stands to his feet and bows from his waist. "Ah, King D

Chapter 25

Leena's POVWhen I finally wake up, I notice two distinct things--the feeling of strong arms wrapped around me tightly and the harsh snoring that belongs to those arms. I turn my head the best that I can to see that his mouth is right up against my ear. I huff and try to wiggle my way out of his grip, but that only makes it tighten. I hear a disruption in the snoring and a faint chuckle in my ear. "And where do we think we're going?" The voice is low and gruff and has a mocking tone to it. His arms loosen enough to allow him the freedom to start roaming my body. "King Damon! I thought you were sleeping. I figured I would get up and go check out the library they had in their sitting room." "Not so fast, mate." He whispers seductively in my hear. I can feel something hardening against my lower back and I knew what this would mean. "Oh, I don't think that is necessary. We're not even back at the palace, there's no way I could through with it. What if someone hears us?" He's laughin

Chapter 26

Damon's POV I'm thankful for Alpha Luca's words. I know that if it came from me she wouldn't have received it as well. I hate having to leave so soon after them finding each other, but we do have quite a bit to do now. Between the Nalia's findings and what Luca told me last night, we have no time to waste. Something strange was going on with Lancaster and it was rooted deeper than money. From what Alpha Luca was saying, he was in their ears way before his mate and him were even together. This concerns me greatly and I have to get to the bottom of this. Leena is silent the entire way home and refuses to look at me. Ever since her meeting with the seer, she seems rather standoffish. I never did get to discuss the results in detail with her, it was only the final answer I received. She's a gifted Alpha and she doesn't even realize how big of a deal this is. I make a few attempts to make small conversation with her only to be met with silence. Maybe she's mad at me for that morning

Chapter 27

Leena's POVMy vision is gone. No wait. There's something over my eyes preventing me from seeing anything. The stench is overpowering. It doesn't smell anything like the palace. It has this strong damp smell. The kind the permeates your senses and makes your stomach curdle. I go to remove the object covering my eyes and I can't seem to move my arms. I jerk around and realize that my hands are tied behind my back. To test a quick theory, I try to move my legs and they are also tied around the ankles. What the hell is going on? Where am I?I can't remember much, but what I do remember is sort of hazy. I was in the bed, crying, when I felt something hard connect with the back of my head. I remember coming to momentarily while my body was being bound and there were people all around me, but after that it's all a blur. I hear movement in the room with me and my heart starts pounding. A dark figure shifts around a farther side of the room and my blood runs cold. I can hear wheezing fil

Chapter 28

Damon's POVTorrance and Nalia returned with wonderful news. They're able to track down the traces of the transport the witches used to take Leena. I have to come up with a plan of action that doesn't involve charging in full force. We still don't know what will be waiting for us, so I have to be careful with what I do. I sent Torrance in his raven form to scout the area so I knew what we would be working with. It's been a few hours since I last seen him and I'm growing more concerned as each minute passes. Finally, I hear the familiar tapping sound of his beak. Torrance flies in quickly and transforms hastily to where he's still got black feathers in different places. I've never seen him this whacked out. "Torrance, what's going on? Did you find her?"He's quivering all over, but manages to nod his head. "M-m-majesty! Its Lancaster. He's alive and he has Leena."My heart drops to my stomach and I can hear a distant ringing in my ears. That's not possible. I ripped his heart out.

Chapter 29

Leena's POVThe sun rises, casting its light through the same window at the top of the room. I can finally make out the room that I've been thrown into. It's a dank looking basement with water running down the walls. That explains the awful mildew smell I've been breathing in for several hours now. I try to readjust myself but with my hands and ankles bound, I just flop myself over instead. My face is now in a stagnant puddle. My stomach turns as I move my head to the side to prevent myself from drowning in its nastiness. My muscles are starting to hurt from being tense and bound up and my head is throbbing. At this point, I just want Lancaster to end it all. I'm tired of the long, drawn out torture. I feel Sheera within me whimpering, as if reminding me what would happen to Damon if I were to actually die. Damn it! There's a sudden shuffling noise in the darkest corner of the room. When I move my eyes to look, I see a hunched figure coming towards me. As it gets closer, I reali

Chapter 30

Damon's POVI can feel each stab of pain in the areas that Lancaster has dealt her. Then suddenly, my heart starts to seize in my chest painfully. "Torrance, we have to hurry. She's dying and if she does, then I will too, I can feel it!"Torrance picks up the pace of his flight, and I follow, pushing through the pain. A few moments later, we come upon a building and he motions towards the basement of it to let me know that's where she is. I don't have time to go through the nice way, if I'm going to save her, I have to crash through that barred window. "Torrance! Prepare for mayhem, I may raise the alarm with what I'm about to do."Not waiting for his answer, I brace myself for impact and use the full weight of my body to slam through the concrete that makes up the lower foundation of the abandoned building. Dust and debris fly around me and I can't see a thing. I'm still in my wolf form, but I'm positive my glimmer has faded. Once the dust settles to the ground, I lock eyes with a
