Chapter 11

CHAPTER 11 LEAH. I was taken by surprise. I flew out of my seat and Trevor followed suit. He had been beside me all morning, begging me to help him make Lena talk to him. This was a terrible situation and I wouldn't have let him help but she had to be taken to the sick bay. "Trevor, we are taking her to the sickbay, okay?" He stood, frozen to the spot as he watched Lena's pale body sprawled on the floor. I had just fallen to my knees, right beside my best friend when I realized that Trevor was still standing a few feet away from me. I looked up at him, glaring with everything I had in me. If glares could kill, he would have collapsed to the floor. "You fucktard! Didn't you hear what I said?" He blinked several times and stuttered and rushed towards me. "I'll lift her up. Don't worry," Standing to my feet, I watched as he lifted her up with ease. We rushed down the empty hallway, towards the staircase that led to the second floor. It was quite a hassle for

Chapter 12

CHAPTER 12 LENA. My eyes fluttered open. Looking around, I realized I was somewhere else. Infact, I was out of this world. I looked around me to see that I was surrounded by plains. My skin was pricked by the low grasses I lay on. Pushing myself up my feet, I felt a wave of dizziness hit me but I was able to control myself from falling. I walked a little distance, hoping to see a road or a house. Anything to let me know that I was close to civilization but there was none. Nothing. I could see nothing but plains and small bills that were dotted with grasses. "Where the hell am I?" I began to stumble my way over the tiny hill. I missed a footing, hitting a rock I hadn't been quick enough to see. I stumbled down the hill. There was no way to stop as it was sloping and smooth. Finally, I hit solid ground. I groaned in pain and sat up to check the scratches I sported from the very strange fall from above. Just then, something hit my nose. It was the smell of iron.

Chapter 13

CHAPTER 13 LEAH. This was absolutely impossible. Hell, Luke was my mate so what the hell was going on right now? I took a few steps back and shook my head like I was trying to clear some sort of charm that had been cast on me because that was what it felt like. Yet, my wolf kept whispering the same words into my ears. Mate. Mate. Mate. Damon was definitely one of the most handsome male in Willow High right now. The hottest, even and the only person who didn't seem to be affected by his looks and charms was Lena. Though I had a boyfriend and a mate who was Luke, I had shown a bit of interest. I mean, he was really attractive. Who wouldn't fantasize a little about this god-like being standing before me. "L—Leah," I stuttered and cleared my throat, blushing slightly that I was this way with him. "Leah," He said and nodded his head. "You look quite familiar," I frowned slightly. "How? We've never met face to face before. This is like our first time," He lo

Chapter 14

CHAPTER 14 LEAH. Luke had class so we spent little time together. While I was with him, I kept zoning out and blocking out most of what he was saying. All I could think of was the encounter I had with Damon. It felt strange. I went to my next class and for the rest of the time before lunch, I was so lost in class. It was unusual for me to be this distracted. As soon as the bell rang, I picked my purse and walked straight to the sickbay. I met Luke on my way there. As soon as he saw me, a smile covered his face. "We meet again, beautiful," I looked up at him with a smile but I felt empty on the inside. His once beautiful green eyes didn't look all that and his hair, I felt it was better a bit longer and falling over his face or piled up in a low ponytail. I shook my head. I was thinking of Damon again. We walked past the lockers and climbed up the steps, hand in hand. We were the It couple. The school's prom King and Queen. Why was I going to let some random new st

Chapter 15

CHAPTER 15 LENA. "She's dead! She's dead!" I sat frozen in my seat, immobile and unable to make sense of what was happening or why she was yelling and crying about somebody being dead. I probably had a brain distortion for a minute and when she crumpled to the ground, I felt my feet move again. My chair screeched loudly against the monochromatic tiled floors and I rushed over to where she was on the floor, sobbing and hitting her chest. No one had moved. They were all still staring at her. Oh well, it was the weird Alexa who had a racoon for a pet which she brought to class in a glass box and a depressed and suicidal friend who was going to die soon anyways. But that wasn't the way I saw her. I had seen her a few times. Noticed how she stared at me while I walked through the hallways with Leah clinging to me. Noticed how she had whispered into her friend's ear and how the girl with blue coloured hair and multiple piercings and a scary gothic look nodded with a smirk.

Chapter 16

CHAPTER 16 LENA. There was something distinctive about this whole thing. The mark on her body was eerily similar to the one I had seen on that of my mother. Slowly, I proceeded to push her colorful hair back to get a better view of the very strange marks on her neck. Dark. Veiny lines. Looking like she was bitten but there was no fang mark to show that. Just lines on her neck. It disappeared into her shirt and my fingers pushed her neckline to see that the lines still ran towards her back. Maybe I hadn't seen it on my mother because she had been laying on her back. Heck, I had no idea about anything like this. I had just seen the mark and thought it was something else. I turned to the nearest person standing beside me. It was Trevor. I hated to be the person to ask him for help but I needed to see this mark. "Trevor." He turned to me with immediate effect. "Yes?" "I need your help," I said and beckoned him over. He fell to his knees beside me and Leah drew close

Chapter 17

CHAPTER 17 LENA. Vice Principal Agatha and a few other teachers came into the scene with the paramedics right after we left. We didn't want to be seen or asked questions as we had our own plans to make. Yes, we were sorry for her but the faster we solved this mystery, the better for whoever was next in line to be killed. Well, there was no class for the rest of today. It had been announced and we all knew it was because of Mereba's death and even if they didn't, a lot of people were going to miss classes anyway. Luke and Leah had gone to get snacks and drinks for us as we had missed lunch for this. I sat in the empty classroom, noticing how awkwardly Trevor moved. I knew he wanted to talk to me and was afraid to do so. Burying my attention into my phone, I stared at the zoomed in photo of Henshaw's body. I stared at the marks till they were like imprints in my brain. I was sure I was never going to forget it again. Trevor cleared his throat and before he spoke, I r

Chapter 18

CHAPTER 18 LENA. Gina's home was quite far from school. She lives with her father on the outskirts of Willow Town. They had moved two years ago after the death of her mother. She had died of a fast spreading blood cancer that wasn't detected on time. It had been hard on Beta Reinhardt and Gina. Really hard that they had to sell off their large beautiful house for a smaller one and ever since they moved, Gina, who used to be a social butterfly, suddenly stopped attending events. We thought it was only going to last for a while. I mean, she was grieving her mother's death. But it's been a year since she attended any social gatherings. She came to school and missed some days off, calling in sick. It was strange. This sickness that she couldn't tell us about. Also how her father who was nice and open to everyone suddenly shut everyone out. We rarely visited and whenever we were lucky to, we were always timed. After trying a few more times, we stopped. I am still worried

Chapter 19

CHAPTER 19 LENA. Fortunately and surprisingly, the gates to their home were open. I exchanged shocked looks with Leah. "They never open their gates," Leah said. "Unless he's starting to see the meaning of life again," "If that's true, then I am happy for them. At least, Gina can get to hang out with us again," She's in our friend group but a loner. Aloof. She's not close with anyone which makes her the person we go to whenever there's something we have to settle. For her, there's no sides to take. Leah drove into the surprisingly large parking lot. We didn't even take up so much space. "That car parked in front of us looks familiar," "It's a Lincoln Navigator, Luke," I said. "Which is why I said it looks familiar," He pointed out. "That's Dylan's car," "I thought he went to his grandmother's burial?" Leah said as she killed the engine. The doors were unlocked and we all climbed out of Leah's car. And there he is, pushing his car door open and taking ou

Chapter 20

CHAPTER 20 LENA. Gina spiked up our curiosity. Everyone in the room sat up immediately. Luke left his position. He had been seated right before her monitor. He drew close to her bed, where I and Leah sat along with Dylan whose arm was draped across her chest. "You know something? What is it?" She leaned away from him and he followed her movement. "Uhm," She blinked. Something flashed in her eyes but it was gone as soon as it came, right before I was able to decipher what it was. "I was there when Henshaw died. Not there per se. I was close and I witnessed his death" There was an edge to her voice. Like she was about to cry. She fluttered her eyes and masked her sniffle with a cough. Dylan rubbed her back soothingly. "That's..." Leah began but I placed a hand on her leg. I knew what she was about to say. Better not let the cat out of the bag yet. Dylan was already starting to frown in confusion. "Uhm," She continued. "I was just coming into the gym. I went to ge
