Chapter 1 Gabriel's Confession

Gabriel and I have been married for five years and everything was going smoothly as a sailing thread. However, that was not until she surfaced with malicious intent. This woman had disrupted my blissful marriage. She was my worst nightmare, an experience I will never want to recall. No, how could you do this to us?” This can't be happening, not when I am just starting to get my nursing career off the ground, My hands covered my ears as the words were departing his lips. Impossible. I would rather not listen to anything Gabriel was saying. It… can't be. How had he managed to get another woman pregnant? Why am I focusing on this woman when my focus should be on him, my husband? He decided this woman was more important than our five-year marriage. “Maddison…” He says my name, but it feels disgusting leaving his mouth. I screamed at him…Don’t you fucking dare say my name!! Reaching for the beer bottle beside me and hitting him over the head with it. It had left him with a slight

Chapter 2 Emily

Our cars stop in the middle of the road, and we are throwing insults at each other back and forth. We then stopped reluctantly when a line of cars told us to get out of the middle of the road. I drove and parked in the nearest abandoned parking lot. She parks, too, but not too close to my car. “How does it feel getting pregnant for a married man way out of your age limit? I snarked”.Oh, you must be Gabriel's wife. “I saw your wedding photo on his desk.” With a smug on her face, looking at me up and down. Then you know that you should not have been having an affair with a married man. Well, according to him, you weren't doing what you were supposed to do as a wife. I slapped her for saying that remark and for sleeping with my husband. She winces from the sting of the slap. Excuse you, I happen to have a career as a nurse, and every so often I work twelve-hour shifts. Why am I even explaining myself to you? Damn, this bitch needs a good beating that will land her in the asylum. You

Chapter 3 The Morning After

Madison's P. O. VThe next morning, I woke up with a severe hangover. Ahh, my aching head. I am never getting drunk again. I don't remember anything that happened last night. Not only that, but I just hope that I made it home after what Gabriel confessed to me. I tried to get up, but I was still dizzy from drinking too much. I lay back down and waited for my head to stop spinning. Then I see that I'm on a nice, comfy couch. A couch what the hell, why am I on a couch? Oh well, I must have fallen asleep on a couch in the hotel room to sleep because of the alcohol. That is when I decided to stretch to ease my body of some tension. As I am stretching, I feel this hard body next to me. Then I look and see that there is a man behind me with his arm around my waist on top of a blanket. Then I take a look under the blanket and notice that I am naked. As I got up, I noticed what, I thought, was a hotel room in Gabriel's office. Oh my god! What did I do last night? His office is a wreck. The

Chapter 4 Feeling Guilty

Gabriel's P.O.V.Seeing her slam the door so hard, my heart sank. I have never seen Maddie in this state before. Oh right, I cheated. What did I expect? I went to the sofa and sat trying to think of a way to reverse this, though impossible. I still had to try “What did I do?” “Why did I have to sleep with Emily, my secretary?” asking questions I already had the answer to. I know why she was there; I was feeling down about Maddison waiting to have kids. Emily said, if she were my wife, she wouldn’t make me wait. Sleeping with her this past year was a good idea, and it did make me feel better for a while, I had to admit. Then Maddison found out and now everything has gone to hell in a handbasket, and it is all my fault. I don’t even know if I can fix it or if she will ever forgive me. I had to find a way to get her to forgive me, even if I had to crawl on my knees. Not only that, but I decided to head home after waking up to Leon, the bar owner. Whom I slept with in Gabriel’s off

Chapter 5 Divorce

I decided to give this counseling thing a try for the sake of our marriage. We were going at least once a week and doing the exercises the marriage counselor had suggested. However I kept thinking to myself, can I really trust him again? What if he decides to have another office affair? Tell me what would you do in my situation? To answer my own question it is no. I don't think I will be able to trust him again. So, I decided to make dinner one last time and set the table. I hear Gabriel come in, then I tell him to come into the dining room and sit down. Hmmm, something smells good honey. I made your favorite pot roast with vegetables. Oh! wow thank you honey. What is the occasion? Nothing really, I just wanted to talk to you. Okay, what is this about?I have made a decision when it comes to our marriage. I could tell that he was getting nervous. What decision might that be? Chapter 6 Desmond

After my divorce, I wanted to keep the house, but I decided to sell it and Gabriel and I could split the profits. There were just too many memories and I wanted a fresh start, so I decided to start looking for a nursing job in a different city and state. It took about six months for the house to sell. During those six months, I was offered a job. I needed to leave this godforsaken town and have a fresh, brand-new start. Then I got that call from Dayton Community Women's Clinic here in Ohio with great pay and excellent benefits. I don't start my new job until next week. Now I am in my hotel room wondering if I should order in or go out to eat. Then I decided, heck, why not go out to eat? Now here I am driving around town in a new city looking for the best place to eat. I googled the nearest restaurant to the hotel I was staying at, it was about a thirty-minute drive. The restaurant is called Flow. From what I read, it got 4.5 stars out of 5. Now that is a place I would like to go to

Chapter 7 Desmond's Asks For A Real Date

When I arrived at the restaurant, Flow at 7:00 p.m. I'm greeted by the same hostess with a smile who sat at a table the first time I was here. Desmond has been waiting for you, she says. He has reserved a table just for you, Ms. Wong. Oh, I say, how kind of him to do that. She takes me back to a small area, which, I assume, is for the VIPs. I take a seat and the hostess leaves, but I never did quite catch her name either. She comes back with a glass of red wine and a seafood appetizer. Excuse me I say, I don't mean to be rude, but can I get your name, please? My name is Izzy, she says. Is it short for Isabella and she replies yes? Well, nice to meet you, Izzy. Then I tell her that she is doing a fantastic job as a hostess. Thank you, is there anything else that I can get you? No, not right at this moment. Alright, just let me know I will be your server as well tonight since we're short on staff. I'll be right back with your food, better yet, Mr. Greene will bring the food out to you h

The date with Desmond went wonderful, which I was not expecting to happen. However, I kept thinking in my mind. Why does he look so familiar to me? That was when I asked him do we knew each other somehow. You must night remember me, you got wasted at my bar. Then you hit on me and said that you didn’t want to go home. You said that you wanted to forget the pain. Anyway, that is all over now. I am never drinking that much again. The following morning I got up and got ready for work at the Dayton Community Hospital. It seemed very affordable for the patients. The kind of hospital where patients don’t have to worry about having medical insurance. I walked in and looked for signs that pointed me toward the Human Resources Department. Once I found the signs, I followed them and went in. There standing at the desk was the most gorgeous man I had ever seen. He was tall, with tan skin, beautiful caramel brown eyes, and muscles that you would want to run your hands over. Hello, I say, I’m M

Chapter 9 Professor Scott

I knew that I should have immediately said no when I came out of his office when he asked me to think about having lunch with him. What harm could there be, right? He just wants to talk about my job duties. Well, I will give him an answer after my rounds. Anyway, I am so excited to be starting my class tonight. The class that I will be taking tonight is a creative writing class. Writing is a little hobby of mine; it is just something that I always loved to do. Where I can express all my feelings. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I will be taking the class at Dayton Community College, and it starts at 6 p.m. Therefore, if I want to make it on time to the class, I have to either request those days off or take a different shift. Today was the first day of class, so I decided to leave a little early today from work just in case there was traffic to work, but I wanted to stop by Starbucks to get a little something to eat. Now, when I registered for this class, I heard that the Professor was v

After getting dressed for my first real date with Desmond. I made sure to look in the mirror to see how good I looked. I have to say that I am looking pretty darn sexy. Desmond will be blown away.
