Chapter 81

Dean: Arianna’s heart raced as she tightened her grip around our daughter, and I turned to walk out only for Kai to wrap his hand around my arm. My chest ached, and I growled in warning, not caring for a second that we were at a hospital, nor the fact that there were human doctors in the other room. The hospital was one that I bought for Arianna and Irina for when they gave birth, and I knew that my sister was due any day now. “What the fuck do you two think that you’re doing?” Kai asked, and I removed my arm from his grip. He frowned and shook his head at me. “The two of us are not done.” I said, glaring at Kai. I looked back at Arianna for one second before walking out of the room. My heart raced and my hands shook as my anger got the best of me. Dad walked out behind me and wrapped his hand around my arm, turning me to face him. I expected him to comfort me, however, I was surprised when a punch landed on my face. Lyov frowned in confusion and stood up. However, he didn’t mov

Chapter 82

Arianna: Sofia took my daughter from me and gently put her in her bassinet before taking a seat beside me. “Do you want to tell me why you chose to reject Dean the second you gave birth?” She asked, her voice gentle as she spoke. I looked down at my lap, avoiding her eyes as tears fell from mine. “I won’t judge, but I would be more than willing to listen.” “He lied to me, more than once. He kept secrets, and he’s been taking me for a damn fool.” I said, looking down at my lap. “He knew that I had a brother and didn’t tell me. He knew that I felt alone and with no family, and yet, nothing. I don’t know how long he’s known about this, and what else he is hiding from me, but I just couldn’t handle it.” “In his defense, even I didn’t know that Kai was alive, and it seems to me that my husband knew. Now, as for him being your brother, I can assure you that if Dean knew, he only recently found out about it. Neither one of us knew where Kai came from, but I always raised him as my own.”

Chapter 83

Dean: “Dean…” “Mama, can you please leave me alone with Arianna?” I asked, stopping my mother. I didn’t even bother looking at Kai who walked out without saying a word, clearly understanding my silent message. Arianna didn’t look at me, and mom debated for a second before she nodded. She looked at me and put a hand on my shoulder, gently squeezing it before walking out of the room. She closed the door behind her, and I picked up a chair that was in front of the table before putting it beside my mate’s bed. Arianna didn’t say a word, not that I expected her to, and I looked at my daughter for a second before turning my attention to her. “Do you want to know why I accepted your rejection?” I asked, and Arianna looked up at me. She shook her head in question, waiting for my response. “You chose to reject me without a second thought, and when it was me, I didn’t dare say the word once.” “Yes, because you wanted me dead, Dean.” She said, and I shook my head before looking at my daught

Chapter 84

Arianna: Yaroslav entered my room and I raised an eyebrow at the man as he put a hand on his son’s shoulder. Dean rolled his eyes and Yaroslav squeezed his shoulder gently. “I am glad that you managed to put some senses back in your head.” Yaroslav said, and Dean smirked. “You know, sometimes a punch or two from your parents in public tends to do that.” Dean said, and his father chuckled before kissing the crown of his head. “If I didn’t want what was best for you, I wouldn’t have done so. Plus, you have a woman that reminds me a lot of your mother, and I didn’t have anyone punching me in the face to ensure that I didn’t upset her when I was your age. If I did, I knew that I wouldn’t have broken her the number of times that I did when the two of us first started our relationship.” He said, and I smiled. He walked toward me and kissed my forehead. “I want you to know, Arianna, that even though Gabriella isn’t around, you do have a family here. I know that she was your one family b

Chapter 85

Malakai (Kai): I looked at Arianna for a second before she nodded in assurance, silently asking me to follow Irina out. My chest burned with a fire that I never thought that I would feel, and I couldn’t help but find myself frowning at the fact that she was here, pregnant, and just saw me. “Irina…” “Leave,” she said, stopping me. “Irina, just listen.” I begged, ignoring the fact that her brother and parents were there. Her eyes met mine before she pushed me with everything that she had, well, tried to. I took her hands in mine before she could. Her heart raced, and she shook her head at me. “You fucking died,” she said, and I closed my eyes. “You rejected me before you fucking died, you didn’t even give me the time to be angry. I grieved over you for three fucking years only for you to fucking turn out…” I pulled her to my chest, hugging her tightly before kissing the crown of her head. The fact that she had a mate was something that I was happy about, well, as happy as I could

Chapter 86

Dean: “What have you been up to over the past three years?” I asked, shaking my head in question. Kai looked down at his coffee and frowned at its smell. The coffee sucked, but it did the job of keeping us awake. “Been here, done that, made a few friends and many, many enemies.” He said, and I chuckled. “Your dad wanted me to get inside Lorenzo’s place. I failed to do that when your mate chose to leave the pack. Well, in other words, when Mariana almost killed her earlier today.” “I heard you were chosen as their Alpha.” I said, and he nodded. “Sadly, but it was a way of getting in without giving chances to those who wanted to ask questions. The idea of that happening was alarming enough, and the last thing that I needed was Mariana finding out about anything.” He explained and I shook my head in question. “The woman had men following me around on the clock since she found out that I was alive. And I have to tell you, it was not the best thing that one can go through when you’re u

Chapter 87

Arianna: I held onto my daughter as I hid inside the closet, taking a deep and slow breath in fear that she might make a sound. My heart raced, but I was more or less thankful for the loudness around us as it prevented anyone from hearing it. My father’s scent filled my nostrils despite everything, and the fear that I felt was one like no other. The room was still being checked, and I knew that it was only a matter of time before anyone found us. And the last thing that I needed was for anyone to hold my daughter hostage for me to submit. I slowly laid my little princess on the blanket that was inside the closet. It wasn’t an ideal place to hide her, but I would rather she lay here than be caught in the danger of gunfire, and being less than a day old, I would believe that I had every right to think that way. My body was sore and I was still dead exhausted after everything, the stitches hurt, but even my wolf knew to help me at this point. It was either we died or we fought, and

Chapter 88

Dean: “Mama…” “Boss, we need to stop the bleeding.” The nurse said, stopping Irina whose eyes widened in surprise at the sight of mom. Her baby was in her arms as she lay in front of me, and her heart raced against her chest as she tried to find out what was happening. “Then get to it,” I said, glaring at the woman. “Dean, what the fuck is going on?” Irina asked, snapping at me. I closed my eyes and pulled my second gun out of my holster. The fact that I watched my mom get shot and yet, I couldn’t move or react as I found myself being tied down. It was either I reacted and risked my family being killed or I stopped and watched as they tried to bargain with me. “The fucking hospital was attacked, that is what’s going on.” I said, just as Arianna walked toward the room alongside Kai. She held onto Alina as she walked and Kai held his gun. “Arianna…” “They’re either dead or gone, though I can feel Luca’s presence, but we couldn’t find him.” Arianna said, her eyes void of color.

Chapter 89

Arianna: I lay on the hospital bed as the nurses tended to my wounds. My legs hurt and I put my hand on my stomach as I tried to calm myself down from the adrenaline rush that I was in. The fact that my father was here, regardless of where he was, was not something that I liked. And it pained me even more that Sofia was in the state that she was in because of my family. I didn’t know how Dean must have felt, but I knew that he was in pain with everything going on. I couldn’t even tell him that the woman was sick, and yet, she was shot and was going to need surgery. The bedroom door was knocked and I looked up to find Dean opening it as he walked inside holding Alina in his arms. He looked at me and smiled as he walked toward me, holding her in his arms. He walked toward me and put her in my arms and I held her to my chest. She whimpered and I leaned in to kiss her forehead. “How is your mom?” “I can assume that you already knew about her liver.” He stated, and my eyes widened.

Chapter 90

Dean: I woke up to Arianna running her fingers through my hair. Alina was asleep in her bassinet, and I frowned in confusion before shaking my head as I processed where we were and what happened. “Mama…” “She got out of surgery a few hours ago. Both her and Kai are okay and are asleep,” Arianna said, stopping me. “Just relax.” “I don’t even know how I dozed off.” I said, and she smiled. I massaged my temple. “You were exhausted, and I honestly didn’t have it in me to wake you up.” She said, and I nodded in understanding. I looked at Alina who whimpered in her sleep. I looked at Arianna whose eyes met mine and she smiled before I got up. I kissed her forehead and ran my fingers through her hair before sitting on the edge of the bed. I gently massaged her hand and she gently pulled me toward her. I chuckled and laid my head on her chest. She ran her fingers over my hair, gently massaging my head. “Do you want to get more sleep? You need to rest.” “I am going to get a cup of co
