Chapter 2312
The bodyguard had a glint in his eyes that suggested he thought little of Wilbur. Wilbur was quick to catch on to what was going on and nodded. "Sure, I'd love to meet Mister Fawkes." "This way, please." The bodyguard gestured to Wilbur, who followed him out of the auction room. Wilbur did not actually want to get to know Fawkes. He was only saying so to avoid having other people try to get close to him. Wilbur had successfully bid for the most valuable items in the auction, which was a clear indicator of his wealth. A dozen or so pairs of eyes landed on him then, and their owners would have come crowding over even if the bodyguard had not shown up. However, things were different now. Everyone else looked rather disdained upon hearing Wilbur agree to meet Mister Fawkes. They were now certain that Wilbur had only come for the auction as a ploy to be acquainted with Mister Fawkes. Fawkes was the biggest jeweler in all of Moda. He even owned a diamond mine. He had become the ric

Chapter 2313
"What? A hundred million dollars? Who gave you the gall to speak to me like that?" Fawkes glowered at Wilbur, who shrugged and turned to leave while saying, "I guess we don't have a deal, then." "You!" Fawkes watched as Wilbur disappeared through the door, hardly able to contain his fury. "No one has dared to speak to me like that in twenty years. Who does this guy think he is, huh?" The bodyguard walked over then. "We've looked into him, Mister Fawkes. Wilbur Penn isn't from here." "That's great, then. Make sure the guy doesn't make it out of Moda today, Devon. I want it to look like an accident." "Of course, Mister Fawkes." Devon nodded and left the room. Fawkes sneered coldly. "That'll teach you not to mess with me." Fawkes was powerful now, but he had been a newbie just like everyone else twenty years ago. He had met his fair share of business disputes and would have been wiped out had it not been for his ruthless ways. Wilbur's appearance had humiliated Fawkes,

Chapter 2314
Just then, a deafening rumble sounded from behind Wilbur. He turned to see eight cars behind him, and all of them were race cars. Anyone else would have been scared out of their wits at the sight, but Wilbur merely smiled. "I guess they're not even trying to hide it now. Well, let's race, then." Wilbur continued to accelerate as the van sped ahead. The fleet of race cars chased behind him, following him all the way out of Monsato as they raced through the desert road. There was hardly anyone on the road. It took less than five minutes for the eight race cars to gain speed and catch up to Wilbur. Race cars far outclassed regular cars in terms of speed. Moreover, it was a wide road with no barriers separating the lanes. It was physically impossible for Wilbur to lose the fleet of cars. Soon enough, the first race car rammed into the back of Wilbur's van. Wilbur released his dragon's aura to envelop the entire van, and the front wheels of the race car seemed to slip as it began to

"What are you going to do?" Vicks had swerved in front of Devon without answering him. Both their cars maintained the same speed, and Devon had no choice but to accelerate and push his car forward, using the race car's bumper to lock Vick's car into position and continue pushing it forward. Just then, Devon saw Vicks climb out of his car with his pistol strapped to his waist. Vicks climbed on top of his race car, taking two steps backward before charging forward. Devon realized what Vicks was trying to do and pushed Vicks' car forward as well. Vicks leaped forward and grabbed the trunk of Wilbur's van, yanking it open and going inside. Vicks did not feel anything when he crashed into the trunk of the van. However, after going inside, he finally noticed a sharp sting in his nose. He felt it, and blood was trickling out of his nostrils. "This is all your fault, you bastard. You're going to f*cking die today!" Vicks took out an axe as he made his way to the front of the trunk,

Wilbur sighed. "I told you Vicks killed himself, didn't I? Do you believe me now?" He got back into his van, driving across the border of Moda and Kosanto, finally returning to Diseya. Back in his hotel room, Wilbur entered his demiplane. The encounter with Devon and the others on the way here had caused two and a half hours to tick by, and there was only half an hour left on the timer. Seeing as there was still a bit of time, Wilbur put all the items he had gotten from the auction into the Dragon's Altar one by one. His grace points increased as the pale flames shot up, and he got a total of four thousand grace points. "Four thousand?" Wilbur gasped. "That means I'm still a thousand grace points away. Does that mean I'm going to have to give up on the Dragon's Breath?" The thought disappointed Wilbur immensely, and he stumbled backward. He found himself tripping over a huge rock and turned to see the last ore he bid sitting there silently. Wilbur lit up at once. "Oh man,

Chapter 2317
Wilbur guessed that these two formations were the tests that Senior Fremont had given him. The most important task at hand was to find out the functions of the two formations and figure out which one was used to raise the water level in Bangsai's well, and which was hiding the dragon cauldron fragment. The two formations seemed to be equally powerful. Wilbur reached out with his right hand to touch the pale blue formation, and a bright light flashed as a powerful force sent Wilbur crashing backward onto the ground. "Mister Penn!" Arsi came rushing over and Wilbur's quickly put up his arm to stop him. "Don't come here! It's dangerous!" Wilbur had thought that Arsi would be sent flying from the force of the formation as well, but he ran right through the formation up to him without any trouble. Arsi helped Wilbur off the ground, patting the dust off his clothes. "Are you alright, Mister Penn?" "I'm fine. Are you alright?" "Huh?" Arsi looked confused. "I came to help you u

Wilbur's chest heaved as he said, "There's a huge formation here that only cultivators can see. It's only a threat to us." Arsi had heard of cultivators before, but he had never really encountered one and thus did not really understand what the cultivator's circle was like. Wilbur's appearance was how Arsi even got to know about formations at all. "But shouldn't formations affect everyone?" Arsi asked. "I've read many stories about cultivators before, and they're supposed to restrict a certain area from everyone regardless of whether they're a cultivator or not." "No. That isn't the case this time." Wilbur shook his head. "This isn't any ordinary formation. I don't think you'll understand. Just let me observe it and think of a solution." Senior Fremont had laid down the two formations here, and he was a cultivator from an upper dimension. It would be hard for Wilbur to explain this to Arsi, and he turned to walk around the formation while observing it. Both formations, upon

Fawkes smirked upon hearing those words. "This Huck guy knows his limits, after all. Get back to him immediately. Tell him to kill Wilbur no matter what it takes and drive that stupid van back to me. Oh, Wilbur's in Kosanto right now. Help me ask Huck if he can take care of it for me." "Yes, sir." Fawkes' butler, Bart, walked to a corner and dialed a number. After a brief chat, he turned away from the phone's receiver and said to Fawkes, "Huck said they'll do it, Mister Fawkes. Huck has many eyes in Kosanto, and Wilbur Penn is now in Diseya. He seems to be doing an investigation of sorts on the history of Diseya." "History?" "What's this idiot trying to do?" Fawkes snatched the phone out of Bart's grasp. "Huck, I want you to kill Wilbur Penn in three days. If you manage to get that done and drive his van to my underground parking lot, I'll add on a bonus of twenty million dollars." Later in the evening, Arsi handed a bottle of water to Wilbur. "Are you thirsty, Mister Penn?

What could the leading force be, then? Wilbur stopped abruptly after walking around the formations twice and activated his Iris Veritas. Amidst his excitement and nerves, he had completely forgotten about the Iris Veritas, and that he could use it to look under the formation. Through the Iris Veritas, Wilbur saw a stream of water deep underground flowing back and forth. A smaller stream connected to it would lead to the formation—the pale blue one, as Wilbur observed. Despite the two formations being so closely interlocked with each other, the golden formation did nothing to block the water at all, which meant that the pale blue formation was the one controlling the water level underground. That would mean that the golden formation was connected to the hidden space where the dragon cauldron fragment was located. Now that Wilbur had this information, he knew that the pale blue formation gave the people of Diseya a water source, and thus it was not to be touched. However, it wa

Chapter 2321
"Three hundred million dollars!" Maria's jaw fell open. "Dude, why don't we just kill Wilbur and drive off with the stuff? Why are we giving it back to Fawkes?" Huck, Johnson, and the others smiled at those words. Huck said, "Maria, surely you know that there are rules we must follow in this line of work. Killing Wilbur and running away with the goods will only get us into huge trouble. But if we follow Fawkes' orders to kill Wilbur and return the items, he'll handle the whole thing and we'll get off scot-free." The buffest of the men, Henry, smirked at Maria. "That's right, Maria. The concept of mutual benefit can be found everywhere. For example, a man and a woman will love each other when they're together, but they won't be anything to each other once they're apart." "Idiot." Maria slapped Henry's chest, glaring at him playfully. Huck looked at her, whispering, "What's up, baby? Are you mad?" Huck looked up at Henry. "You're in charge this time, Henry. Once you kill Wilb
