Chapter 61

Raphael POV "Daddy, Ms. Chancey..." A frail voice suddenly sounded in the ward. Araceli turned her head to look at Essel with great joy. "Essel, you're finally awake. How do you feel? Does it hurt?" "I'm okay..." Essel blinked her eyes and suddenly giggled. "I remember in the drama, if a man and a woman keep looking at each other, it means they both like each other. Ms. Chancey, do you like Daddy? Daddy, if you like Ms. Chancey too, can you marry Ms. Chancey?" Araceli obviously froze for two seconds. The first thing Essel said when he woke up after the accident was that he wanted me to marry Araceli? I suddenly wondered if the car accident was fake... But... My eyes fell on Araceli's face. She smiled, her eyes were clear. Her long eyelashes trembled with her laugh, as if they were feathers. My heart suddenly skipped a beat. Suddenly, I felt as if I didn't resent marrying this woman...

Chapter 62

Araceli POV I picked up the kids and drove home. While cooking in the kitchen, I got a video call from Essel. "Ms. Chancey, why don't you come see me?" Essel's voice was worried. "Ms. Chancey, can you come and keep me company? I want you to tell me stories..." I shook the spoon in my hand, smiled and said, "It's too late today. I'll come over to see you tomorrow, okay? I'll bring you a sandwich I made." "Yeebeeeeee! Ms. Chancey, thank you! Love you!" I heard her excited shout and giggled, "You should get some rest now. I'll be over as soon as I can tomorrow. Don't worry." "OK, Ms. Chancey, nighty night. Oh right! Can you give me a kiss back?" On the phone screen, Essel pouted, looking hilarious. I shook my head and gave the screen two "kisses" before Essel hung up the phone. I carried the food into the dining room and saw Krish and Valeria looking at me with big, worried eyes. Slightly surpr

Chapter 63

Araceli POV I closed the contract and said, "Micah, who drew up this contract?" "It's me." Micah said coldly, "If it's okay with you, sign it. Aren't you in a hurry to find a partner? It's an honor for you to work with me." I smiled and stared at him, not saying anything. Micah looked at me in the eye, blinked uneasily, and looked away. I didn't know why, but I thought he looked a little chagrined. "I think there's something wrong with this contract." I didn't hesitate to say what I thought, in a sincere and serious manner. I stared at Micah and said calmly, "I'm not going to work with you. You think too highly of yourself." I said and threw the contract hard on the table. Micah visibly froze for a few seconds, then looked at me with derision. His face instantly went much colder, but I didn't feel the least bit intimidated, instead I stared more contemptuously into his eyes. Micah was Raphae

Chapter 64

Araceli POV Krish said calmly, "So what?" Essel narrowed her eyes, clenched her fists in annoyance, and bit her lip. I couldn't hold back my laughter. Krish had always been introverted and never flaunted his abilities. It was clear that Krish already thinks of Essel as a friend. But why did he suddenly accept Essel? I stared at Krish, trying to see something in his expression. Krish felt my gaze, stood up, and said, "Mommy, I'm going to the bathroom." I nodded, took out an apple, and gave it to Essel. All day long, we stayed with Essel in her hospital room. Krish said he had some business to attend to and left after lunch. Valeria and I ate dinner before coming home. Krish stayed in his room, looking very focused. I didn't bother him and took Valeria to bed after washing up. I lay in bed, thinking about Eve, whom I called out numerous times in my head, but never got a response. I sighed slig

Chapter 65

Araceli POV Raphael said slowly, "Wait, Ms. Chancey. I'm going to call Micah right now and have him apologize to you personally." I sat back against my chair and wrapped my arms around my chest. I was interested in Micah, too. I leaned back in my chair and waited, only to see Raphael frown and then hung up the phone in annoyance. I laughed, "He refused to apologize, didn't he?" Raphael's face was cold. "Micah is a genius. He has his own world, refuses to accept it, and doesn't give in to anyone easily." I continued to say slowly, "Micah and Krish are different. Krish is more sensitive. Mr. Lancaster, I suggest you talk to Micah more often in the future." Raphael narrowed his eyes slightly and looked at me with a provocative look. "I will bring him to apologize to you in person." With those words, Raphael took the papers on the table and left. I shrugged indifferently. The truth was, I didn't

Chapter 66

Araceli POV "I have another painting exhibition in France. When this painting exhibition is over, I will take you to meet another student of mine. He is also a very good painter." Rhett smiled, "Valeria, I'm sorry I can't personally instruct you at the moment. I will have a set of my custom paints and brushes sent to your home." Valeria stepped forward, took Rhett's hand, and nodded. "Thanks, Ms. Elford." I was surprised again. Valeria showed closeness to Rhett the first time she met him. This was proof that Valeria had a keen interest in painting. I made the right decision with this one. After we had dinner, I took the two kids and drove Rhett to the airport. We waved goodbye to Rhett at the entrance of the airport, and after that, we went back to the villa. Rhett sent over the brushes, boards and paints. I put the boards on the balcony of Valeria's room. It was well-lit during the day, and the view from the window was beaut

Chapter 67

Araceli POV It seemed that Valeria had gradually moved out of the closed world where it was just Krish and me. There were now more people in Valeria's world: Essel, Mayra, Rhett, Maddox... And, Raphael... Just as the name came to my mind, at the door of the ward, a tall figure appeared. I turned my head to look and met Raphael's deep eyes. I smiled and said politely, "Mr. Lancaster." Maddox stood up and said solemnly, "Mr. Lancaster, let me introduce you. This is Mr. Krish, this is Ms. Valeria, and they are Ms. Chancey's children..." Raphael nodded calmly. "I know." Maddox froze. He hesitated, made an excuse and headed out of the ward. "Maddox, where are you going? Did you forget that you have to feed me?" Essel was on an infusion, unable to get a spoon to eat. She pouted and looked very cute. I sat down on the edge of the bed and said, "Sweetheart, I'll feed you. But you can't be picky abou

Chapter 68

Araceli POV On Monday, I took my two kids to the daycare. I watched the two kids go in before I drove to Creaty's office. I parked the car in the parking lot and took the elevator upstairs. As soon as I got out of the elevator, I saw a group of people gathered in the hallway in front of the office. The crowd surrounded the hallway. Even the employees of the company next door came out. Just as I was wondering, a man in his 40s or 50s suddenly rushed toward me in the crowd. "It's you! You killed my son!" The middle-aged man suddenly rushed toward me and grabbed me by the collar. He raised his hand up high and tried to slap me hard in the face. I frowned slightly and raised my hand, grabbing the middle-aged man's wrist and pressing it against his back. With my other hand, I grabbed his other wrist and pinned him against the wall. "Who are you?" My voice was cold, and there was hostility in my eyes.

Chapter 69

Araceli POV Listening to Yoselin's inquiry, I could only be silent. Melany killed my two children, so I have never been able to live in harmony with Melany in my life. I opened my lips and whispered, "Aunt Yoselin, I met a boy last time. He said he was Melany's..." "Bang!" A loud bang suddenly came from the second floor. The window was shattered. Glass shards splattered everywhere and landed on the lawn of the courtyard from the second floor. I hurriedly shielded Yoselin's head, frowned, and asked, "What happened?" Yoselin sighed and said, "Melany smashes things every time she loses her temper. Maybe it's someone who pissed her off again. Araceli, you better not go in there..." "Yoselin, it's okay. Don't worry. I just have something to ask her." I stood up and walked over to her, looking up slightly. That was Melany's room. I smiled coldly and slowly walked up to the second floor. Another lo

Chapter 70

Araceli POV I lifted my head and looked over. Melany was standing a short distance away, arms around her chest, smiling coldly. She walked over. "Raphael, Essel, I'm here to pick you guys up..." Raphael glanced at Melany indifferently and didn't say a word. Melany bit her lip in anger, her face pale. Essel jumped into my arms and spoke, "Ms. Chancey, our house has an amusement park, with slides, swings, wooden horses... Vallie will love it! I really want to take Valeria to play..." I rubbed Essel's hair and smiled, "Thank you, Essel." Raphael calmly said, "It's windy outside. You guys can just play in the house." Essel pouted unhappily. "It isn't fun..." I turned my head and looked at Melany's face. Her eyes were jealous and angry, as if she wanted to kill me the next second. Melany's eyes seemed to have poison in them. She smiled falsely and stepped forward, pushing me away and standing in front of Raphael.
