Chapter Sixty One

Two days earlier....“This is it?” Elio asked his secretary who merely nodded at him, his lips forming a line. Elio sighed. His frustration was quite evident on his face. His veins on the side of his neck popped out as he gulped a lump in his throat. He got what he was expecting. For the first time in his life, he wished he was wrong. He hoped that his assumption had been lost. But it was quite a different case. The manager of the morgue sat with his legs crossed while his eyes bore into Elio. The manager was not introduced to Elio quite yet. He was not offended by the behavior of the man. He was surprised instead. The first man who dared to sit informally in front of him did not know of his identity. Elio bit the inside of his cheeks and smirked. He had quite other problems to deal with other than the petty attitude of this man. His past self would have probably stuffed a bullet inside his skull any moment now. Elio glared at the man for a moment and perhaps the man sensed his i

Chapter Sixty Two

Ayah’s eyes widened. The cool breeze from the window hit her hair covering her face. She gulped a lump in her throat. Elio’s hand was still on her waist when his fingers touched the bottle. Ayah did not realize that she brought the bottle with her. Before Elio accidentally showed up at her house, Ayah was inspecting the poison holding it in her hand. When she saw Elio at the door, she stuffed the bottle inside her chest. Before going to the kitchen, she took it out but forgot to leave it there. She did not expect him to kiss her so suddenly but the way she melted in his arms, she forgot everything. He makes her mind go blank. Elio picked up his head from her neck as he rubbed the place he had felt the bottle before. “I felt like there was something here.”Ayah quickly and quite smoothly took the bottle from his hand and slid it under her back. “What? What did you feel?” She asked, biting her lips. “Well, there was a small bottle here.” He said. Ayah’s heart almost skipped a beat.

Chapter Sixty Three“The best we could do is make them shut up for a little while.” Elio's secretary, Carlo said, pulling up a tablet and handing it to Elio. Elio’s cabin was soon to be crowded with files from the morgue including the files of the policy of the removal of dead bodies. Elio was trying his best to make sure his company was not affected by his handling and delaying the disposal of a body. He did not want to remove the body of her mother without her consent. But something that was truly concerning him was a question. Who was she emailing? He could not possibly go through her stuff invading her privacy without her consent. He could do that, but he would not. He was trying to find alternatives while the manager of the morgue was going nuts. Though in the freezer, the body was taking up space in their morgue. They even tried to remove it without permission and that was when Elio called him to Japan. After the negotiation, they had shut up for a while but still kept on pe

Chapter Sixty Four

“Shit,” Mia looked at Elio who was standing at the door with his eyes widened. Ayah was left speechless. The bags in Elio’s hands fell to the ground. His mouth opened as he could not form words anymore. His mind was going to places. “P-Pregnant?” He uttered. Ayah gulped as she immediately raised her hands and shook her head. “No, there is nothing like that. S-She was just joking.” She said, Mia turned her lips into a line. “Gosh, I am so sorry.” She apologized. Elio was still trying to process everything. The word ‘pregnant’ made him go blank. Never has he ever thought of kids but the thought struck him suddenly was quite a bit shocking. He slowly picked up the bags from the door as Ayah and Mia gave him space and he headed inside. With the bags of fruits in his hand, he looked no less like a father visiting his pregnant wife. He did not know what to feel about that. He cleared his throat and sat on the couch giving an awkward smile to Ayah who dragged Mia into the kitchen. Mia

Chapter Sixty Five

“Poison?” Alice’s horrified face gave away her fear and also the fear of Mrs. Rose was afraid of anyone else finding out about her plan. Or her identity. Mrs. Rose stood up alert on her position and gulped. She tried to not look nervous to a frozen Alice. Zoya was shocked but seeing Mrs. Rose, she gained her composure and cleared her throat. “Ma’am?” She called Alice. “What in the world are you two talking about? Huh?” Alice closed the door. Mrs. Rose stepped ahead of Zoya. “Why? What’s wrong with it? Can’t we talk?” She tried her best to defend the word ‘poison.’ She could only hope for some excuse otherwise this whole situation was too sketchy to cover up. “You both were talking about poisoning Nala and Belo,” Alice whispered which sounded like a shout in disguise. Zoya stared at her confused. Mrs. Rose furrowed her eyebrows. She tilted her head and folded her arms in front of her chest. “What exactly do you mean?” Alice shut her eyes tightly out of frustration. “I know you bo

Chapter Sixty Six

Elio’s face darkened. The name woke something in him. He felt his demons taking control of him once again. His softness started melting away. Elio’s trauma response was to release anger whenever he felt the past trying to claw at him. He did not want to unleash his anger right away. He needed to understand what she was saying. Ayah’s lips were quivering. The name slipped out of her mouth. She looked down and got out of his lap as she stood up. Elio brushed himself and towered over her standing up. She wanted to avoid this situation because she did not have any excuse for what she just said nor did she want to come up with one. Elio can never be cleared of the name of a murderer. Especially as the murderer of that innocent child. Ayah tried to make her way inside the room when he held her elbow. Pulling her close to him, her resistance made it harder for him to control himself so he pinned her on the wall. “What the heck is wrong with you, Ayah?” He growled. She let out a breath o

Chapter Sixty Seven

Chapter Sixty SevenGrey had her walk. She used to walk as if she owned the land she walked on. Elio did not like her way of being. Whatever she did, it felt like she was a master of it or perhaps she lived like a Master half of her life. Grey came from a family of protectors. Her ancestors were the sworn servants of the Fords. Her dynasty was as old as the family of Fords. They have been working together for as long as they have existed. It was in her blood. Protectivity, compassion. Even when she was being belted, it was as if she did it for her enjoyment and never questioned Elio but it was quite obvious that she could not stand him.Her stare made him feel as if she was calling him Stupid. Elio was quite arrogant about it but he could never question her about it. Grey lived as if she was the only woman on earth. She was a general and a great commander. Her life was exclusively bought for him. She knew Elio's worth and his dominance. She knew where he ruled and who he dealt with

“Where were you?” Ayah dragged Grey inside the apartment. Her excitement could not be content when she saw her only companion from the times when she used to be locked up by Elio. The thought made her feel slightly weird but seeing Grey after so long she felt a sense of security and calmness. “I was, umm.” Grey felt a bit hesitant and awkward when she saw Ayah and Mia crowd her like that. She was not used to people being nice to her. “Continue,” Mia was eager to listen. When Elio had her captive in another mansion with Neko, Grey, by the orders of Elio, used to visit her often. Though Mia knew that she was jailed by Elio, her bored self could not help but force Grey to chat with her. “I was in the military.” She said, Ayah gasped. “You were in the military? You are a soldier?” She asked, scooting a little closer to her. Grey cleared her throat. “Well, the military general needed me for some work.” She said not wanting to tell the girls further about her ‘work.’ The nasty business

Chapter Sixty Nine“How come?” Inez was leaning on the kitchen table while her arms were crossed. A smirk lay on her face. Mrs. Rose cleared her throat. “I have my benefit here. As far as I know, you gave up on trying to get revenge and now you are depressingly lying on your dad’s money to survive after he banned you from traveling.” Inei furrowed her eyebrows. She was offended by that woman’s remarks but she could not underestimate someone who knew such confidential information. She was suspicious about them and now she needed to know the reason for visiting. Inei signaled them to the dining hall while letting them sit. Mrs. Rose’s every movement made her suspicious. How come a maid suddenly came to her doorstep with a new light to her motive?“Why exactly do you want?” She eyed Mrs. Rose. “And how do you know where I live?”Mrs. Rose narrowed her eyes on the youngster. “What I want is not important. You should be concerned about what I have to offer.” She said, “As for the latter

Chapter Seventy

Chapter SeventyCarlo stood in front of Elio for further instructions as he looked at his Young Master in a bad state of mind. Elio was sweating profusely even though the weather was chilly due to the rain shower. He looked like a mess though a charming one. Elio was effortlessly beautiful. He didn't even try to look half as gorgeous as he was. God had forged him especially perhaps because his face was unmatchable. Elio did not look like anyone else; it was as if he inherited half of the beauty of mankind. Even in a state managed to look breathtaking. Carlo gazed at Elio with his mouth half-open. Men could not help but admire him. He had the magnificence, the money, the brain, and quite everything any man could dream of. “Should I prepare some cold bath for you?” Carlo asked. Elio gulped, his head was thrown back on the chair and his eyes were closed. The black shirt he wore was stuck to his body like a second skin and his visible forearms looked hotter as his veins popped out. St
