Chapter Forty-Nine

I let out a shriek as Dhruv melted my father into sand. My father, Alpha king of Trinigad, was no more. He had died. Unable to put up a fair fight, he was turned into sand alongside sage Bernadette and Calixto. I confronted Dhruv, my voice breaking with anguish, "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE, ALEXANDER?!" I screamed, voice laced with disbelief as I stood up on my feet. I scampered towards where my father once was and tried picking up what was left of him. . .but it was all sand. I couldn't even hold it properly in my hand. The sand kept slipping away from my fingers. "I refuse to believe everything that's happening is real. I refuse to believe my father is. . .I refuse to believe he's dead.""Wake up to reality, Annalisa," Dhruv's sinister laughter echoed from behind, his presence hovering at my back like a dark shadow. "Not everything is as it seems on the surface. Sometimes, one must delve deeper to uncover the true nature of things."Uncontrollable tears slid down my cheeks as I stood up an

Chapter Fifty

As each passing minute passed, the more I got to know about Dhruv's abilities, and it was scary knowing how powerful he was. Perhaps, it was indeed doom for the whole werewolf races. Perhaps, the moon goddess had decided to abandon us due to my own foolishness. Before leaving the Colosseum with me thrown over his shoulder, Dhruv had ordered Asmodeus and Iblis to summon the other four demons from Gehenna. As far as I knew it, the world was now in their hands. His prisoner; that was what Dhruv had referred to me once he shackled me down in his basement. The cold chain metals clamped tightly around my wrist and ankles were ladened with wolfsbane, but thankfully due to my nature as an Omega I was immune to it. As I sat, shackled to the floor, I couldn't stop thinking about how the night had taken a turn for the worse. What started with a duel ended up being the worst revolution in history by a god, and I was all to blame. There weren't anymore tears to cry as I thought about everything

Chapter Fifty—One

I could tell a week had passed since the death of my father and Alexander's declaration of revolution. A week had passed since I was chained down in the basement. A week had passed since I last saw Dhruv. A week had passed since I placed anything delectable into my stomach. My throat remained parched, plaguing me with an insatiable thirst that made it feel like my lungs were set ablaze. It also brought about fatigue and rendered my limbs practically immobile. I laid motionless on the cold, hard floor, contemplating whether Dhruv intended to leave me to wither away in agonizing hunger, especially since I was aware of his plans for me. My stomach hurt as I stayed still, followed by a loud grumble and I felt my whole body shake as my pants began to dampen. I was on my period. I inhaled deeply, hiccuping as I managed to sit up straight. My mind was hazy and I didn't have any tears left to cry. I tore a part of my gown and folded it before proceeding to use it as a sanitary towel to alle

Chapter Fifty—Two

Lucan Trinigad, only son of the last surviving Lycan family, was Dhruv's lover? I found it difficult to believe. However, knowing Canary and Tyra story had made me realize that it wasn't impossible for people of the same sex to genuinely love each other. Yet, with Dhruv, I found it difficult to believe his heart once belonged to a man that was killed in a coup. "Lucan Trinigad?" I whispered, struggling to grasp the reality of the situation. Dhruv nodded, picking up the plate of food at my front. He nudged his head towards the chains binding my hands. "I would feed you. I doubt you'd be able to eat with that on your hands." "Then free me," I requested. "I have nowhere to run to anyways, and it's not like I can kill you." "True, but I'm not willing to take any chances," he said, taking a scoop of rice. He held it towards my mouth. "Now, open up and eat." I didn't open up. I only stared him blankly in his eyes, pondering upon his previous revelation about being in a relationship with

Chapter Fifty-three

If I were to meet my death at this very moment, would I have the chance to reunite with Cessi, or would my soul perish in the depths of Gehenna? I wondered as I laid unmoving on the cold floor. I had retained a position ever since Dhruv left me all alone again in the basement. His revelations had left me dumbfounded to say the least, I couldn't even begin to comprehend everything he had said to me, including the fact that he had a relationship with Lucan Trinigad and Amelia being his own child — an obvious truth given Helena and Gilbert were never rumoured to have had a second child. I should have known from the very beginning, their resemblance was too uncanny. A feeble moan escaped my lips as I pulled out a piece of material from my vagina. It was the last day of my menstruation and I couldn't have been more happier. I had ended up using most part of my gown as sanitary towel, and I was left with only the thin inner linen fabric to wear. . The oppressive stench of my coagulated bl

Chapter Fifty-Four

I grind my teeth together, feeling uneasy as I sat still on the bed. I have had sex before, with Alexander -Dhruv, yet this time around it seemed different. I didn't want to sleep with him, not after everything he had done. My hands went up to my cheeks the moment Dhruv stood at my front. I could feel sweat break out on my skin once his hands rested against my other cheeks. His eyes, which appeared soulless, didn't seem to focus on anything in particular. With the use of his second hand, he took my hands away from my cheeks before running a finger down it in a way that felt tender. "I sense your nervousness, Annalisa. I can even hear the rapid beat of your heart," he smirked, his fingers tracing a path down to my lips. I gasped, aware of the sound of my own racing heartbeat. "We have been physically intimate before, my dear Annalisa, and this encounter would be no different." But it would be different; those unspoken words weighed heavily on me, yet, fear prevented me from voicing

Chapter Fifty-Five

A whistle brought me back to reality. Did I end up in Gehenna? It didn't seem like it. The whistle I was hearing didn't sound like a product of Gehenna. It was heavenly, like a lullaby that could trap one in a beautiful sleep. It reminded me of the exact whistle I had heard from Alexander on the night of our wedding, before he had stopped time. But why? Why was I hearing Alexander's whistling? However, with how ethereal the whistle sounded, I was convinced the moon goddess had brought me to her abode. I felt a feathery feeling on my skin. I could tell someone was rubbing my body with a warm towel, but I didn't know who it was. Perhaps, it was a messenger of the moon goddess herself. My eyes were shut tightly and I was having a hard time pulling them open. With time, the whistle gradually subsided, and with great effort, I managed to pry my eyes open, taking in my newfound surroundings. I found myself in what appeared to be an ordinary room, lying on a bed in my most vulnerable state—

Chapter Fifty-Six

Sofia walked in through the door just as Lucan confirmed his identity. She was wearing a cloak, hands holding on to a basket filled with herbs. There was a look of relief on her face once she saw me. She dropped the basket to the floor and raced towards the bed, positioning herself next to Lucan Trinigad who had done well to remain quiet after his introduction. With tender concern etched onto her features, Sophia extended a slender hand to touch my swathed forehead, her voice infused with a soothing tone. "How do you fare now? Do you experience any alarming pain? I believe your omega nature will hasten the healing process." I remained quiet, unable to utter a word. Lucan's introduction had left me absolutely dumbfounded. I had a lot of questions to ask, but they just wouldn't leave my mouth. “Even after the birth of Amelia, Lucan never regained consciousness. He is the one I'm trying to revive. His body is in here,” those were Dhruv's words. So why was he with Sophia, and how was he

Chapter Fifty-Seven

"How long have I been laying on the bed?""It's not even been up to two hours yet," I got a response back from Sophia who was helping me pick out a gown from her wardrobe. "You sustained a severe blow to your head. I could even see your brain. A normal werewolf would have died from an injury of such gravity, but I'm sure you managed to survive because you're an Omega. Also, you're lucky I found you just in time."I rolled my eyes away from Sophia, staring at Lucan who nonchalantly sat on the floor with his back against the wall. He still had his pocket knife in his hands and he was using it to pick his nails. "Do you not find it unsanitary to employ the same pocket knife that you used to peel an apple, for the purpose of cleaning your nails?""Focus on getting your injury healed," he smiled in a way that grated my nerves, his attention fixated on his fingers that looked absolutely clean from a distance. "I don't need to be coddled like a child."My eyes remained on him until Sophia th

Chapter Fifty-Eight

There was tension in the air as we made our way out of the azure territory with Sophia in the lead. She was stealth, moving with accurate precisions, her footsteps barely making a noise. The white pack was quiet, the deadly type of quietness, and it alarmed me even more.Sophia stopped walking once we got to the trail that led to the blood moon pack. The trail was filled with an army of werebies scouting the area with Iblis in the lead. My heart skipped a beat, and I didn't miss the way Sophia's body quaked as she fell to the floor. "You both should bend, rest your back against the wall, we don't want them catching us," she advised. Lucan and I did exactly as she ordered, reclining to the grass floor with our back against the wall. I held the pair of nunchucks tightly in my hand, and the bottle of herbal concoction which Sophia had helped me with was wrapped safely underneath my cloak. My heart thudded as I watched the scary army of werebies, and I observed Iblis, once known as Alph
