Chapter 42"Any news yet?" Connor asked as soon as he stepped into the parking lot.He knew he had missed Annah by a hair's breadth and he completely blamed himself for it. If he had been more observant, he would have known when she slipped out of the bar. Now, he had to face the reality that he might never see her again."No sir," one of his men said.Connor groaned out in frustration, hitting the tyre of the SUV she had used. As soon as he got to the club, he had ordered the men to shut it down and ask everyone to stay where they were but yet, he didn't find her. His men had been very swift and thorough as they searched each person but yet, she was nowhere to be found. He couldn't imagine her escaping when his men were the best at what they did."Goddamn it!" he barked. Now, she was out in the open and he had no idea where she might be. The man he had shot just before coming here was the least of his worries because he knew he was the cause of everything. If he had come to confirm f

Chapter 44Matt remained rigid, listening to every one of his words. He didn't know if what he was hearing from Fred, the professor, was real or a figment of his imagination but all he knew was that what he was saying had to be looked into. Something was going on and he hated to think that Annah was at the center of it all."You aren't kidding right?" Matt asked, wishing this not to be true."Does it look like I'm joking? If you still want further proof, I'll scan and send you a copy of the police report and her photo pasted on the New York daily times. I'm not shitting you man, she's been declared missing for a very long time now," Fred snapped.Matt took no offense in how he talked because he knew that if he was in his shoes, he would probably behave the same way. Declaring someone missing and then suddenly hearing that the person has been found and in the most unusual way was something that didn't happen all the time."I'm sorry… I shouldn't have snapped, I'm sorry." Fred sighed."

Chapter 46"Any sign of her yet?" Russo asked as soon as Connor stepped into the living room. It's been two days since Annah went missing and everything, every method they had used in trying to find her had proved abortive. It was a mystery because Connor's men had never failed before and seeing them do this now proved that Annah didn't want to be seen. His men were thorough, they had contacts all over the place and Russo knew that finding Annah wasn't supposed to be difficult but here they were, nothing to show for it."No," Connor simply said.He had been a skeleton of himself for so many days now, thinking about everything that had happened and then falling into a depressive state. Russo didn't know what to tell him anymore because assurances weren't going to help matters at all. It was only when he saw Annah that he would truly be alright. Russo sighed, slumping on the couch, a tired mess. There was nothing he hadn't thought about, nothing he hadn't devised in his head that could

Chapter 48"We've gotten a secure location for the professor," one of his men said.Connor turned the chair he was sitting on around so that he would be able to talk to his man. Now that they had done this, he knew that finding him wouldn't be difficult. He was going to do a total shut down on the location and ensure that he doesn't escape. Recent findings indicated that he was a very smart man and it was no wonder he had risen to the professorship rank at just twenty eight years of age. Connor knew that he couldn't mess with him and he needed to be extra careful in everything he does."Okay, good. Great job, make sure that you do not let me out of your sight. Monitor everything he does now and ensure that he never leaves the city. I have a feeling that Annah must have contacted him and he might try to leave the city," Connor said.He didn't know how he knew it but one thing was sure, he had a feeling that Annah wasn't in the city anymore. She wasn't so stupid to remain here when she

Chapter 50Connor lost himself in the music and the fast beat of the momentum going on within the club. He couldn't believe that this was all he had been missing ever since and he hated to think that he had almost ran into depression."This is what I'm talking about," he smiled.Immediately, he walked into the VIP section of the club where his men were and as soon as he walked in, there were loud cheers from everyone around because according to them, Connor was the main man and they were sure of getting free drinks from him."Hey man, it's been a while. How are you doing?" one of his men said.He was Adrian, a fellow billionaire just like him but who had businesses spanning across several cities abroad. Just like how he loved to spend money, he also loved to change women. He was a chronic womanizer and times without number, Connor wondered how he kept track of the many women he had. There was hardly any day that passed that he didn't have women on his bed. It was a very disgusting beh
