Chapter 81

THEO The undercover infiltration went a lot easier than we thought it would. I had to give it to my girl that she was a fucking badass extraordinaire in all things. She was a pro with it even though she was new to it. She would have made an amazing undercover agent for our pack, but thankfully she had a more important role, which she was also a pro with. My mother insisted that Brynn took to her Luna role better than she had. That was a huge compliment because my mother had been a brilliant and fantastic Luna. One thing that I knew about my mother was that she would never lie about it nor would she pass out that compliment just to boost my girl’s confidence. The Council’s warriors easily detained those who fought against them. People were easily confused, frightened, or angry depending on their role in this pack. Not everyone was innocent here, and we would be idiots if we just blindly accepted them. There was no way that they were unaware of what went on in this pack. It did not ma

Chapter 82

BRYNN Theo’s arms snagged around my waist as he pulled me against him as we waited for Lindsey’s portal. ‘Fucking hell, baby. You’re trying to kill me with this getup. Not sure when you bought these leather pants, but you need more of them,’ Theo’s mindlink was dripping with promise. I tilted my hips and rubbed my ass against his crotch. Oh yeah. My man was definitely loving these pants. ‘It’s a good thing that I grabbed six pairs of them in various colors.’ His head dropped against my shoulder as he groaned with that information. I loved messing with him just as much as he loved messing with me. It was great foreplay for later. We were going to go visit with the Alpha and Luna who just got their pack shut the fuck down. Perhaps I could make it entertaining enough that Theo would take me into an empty room and reward me. The rest of our entourage joined us as well. Jackson, our Lamias, Dustin, and Dahlia sidled up. Mira would be spending the day with my mother. They were taking

Chapter 83

THEO Jackson and I were head back from a meeting with a neighboring pack. They were hoping to gain our support with trade negotiations with their pack. They would supply us with propriety shifter medicine, formulated for every part of a shifter’s life while we would supply their warriors with specialized training. Mike and Tris definitely fell back into their routine as if they had continued training alongside each other all of these years. I supposed it was like falling off a bike. Many pack members were so fucking excited about the rigorous training protocols that were very serious. My phone started ringing. Why was my mother calling me? “Hey, Mom. What’s up?” I asked her. “Do you know when you’re going to be back here?” Her voice was controlled, but I could still hear some strain in it as well. I looked around where we currently were to determine that. We were not too far from the border. “Twenty minutes or so. Is everything okay?” There was noise in the background that I co

Chapter 84

BRYNN We were heading over to Nightshade for a very important meeting. We were not really told anything other than the fact that it tied into the gifted wolves that had been going missing from various packs. It was something that the Council had us all on full-alert for. Nightshade was a sanctuary for gifted wolves. Shadow Falls, Dante’s pack, also had a fair share of gifted wolves as well. Hell, even our pack had quite a few since we were taking them in too instead of it just being those two packs. We were a team after all. “Momma,” Mira said as she skipped into the room. Goddess, she was so adorable in her sundress with the two braids that her father put in her hair. Some might not guess it, but Theo definitely took with ease to being the father of a little girl. She was definitely a daddy’s girl too. “Yes, sweetheart.” “There’s someone that I need to see at the meeting. Can I go with you just for a minute?” she asked with her patented puppy dog eyes that could make even Satan

Chapter 85

THEO I did not know Ziyah’s story, but it had to have been really fucking rough for it to elicit that reaction from the vision. I felt an echo of the emotions that my girl experienced from the vision, and that echo indicated that her story was not an easy one. Elle called Brynn out on us expecting, and I was really fucking happy. We both were. My girl was carrying our pup inside of her. I could not wait to see her stomach grow and the first time I got to hold our pup in my arms. Each new first would be absolutely phenomenal just like each new first with Mira was. Ziyah and Dante came back into the room. She held herself with composure even though I was certain she was not feeling that on the inside. I was thrilled that Dante found his mate. Brynn and I had both been immediately fond of him from the first time we met him. There was just something about him that easily drew you in. Not to mention that he had a fucking hilarious wit, which could put anyone at ease. Plus, he saved our

Chapter 86

BRYNN Jackson and I were headed back to the pack from a meeting with potential investors for the culinary school idea that I had unintentionally proposed to Larissa Morgenstern who owned Nocturne. Larissa had offered to arrange the meeting, but I had been entirely shocked by the potential investors. Owners of very popular restaurants within five of the closest packs. There were two different distributors who wanted to partner with us as well. Did you want to know the best part? There was an entire lineup of A-list chefs who were willing to take on proteges. The meeting lasted for three hours, where we dissected the culinary school concept. It would be a joint effort that would benefit the packs involved by quality training and mentorship. The students would be taught by the best that there was, which would make their employment profitable for both parties involved. Imagine an academy where interested individuals could go and learn from the best. Not everyone would be at the same le

Chapter 87

BRYNN The darkness receded, but I did not know how long I had been out for. My eyes remained closed because I did not know if I was alone in the room or not. My body was strapped to a chair, hands cuffed behind me, and legs tied together too. My body felt like it had been hit by a train. Everything fucking hurt. ‘Moira, are you there?’ I felt a flicker of her emotion but did not hear a response. If she absorbed the wolfsbane then it probably weakened her quite a bit. I just had to pray that Kalen was okay and sent a prayer up to the Goddess for her protection. The only other sound in the room was soft breathing, which I ventured a guess to be Jackson. My eyes opened slowly, blinking repeatedly against the harsh light in the room. It was a concrete room, with no window, and a door on the far wall. I bit my lip hard when I saw Jackson. He was shackled to the chair just like I was. Fucking hell. He was covered in bruises, cuts, and blood. There was no telling how much damage the cr

Chapter 88

BRYNN I wanted nothing more than to strike the fucking bitch dead where she stood, but I was not able to do that while cuffed. I needed to find a way to get her to release my hands. It took me a little while to realize what was happening, but the mate-bond was healing me some since Moira could not. It was just like what happened when I got shot. Therefore, I theorized that I would be able to affect it too. Perhaps I would be able to get a message to Theo about where we were or who had us. There was no certainty of it, but I had to at least try. “I’ve never had someone who was so afraid of me before,” I said nonchalantly. “I fear nothing. I sure as hell don’t fear you.” She sneered at me and crossed her arms over her chest, trying to feign indifference but sucking at it. Here was the thing that I realized in that one move of hers. She did indeed fear me. Crossing her arms over her chest like that, directly after saying that she did not fear me, was her subconscious’s way of protect

Chapter 89

THEO I had felt like I was drowning underneath the weight of my mate’s pain and injuries. It had killed me that it took so fucking long to track her down. I had never felt such fear in my entire life than what had flooded through me from the moment that I realized something was wrong with her until the moment that she was treated. However, even then, I still held a lot of fear within me that anything could go wrong while she healed. What I had not expected was that Dante and Ziyah would show up with Kade and Elle because Ziyah wanted to try to heal both Brynn and Kalen. It was like a sign from the Goddess right then and there. I had never felt the level of power that radiated from her while she healed my mate. It took a continuous twenty minutes, but the cuts, bruises, rebreaks, and everything had been healed. She was even able to siphon the wolfsbane out of Moira. The last thing she had said was that there had been a bit of pressure on the womb from all of the trauma, but she was a

Chapter 90

BRYNN A BBQ was thrown for dinner the day that we were released from the hospital. It was great to be around everyone. I would be honest and admit that a small part of me feared that I would never see them again once we were kidnapped. Thankfully, that was not the case at all. Kade and Elle showed up with the twins. Goddess, those two were going to be absolute heartbreakers as they grew up. It was adorable that they only had eyes for one special girl. Their journey would have its own obstacles, but the best things in life were worth the work to obtain them. I was also happy to see that Dante and Ziyah decided to come as well. They brought the two Light Fae with them, and I could tell immediately that they would thrive at Shadow Falls because they had someone who could help them heal and rise above the past. It was interesting to see that their older brother had actually worked with Caiathus, and that Ziyah’s grandmother had helped train some of the warriors from the other clan. I lo
