#Chapter31After a long and busy day, I decided to have a nice, relaxing bath, needing to wash the day away. I soaked in the large tub until my fingers started to prune, warning me to get out before I looked like a shrivelled-up piece of fruit. I stepped out of the tub, dried myself and threw on my white nightgown.I entered the bedroom and saw that Cain was back; he was sitting in one of the chairs by the fire. He seemed lost and mesmerized by the flames as he stared into them. I walked over to him. “Everything ok?” I asked, looking down at him. Cain remained still for a moment, and his gaze slowly rose to meet mine. He trapped me in my spot with his eyes, staring at me with lust and a look of longing. #Chapter33His eyes were shifty, looking everywhere but at me. “Uhm, yeah, I saw him go that way earlier.” He nodded towards a hallway on my left. “Why not just wait here with me till he gets back.” Calyx was acting weird and suspicious. What is he hiding? I scowled at him. “Where is he, Calyx?” I asked sternly, my wolf on edge. Calyx sighed heavily. “He went that way…...with Eve.” He said, defeated. However, the door near the end of the hall was slightly open, and I could hear voices. #Chapter35I heard footsteps and voices outside the door. I quickly put my hands behind my back, making it appear as if I was still bound. The door opened with a bang, and in walked Demetrius, with a sly grin plastered on his stupid face. He cocked a brow. “Oh, your finally awake, Mrs. Sleepy head.”“Where the fuck am I?” I spat. Demetrius tsked at me and waved his index finger. “Temper, temper. I suggest you cool that temper before he comes to greet you; he won’t be as kind towards you as I am.” He said in a severe tone. I raised a brow. “Before who comes?” I asked hesitantly. “Our coven leader, Lazarus.” He clasped his hands together. “He is absolutely dying to meet you.” Demetrius grinned. I narrowed my eyes at him. “Well, I’m not so eager to meet him, and he will just have to wait.”He tilted his head to the side. “Oh, and why is that?” He said with curiosity. #Chapter37I woke up, still lying on the floor of Lazarus’s office. Yet, it was now empty, and I was alone. I felt so weak, and I tried to channel my wolf, but she wasn’t there; I couldn’t feel her or hear her. So, I guess I have to do this on my own; I have to get out of here. I shakily got up off the floor, bracing myself against the wall for support. I reached for the door, and it was unlocked. My brows scrunched together in confusion, unsure of what to think about this. Could this be a trap? Or were they not expecting me to wake up so soon. I slowly and as quietly as possible walked down the hallway. Unfortunately, my one eye was swollen, making it hard for me to see correctly, and it didn’t help that I had no idea where the fuck I was going. #Chapter39I was finally released from the hospital and feeling much better. The doctor told me I was healing at a tremendous rate and was lucky to be alive. She had wanted me to stay in the hospital for a while longer, but I argued against it. I needed out of there. Cain took me to our room, so I could finally have a much, needed shower. I quickly jumped into the shower, instantly feeling relaxed and calm as the warm water cascaded down my body.
