Chapter 40 - Jo Thompson

Jo POV“To Richard and Layla,” everyone cheers, but as soon as everyone drinks, Dylan walks away. He leans on the bar, and to my surprise, Barbie appears. I scrunch my nose as I watch her melt against him and expose herself on the counter while he takes a shot out of her body. I close my eyes for a couple of seconds and turn around. What you can’t see won’t make you hurt. Layla looks at me with her eyes wide as she pulls me. “What is she doing here?” She asks, and I shrug. I thought she was out of town. That’s what I was told. But apparently, it was a lie. Dylan’s favorite thing. Lies. “Come on, let’s dance,” Layla says, pulling me by the hand, and I realize I am still wearing Dylan’s jacket. A terrible idea comes to mind. “Give me on

Chapter 41 - Jo Thompson

Jo POVI have to say that Jonathan has surprised me. He is caring, and a good listener, and an even better dancer. His moves are incredible and we spent the entire night flirting and talking. “Excuse me for a few minutes, I need to use the lady's room,” I tell him and he nods as he brings his beer to his lips. I grab my glass and drain it before I walk through the ocean of bodies moving in the middle of the room. As usual, there’s a massive line for the lady's room and I am about to explode, so I walk past them and into the man’s bathroom. “I am sorry, I am desperate,” I shout in the room while I try to cover my eyes as much as possible as I walk into an empty stool. I look around and I feel like I am going to be sick. Why is it so hard for them to pee in the toilet and not outside? It’s like they are trying to create a pattern outside, to leave their mark. Ewww gross. I l

Chapter 42 - Jo Thompson

Jo POVThe bachelor and bachelorette party were a hit, for everyone but me. I think that the night couldn’t get worse and it did as sin as Dylan waltzed into my life again. Lucky me. Today is their wedding day and I have to assist Layla in everything she needs and everything I can, her pregnant ass has been so sick that she can’t go a couple of hours without saltines and ginger ale. I have an entire sock in the bridal suite of the Plaza Hotel. I have always dreamt of doing the Eloise experience here and who knows, someday I might win the lottery and be able to afford it. Layla opens the bathroom door and looks at me as she gets back into the room. “I am regretting every decision I made about the menu for today,” she tells me as she holds on to her small bump shaking her head. I can’t help but smile as I watch my best friend in the world

Chapter 43 - Dylan Ashford

Dylan POVToday is Richard’s and Layla's wedding day and I still can’t believe that Jo is bringing the random guy from the bachelor party to the wedding. How could she? She barely knows the dude, and let’s face it, he could be anyone, he could be a serial killer, he could be from the press, one of our rivals trying to get information about us. The wedding is not being covered by the media and he could be from anywhere. How could she be so reckless on her best friend’s wedding day? I start pacing around the room as Savannah looks at me through the mirror, her eyes following my every move. She stands up and makes me stop as she rests both her hands on my shoulder. “Is everything okay?” She asks and I nod as I hug her tightly. Savannah has been incredible the last few weeks. She hasn’t been filming us as much, keeping our private life private, she has even stopped traveling all the

Chapter 44 - Jo Thompson

Jo POV“Would you like to dance?” Jonathan asks as he offers me his hand. I have been lost in thought for God knows how long. I nod, offering him my biggest smile. He guides us to the center of the room, where he wraps one arm around my waist, pulling me closer to him. My first reaction is to try and pull away because this feels wrong, but when I look around, I find Dylan dancing with his girlfriend and I change my mind. I rest one hand on Jonathan’s chest and another one around his neck while we move slowly. “You are the most beautiful woman here,” he whispers in my ear and I have to say that I felt goosebumps all over my arms, but not in a good way, but in a creepy kind of way. I look up at him and smile. “Thank you, but I think the bride is the most beautiful woman here,” I

Chapter 45 - Dylan Ashford

Dylan POVI watch as Jo fixes her hair and I pull my zipper up. This woman has a hold on me that I can’t even begin to comprehend. I pull her to me again, wrapping my arms around her waist and kissing her lips as she closes her eyes and melts against my body.We were definitely made for each other. She fits perfectly between my arms and I fit perfectly inside of her, it’s like every inch of our bodies was measured and we were made by request for each other. No one will ever understand how I feel about her. “Tomorrow,” I whisper and she pulls away while her fingers move through my hair and she nods. I look her in the eyes and she smiles at me. “I can’t wait for tomorrow,” she whispers back while I bend and start kissing her exposed neck. She tastes so sweet, her sweat dripping down her skin. Jo pushes away from me once

Chapter 46 - Jo Thompson

Jo POVToday is the day. Dylan is going to break up with Barbie, and then he will be mine. I walk into the kitchen making some coffee. The smell makes my mouth water and I can’t help but smile and sing along with the radio that is playing one of my favorite songs. The shape of you from Ed Sheeran. I sway my hips as I pour the creamer into my coffee. “I’m in love with the shape of you, we push and pull like a magnet do,” I start singing loudly as I realize this song describes me and Dylan. I can’t help myself but walk around the kitchen dancing with my arms up while the song plays in the radio. When it ends. I grab my coffee and position myself in the middle of the couch turning the tv on. Nothing like a Sunday without work. Spend the day in leggings and tops, watching trashy tv and drinking coffee while I wait for my men to come and get me.

Chapter 47 - Jo Thompson

Jo POV“Go home Dylan,” I finally say, pulling away from him, and his eyes meet mine as he shakes his head. “Go be with Savannah, go be with the mother of your child,” I say the words I never thought I would say to him. “Go be with her, I wish you all the happiness,” I finally say as I walk to the door, and open it, looking down, and waiting for Dylan to walk out of my house once and for all. Dylan grabs his helmet, and his jacket and walks towards me. I look at the floor, avoiding his gaze, and when he stops in front of me I look at the wall. I can’t even look at him right now, because if I do, I will break. This is too much for me. “I love you,” he says before he walks out of my house, and I slam the door shut before I sit on the floor hugging my knees, crying like a little baby. I can’t believe he did th

Chapter 48 - Dylan Ashford

Dylan POV Yesterday was the most insane day of my life, one moment I was getting ready to break up with Savannah so I could be with Jo, and now… look at me, standing in Tiffany’s searching for the perfect engagement ring to propose to Savannah.  “Mr. Ashford, how can I help you?” The salesman greets me. I smile as I can’t remember his name for the life of me. I shake his hand and he follows my gaze to the diamond rings in front of us.  “You’re popping the question?” He asks and I give him a single nod while I focus on a ring with a diamond so big it will shine on Savannah’s hand. It’s in a snowflake shape. “Can I see that one, please?” I ask, and I receive a nod. He grabs his keys and opens the window where the ring is kept. He puts on a white glove and grabs a small cushion for the ring before placing it in front of me on the counter. I lean forward, looki

Chapter 49 - Dylan Ashford

Dylan POV Today is the day of the party, and I am not happy about this. This pregnancy is becoming a spectacle. I haven’t even done a paternity test yet. I shake my head as I remember the full blowout that Savannah had when I requested the test.  “How can you ask for something like that? I wasn’t the one sleeping around lately, was I?” She shouted at me, and I felt guilty as fuck, but the small mention of Jo makes my heart beat faster.  “I wasn’t sleeping around, I slept with one person” I fight back, and I can tell immediately that I should’ve kept my mouth shut because immediately Savannah’s eyes pool with water. Shit.  “Shit, I’m sorry” I let out pulling her into a tight hug, she starts crying on my shoulder. I freaking love Jo, but I shouldn’t have slept with her while I was still with Savannah. I understa
