Tori "Good morning, Tori, how was your evening?" I had just walked onto the unit and was heading for the nurse’s station to put my bag down when I heard the greeting from Tammy, a fellow rookie nurse and my best friend. "Morning Tammy. It was good. I swipe my key card and push open the door to my hotel room. Throwing the card on the bed I walk over to the mini fridge and grab myself a bottle of water and chug it down. After tossing it in the garbage can, I walk over to the bed and plop myself down, sighing as I am truly exhausted. Lying back on the bed, I close my eyes and rub my hands down my face. I drop my arms to my sides and just lie there enjoying a few moments of quietness. Driving endless hours in the truck following leads that ended nowhere. Surveilling woman trying to get information leading to the truth, only to find they were all false. Heartbreak and disappointment at every turn. Hoping on hope that the next lead would be the one. Tori POV The sun sneaks in the room through the crack in the blinds and lands right on my face. I must remember to fix those things, this is annoying. Just then, my alarm clock goes off and I shift my eyes to stare at it. It read 7:01. I held the button one number too long and was too lazy to change it. Oh well. My radio comes on and plays a loud, crazy rock tune meant to get my mind awake and make me get up. Slowly, I roll over and smack the snooze button and drop my arm on the end table. It’s way too early to get up. It’s my day off and here I am awake. Even better, I have a splitting headache. Groaning, I throw the covers off and push myself to a sitting position. Tori POV “I’m sorry, you wanna drop that again?” Tori stares wide-eyed at her friend waiting for her to answer. Tammy came bounding into the living room with a giddy smile on her face.
