Chapter 1

"Don't you dare to stop me!" Jade said to her maid. She was leaving her room through the window, her father Shaw Halston, locked her in the room to take her to a business party in the evening."Lady Jade, please. "That was a great movie." Jade said while coming out of the theater along with her friends."I like it too." Emma added."Not a fan of vehicles, so I pass the 'me too' here." She waved her hand in the air."We didn't force you to come." Jade shrugged her shoulders."Excuse me?" Lily turned to face Jade. "You dragged me here by pre-booking the tickets without even asking me." She turned Jade to meet her eyes."Ok ok fine." Jade chuckled. A similar voice contacted her ears."Jade Shaw Halston!" The voice said."Father!" She moved her hand to look at him.He stood beside the open door of the car."Get in the car!" He commanded, to which she quietly walked towards the car and slipped in the back seat. The next morning Jade got ready to go out and look at the lane. She couldn't let go of the matter until she investigated it thoroughly. When she came down to have food, it was 11 in the morning. She didn't know how and why she slept for so long. Her father was not there on the table. He might probably have left for work, she thought. The food was ready and served on the table. She took 2 slices of French toast and a glass of orange juice. After finishing the food, she put on sneakers and went out.The sun was shining bright in the sky, the day felt rather hot than usual.
