Rose’s POV Out of the blue she asked, “Are you ashamed of me, Rose?” “No, Lolo. Of course not.” “Alyssa won’t talk to me. Do you think I’ll ever heal?” “In time,” the medic said. “And opening up about it is a start. Say as much or as little as you want.” I laughed, though it came out as yet another sob. “Don’t encourage her.
