SKYE He...pushed me away. He held onto his lips, finally realizing what had just happened. My cheeks reddened in embarrassment, but not in a good way. I was really embarrassed. I knew that I kissed him out of the blue, but I didn't expect him to push me away. "Sorry," I muttered under my breath. "I'm sorry," I repeated. "Just forget everything that happened." "Skye," he said my name, taking a step forward, but I evaded his touch and took a step back. "It's okay," I tried to smile. I leaned down to carry my own bags, perching them on top of my shoulders. "I understand," I said. I thought we were on the same page, but I guess he was just being kind. Or maybe he just doesn't like me as much as I like him. "It's not—" "It's really okay," I cut him off. I didn't want to hear the next words he would say. I just know that it's going to hurt me to the core. "I'll meet you downstairs," I casually said, like nothing even happened.
